MHT-CET 2008 First Year Engineering Admission Process very important clues

Seats Available for admission through Centralized Admission Process (CAP)

All Government / Govt. Aided Engineering Colleges / University Departments
: 100% seats of the sanctioned intake
All Non-minority Unaided Engineering Colleges
: 80% seats of the sanctioned intake (20% Institute level seats) 65%-on MHT-CET and 15% on AIEEE
All Minority Unaided Engineering Colleges
: % as decided by Pravesh Niyantran Samiti seats of the sanctioned intake

15% All India Quota for AIEEE qualified candidates (for Unaided Institutes only) : For Maharashtra and OMS candidates

65% Maharashtra State Seats : 30% OHU and 70% OHU

Seats for J&K : 1 seat in each course in each Institute

GOI Nominee (few seats) as nominated by MHRD
20% Institute level seats for Unaided Institutes
(NRI within this Institute level seats)
Minority seats (>50%): As decided by Pravesh Niyantran Samiti

15% Over & above seats for PIO and Foreign Nationals/ Foreign students / Children of Indian Workers in the Gulf Countries subject to AICTE approval prior to admissions
(UICT, COEP)
15% seats with Dr. BATU, Lonere- (for candidates of Raigad, Thane, Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri)

Types of Maharashtra State candidates

Maharashtra State Candidates : Type A
Candidates Passing HSC and Qualifying examination from a recognized institution in Maharashtra State

Maharashtra domiciled Candidates : Type B
Candidate Passing SSC and / or Qualifying examination from a recognized institution outside Maharashtra state. And Father / Mother of the candidate is domiciled in the state of Maharashtra.

Sons and Daughters of Central Govt./Govt. of India Undertaking employee : Type C

Candidate Passing SSC and / or HSC examination from a recognized institution outside Maharashtra state
Candidates are eligible for University level 70% seats in the University area under the jurisdiction of which the place of posting of their parents is done.

Sons and daughters of Maharashtra State Govt. / Maharashtra State Govt. undertaking employee reported for duty in Maharashtra state after completion of deputation period outside Maharashtra :Type D

Type E : Sons and daughters of Maharashtra State Govt. / Maharashtra State Govt. undertaking employee /Employee themselves

who is transferred and reported for duty to a place in another University area from the place of passing the qualifying examination of the candidate before the last date for submitting the application form and the candidate intends to shift to the University area where the Father / Mother /candidate are posted.

For Sons and Daughters of Defence Personnel category candidates
Reservation : 5% seats (Max. of 5 seats) of the total sanctioned intake for the college. This reservation is available in all colleges.
Categories :
Children of active domiciled service personnel (Def1)
Children of active non-domiciled service personnel (Def2)
Children of ex- service personnel who are domiciled in Maharashtra State ( Def3)

Reservation for Female Candidates

In all Engineering, Pharmacy colleges, 30% seats of CAP are reserved for ladies

This reservation is applicable within all categories:
SC, ST, VJ/DT, NT-B, NT-C, NT-D, OBC and GENERAL

Assignment of Merit and Relative Merit in case of Tie
Subjects for MHT-CET-2008
Chemistry and Physics : 50 marks each
Mathematics : 100 marks
CAP Round on CET Marks of 200 only
In case of Tie preference will be : Maths of CET, Physics of CET , SSC Aggregate , Maths at SSC and finally date of birth

Centralised Allotment Process -Engineering
Round-I: Mandatory for First 9 of 20 options
Round-II: Mandatory for First 15 of 30 options
Round-III: Mandatory for Any one of 45 options
Round-IV: Counseling
NOTE:
Candidates for whom the reporting is mandatory as above, will not be able to participate in subsequent rounds of CAP.
Other candidates who are satisfied with the allotment (other than mandatory) and confirm the admission will not be able to participate in subsequent round.
For each of CAP rounds fresh options need to be submitted by the eligible candidates

Development fee = Rs. 5,000/-
Other fee = Rs. 4,000/-

No tuition fee for Reserved candidates in Govt./Aided/Univ. Departments
Private Institutes
Fee structure as decided by Shikshan Shulka Samiti
(approximately Rs.30,000/- to Rs. 70,000/-)
