Eligibility

Eligibility criteria to appear for written exam for the MBA (Full Time) courses: Graduates (10+2+3) in any discipline or equivalent from any University recognized by the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur with at least 50% marks without any approximation (for SC/ST /OBC 45%) are eligible to apply.

Provisional approval for appearing in above course would be granted to candidates who have appeared in the final year examinations but their result has not been declared. At the time of counseling the candidate must have appeared for qualifying examination. The last date for submitting the mark sheet of qualifying examination (with the prescribed eligibility) is 31st August, 2008.

• A candidate will be required to secure minimum 25% (i.e. 50 marks) for general category and 20% (i.e. 40 marks) for reserve category in the written test to be eligible for GD and PI.

Qualification for MBA Executive programme: All graduates / post graduates from any University recognized by The University of Rajasthan, Jaipur with at least 48% marks or Second division without any approximation (for SC/ST/OBC 43%) & having two years executive experience, after the qualifying examination. Candidate must be placed within the municipal limit of Jaipur.

How to apply

The candidate is required to enclose with application form (including test fee) a Demand draft of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. One Thousand only) drawn in favour of “Convener, PIM-MAT 2008” payable at Jaipur. The fee will be non refundable. Candidate applying for more than one course will be required to indicate his/her choice and will have to pay additional Rs.500/- through D.D. at the time of submission of application form.

NRI Admission Process: The candidates seeking admission will have to apply to the “Director, University R.A. Podar Institute of Management, Jaipur by 30th June, 2008 along with the eligibility proof. The merit list will be drawn of all the eligible applicants. In case of tie between two candidates percentage of +2 examination will be considered and benefit will be given to the applicant with higher percentage in +2 examination.

University Ward Admission Process: For wards of University employees, the merit list will be drawn on the basis of marks obtained in written test (50% weightage) and marks obtained in the qualifying exam (50% weightage) (Applicant has to obtain minimum pass percentage/marks prescribed for PIM-MAT). In case of tie between two candidates percentage of +2 examination will be considered and benefit will be given to the applicant with higher percentage of +2 examination.

Diploma in Retailing by IGNOU admissions open

Eligibility:
1 Direct Entry: Candidates who have completed +2 shall be eligible for admission. However, the number of seats depends upon the number of internships made available by the collaborating retail companies through rai at the time of admission. Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying (+2 examination) shall also be eligible to apply. However, such candidates shall be required to submit proof of having passed the qualifying examination before 31st July, 2008.

Selection is by merit based on +2 equivalent qualifications. There will be personal interview at the designated Regional Centre in order to assess the traits of the candidate viz. Appearance, Ability to Communicate, Attitude, Mental Alertness and General Knowledge.

2. Sponsored Entry: Candidates directly sponsored by the retail industry and who have completed +2 shall be admitted. The Sponsor is allowed to nominate employees from their Retail Organization who have passed +2/equivalent. The Sponsor will submit the Sponsorship Form along with the individual application forms(s) of the candidate(s) in a separate format inserted in the Student Handbook and Prospectus-cum-Application Form. The Sponsorship application must be sent by the Organization and not by individual employees.

A Six Months Distance Participation Training Program

H.P. Combined Pre-Medical Entrance Test (HP-CPMT) – 2008

Date of HP CPMT 2008 Entrance Test: May 29, 2008 (Thursday)

An objective type (MCQ) Combined Pre-Medical Entrance Test (HP-CPMT-2008) for admission to MBBS/BDS courses (1st year) in Govt. Medical / Dental Colleges including Private Un-aided Dental Colleges (State/Management Quota) in Himachal Pradesh for the academic session 2008-09 will be held on May 29, 2008 (Thursday) at Shimla, Mandi, Dharamshala and Hamirpur Examination Centres for which the applications on the prescribed form from the eligible candidates are invited as available in the prospectus.

LAST DATE: The last date for receipt of application forms complete in all respects either by hand or by Registered/Speed Post in the office of the Deputy Registrar (Entrance Tests) is 5.5.2008 upto 5 PM where after no application shall be accepted. The NRI Candidates (Foreign Students) shall send their applications complete in all respects direct to the Principal(s) of the concerned College(s) latest by 31.5.2008.

H.P. CPMT 2008 Eligibility
i) For State Quota Seats in Govt. Medical/Dental Colleges & 50% seats in Private un-aided Dental Colleges: Children of bonafide Himachali/Himachal Govt. employees and employees of Autonomous Bodies wholly or partially financed by the Himachal Pradesh Govt. and have passed at least two examinations out of four i.e. Middle, Matric, +1 & +2 or their equivalent from the recognised school(s) /College(s) situated in the State of Himachal Pradesh only are eligible to apply for the test. However, Children of Defence Personnel/EX-servicemen/Central Govt. employees/employees of Undertaking wholly owned by the Central Govt. including U.T. employees/Autonomous Bodies and Children of Himachal Govt. employees/employees of wholly owned H.P. Govt. Undertakings/Autonomous Bodies, who are Bonafide Himachal living outside the State on account of their service are exempted from the condition of passing two examinations from the School(s) situated in the State of Himachal Pradesh.

(ii) The Bonafide Himachal Students who admitted to Navodaya Schools situated in Himachal Predesh, but passed Matric or +2 examinations under the exchange prognamme form other Navodaya Schools in the country are also eligible for competing this test.

(iii) For Management Quota Seats only in Private Un-aided Dental Colleges: Under this quota, there will be no domicile and schooling condition, both Himachaii and non-Himachali interested candidates can compete in the entrance test subject to fulfillment of minimum educational qualification and age as mentioned.
iv) Educational Qualification: The candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination of a University / Board by law in India with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects which shall include a practical test with 50% marks (40% marks for SC/ST/OBC) provided the candidate has qualified the subject of English as an elective subject in the above examination.

