Beware of Misleading Maritime Institutes

Beware of Misleading Maritime Training Institutes in India

This is to bring into the notice that some institutes and companies are putting up misleading advertisements in newspapers and other media, promising students an exciting seafaring career. These institutes, which are not approved by the Directorate General of Shipping hide this fact and very cleverly list the courses approved by the Directorate. Names of some of the institutes, companies etc. that have came to the notice of this Directorate are as follows :

1. Bharat Shipping Limited having an All India Merchant Navy Camp in association with Office of the Member National Task Force, M.O.F.P.I Govt. of India having their office at 26/32, M4, Pai Mohan Sadan, East Patel Nagar, New Delhi - 110 008.
2. Global Shipping Institute of India having their Head Office at 228/298/4A/3A, 1st floor, Hasting Road, Baba Chauraha, Ashok Nagar, Allahabad - 211 001.
3. Chate International Maritime Academy, Mumbai.
4. All India Marine Academy, Near Gopalpur Junction, Niranjan Nagar, Khodasing, Behrampur, Orissa - 761 010
5. Sea International Maritime Academy Village Chhatripur, Babatpur Road, Varanasi.
6. Maurya Maritime Academy, Patna.
7. Searock Institute, Mumbai / Sea Rock Consultancy Service Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai.
8. Sea Horse Maritime Institute, Kakinada.
9. Oceanways Marine Institute, Masjid Bunder (W), Mumbai 9.

Before taking admission in any Maritime training Institute, kindly check our website www.dgshipping.com to see the list of approved maritime training institutes and other relevant details. Students passing out from institutes not approved by the Directorate General of Shipping would not be granted various competencies Certificates and / or continuous Discharge Certificate-cum-Seafarers identity Document (CDC). Hi,Thank you for posting this list and keeping it updated as well.
Is there a way the same list can be put up on the DG Shipping websites (something like a scrolling banner ) to make freshers and new entrants to merchant navy aware of the same before they get lured.

Is there a way such a list can be made more prominent such that freshers and new entrants to Merchant Navy can be made aware of such dubious institutes before they get cheated.