Note: The candidates who have appeared in 10+2 or its equivalent examination and the result has not been declared can also apply for this test, but the admission will be subject to passing of the said examination with the required percentage at the time of 1st round of counselling.

Age: The candidate should have already completed or should complete the age of 17 years and must not have completed 25 years of age on 31st December, 2008.

FOR CHILDREN OF J&K MIGRANTS: Who posses the minimum qualifying qualifications and age as given above can also compete in this test against the seats reserved for them.

FOR CHILDREN OF TIBETAN REFUGEES: Who posses the minimum qualifying qualifications and age as given above and should be sponsored by the Tibetan Govt. in Exile can also compete for this test against the seat reserved for them.

FOR NRI CANDIDATES

Candidates who are residing abroad and who have passed the qualifying examination form abroad and who fulfill the minimum education and age as given above are also eligible to apply on the prescribed form available in the prospectus. They need not appear in the entrance test.

PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING THE PROSPECTUS:

The SIMS Post Graduate Program in Retail Banking & Sales is a joint venture between Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) and SIMS commencing June 2008. SCB is the largest foreign bank operating in India and its Consumer Banking Academy will leverage on the academic rigour of SIMS to develope professionals in the banking industry by:

(a) The applicants who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination, 10+2 or its equivalent (HSC/PUC/Pre-Degree) course with minimum aggregate marks of 50% (40% for SCs/STs) are eligible to apply to the Bachelor's Degree Programme. The candidates should produce all the relevant documents in original at the time of admission preliminaries.

(b) The applicants who have appeared in their Higher Secondary Examination, 10+2 or its equivalent (HSC/PUC/ Pre-Degree) and are awaiting their results will also be eligible to apply. In such cases, admission to the Bachelor's Degree Programme of the SRD shall be provisional. If a provisionally admitted student fails in the Higher Secondary Examination, 10+2 or its equivalent (HSC/PUC/Pre-Degree) course or secures less than required marks, as mentioned above, the offer of provisional admission will be automatically cancelled. All admissions to Bachelor’s Degree Programme of SRD are considered to be provisional.

SC and ST candidates need not pay for the Application Form and Information Brochure, if they are unemployed and the income of their parents/guardians was Rupees One lakh or below, during the financial year 2007-2008. However, they will be required either to (i) download the Application Form from the Institute Website and at the time of submission of the Application Form, enclose a true copy of Caste/Tribe and
Income Certificate or (ii) send their request letter to either the Administrative Office (TISS, Tuljapur), or to the Assistant Administrative Officer, TISS, Mumbai, enclosing the following documents for obtaining the Application Form:
i) A photocopy of the Caste/Tribe Certificate issued in the candidate’s name by a village revenue officer or a
Tehsildar.
ii) A copy of the Income Certificate (for the year 2007–2008) of the candidate's parents/guardian issued by the
employer or by any appropriate authority.

Submission of Duly Filled-in Application Form
(a) Candidates who have filled in the downloaded Application Form should send a demand draft for Rs. 500/- drawn in favour of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, payable at Mumbai along with the Application Form towards application processing fee.

(b) Candidates should write their name, address, telephone no. (along with STD code), etc., on the reverse of the Bank Draft, at the time of submitting the completed form.

(c) Candidates can send their duly filled-in Application Forms through Registered Post/Speed Post/Courier. The

(e) The last date for receiving the Application Forms, complete in all respects, by hand or by post, at TISS, Mumbai is May 12, 2008, upto 4.30 p.m. The last date for receiving applications sent BY POST from remote areas/regions (that is, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Lahaul and Spiti district, Pangi sub-division of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep Islands) and for international students, is May 19, 2008.

Candidates who are claiming the benefit of extended time should clearly indicate in their forwarding letter, along with the Application Form, the name of the particular area or region (for example, Assam, Meghalaya, Jammu & Kashmir, etc.) from where they have posted their application. In case they fail to do so, the benefit of extended time will not be granted. In the case of Application Forms received by hand or through courier services of any type, the benefit of extended time will NOT be granted, regardless of the place of residence of the applicant

(f) Candidates belonging to the SC, ST, or OBC categories, candidates with disability, and Kashmiri Migrants must attach the relevant certificate issued by a competent authority.

Candidates should clearly note that the Institute will in no case be responsible for non-receipt of their applications or any delay in receipt thereof on any account whatsoever. They should, therefore, ensure that their applications reach the Institute on or before the prescribed last date.

The Selection will be based on Written Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview

The Written Test will be conducted on Sunday, June 08, 2008, at 13 different centres in the country — Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Bhubaneswar (Orissa), Guwahati (Assam), Jaipur (Rajasthan), Kolkata (West Bengal), Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Mumbai (Maharashtra), Nagpur (Maharashtra), New Delhi (Delhi), Patna (Bihar), Raipur (Chattisgarh), Ranchi (Jharkhand) and Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir). The exact date and venue will be mentioned in the admit card of the candidate. The TISS reserves the right to change the venue and test centres without citing any reasons thereof. The Group Discussion and Personal Interview will be conducted on June 28–29, 2008 at TISS, Mumbai.

BE / BTech Programme (First year on the basis of AITEEE 2008)
Admissions to BE / BTech programmes shall be made on the basis of merit in All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE 2008) to be conducted by CBSE, New Delhi on April 27, 2008. In addition, minimum 60% (55% for SC/ST) in aggregate of Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Biology, Biotechnology / Computer Science at 10+2 or equivalent are required to be eligible for admission.
