IIFM is a sectoral management school imparting excellent management skills as well as managerial competence in the areas of forests, environment and development management. Eligibility Criteria

At least a three year Bachelor's degree with min 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ST/DA (differently abled; also referred to as Persons with Disability) or equivalent CGPA. Candidates appearing in final year of degree examination in 2011 can also apply provided they complete it before June 30, 2011.

Reservations

Seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Non creamy OBC, and DA (Differently Abled) candidates, as per the Government of India policy.

Fees

IIFM provides high qualify education at reasonable cost and total fee for the entire programme is Rs.3,00,000 for General / Non-creamy OBC/DA and Rs.1,80,000 for SC/ST candidates.

Admission Procedure

Apply and appear for CAT 2010 online examination. IIFM will use CAT score only for shortlisting the candidates. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.

Apply to IIFM separately by obtaining Admission Bulletin and the Application Form personally or by post by sending a demand draft of Rs.900 (Rs.450 for SC/ST) drawn in favour of "Director, Indian Institute of Forest Management" Candidates should keep a photocopy of the bank draft as it would be required at the time of filling up the Application form.

Alternatively, the Application form can be downloaded from the website of IIFM and the filled application form along with the requisite fee mentioned above should be sent to IIFM.

Alternatively, the application form can be obtained from IMS Study Centres. Candidates procuring the Application form from the above study centre should enclose the photocopy of the cash receipt issued by them.

Common for all Courses:
The qualifying degrees for all the above mentioned courses should be from a recognized University. For Medical qualification the degree should be recognized by the Medical Council of India.
The Candidates should have obtained not less than 55% of Marks in the aggregate of the Master's degree for non-medical courses.
A relaxation of 5% on the aggregate of marks obtained will be given for nonmedical
and Ph.D. courses in respect of SC/ST candidates.
D) GUIDELINES:
For Medical course, the candidate should have completed compulsory rotation internship of one year after MBBS or its equivalent recognized by Medical Council of India on or before the date of commencement of course. A certificate to that effect has to be produced. The candidate should have permanent registration with State Medical Council. In case of Candidates who have not completed the Internship and have not registered with any State Medical council, but are selected in the counseling, will not be considered for admission unless the Internship Completion Certificate and the State Medical Council Registration Certificate are produced on or before the date of commencement of course failing which, the seat allotted will be cancelled without any further communication and the Candidate next in the order of Merit in the waiting list will be considered. For Non-Medical courses, candidates should bring the results of their qualifying examination as on the date of Entrance
Test i.e., 27th February 2011.

and submitted online. Printout of the Application Abstract with the latest
passport size photograph affixed (in the column provided) along with the

560 029 and relevant enclosures should be sent to the Director, NIMHANS,
Hosur Road, Bangalore – 560 029 by superscribing the name of the
course(s) applied for, on the Envolope without fail.
2. A candidate can apply for a maximum of 4 courses only (Medical & Non-
Medical inclusive) provided they are eligible.

course for General candidates and Rs.750/- per course for SC/ST candidates
4. Foreign Nationals are required to submit their applications through the
Diplomatic Channel (through the Ministry of External Affairs). They shall

should produce the sponsorship certificate in the prescribed format.

Entrance Examination for eligibility for admission to Degree of Doctor of Philosophy Ph.D (PET) on 21st November, 2010 (Sunday) during 12.00 pm, to 2.15 pm at the Campus of Bhavnagar of University, Bhavnagar

Eligibility: A candidates holding recognized Master's degree or recognized degree equivalent to Master's degree with at least 48% or equivalent grades are eligible to appear in this examination in the subject he holds his master degree. A candidate who has appeared at the qualifying Master Degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited may also apply for this examination. However, such candidate shall be considered eligible for admission to degree of doctor of philosophy program; only after he has passed the Master Degree examination with 48% marks when the said result is declared. The certificate of passing Ph.D. entrance test shall be issued only after producing certificate of their passing Masters Degree with 48% marks. In case, if he does not pass his Masters Degree with 48% marks his result of Ph.D. entrance test shall automatically stand cancelled. However, five percent relaxation in eligibility condition would be given to the candidates of SC / ST category.

Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribes (ST)/Physically Handicapped (PH)/socially and Economically Backward Class (SEBC) should attach attested copy of necessary certificates with the application form.

(b) Candidates exempted to appear in Entrance Test: Rs. 500/=00

Microsoft, Autodesk to provide free software to AICTE

Microsoft and Autodesk will provide free software to students and engineering/architecture faculty in colleges and Institutes under the ambit of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

AICTE Chairman S.S. Mantha signed MoUs with Autodesk Chief Education Officer Joe Asthroth and Microsoft General Manager - Developer Partner Evangelism Moorthy Uppaluri on Friday.

Moorthy Uppaluri, general manager, Microsoft India said that this will provide access to software to millions of students who design projects as part of their curricula and otherwise. The softwares like Window phone, visual Studio, Explorer-9 will be freely available via the AICTE website.

AICTE chairman S.S. Mantha said the softwares will be readily available to institutes from Friday onwards but students can access them individually within two months

The step will benefit nearly 50 lakh students and over 3 lakh faculty all over the country as unique ID and passwords will be provided to them.

90% Attendance must for College Teachers

The Maharashtra state government has been planning to bring in norms that will decide the responsibilities of principals and teachers. “The state will soon come up with a resolution in this regard,” Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister Rajesh Tope told The Indian Express.

There will be strict criteria and principals of colleges will see to it that the college is fulfilling the criteria. The colleges will be given marks on the basis of these key performance indicators. Low scoring colleges will be eligible for action such as disaffiliation from the university.

There is already a norm that requires at least 75 per cent attendance of students in colleges. Now, it will be responsibility of principals if students do not stick to the norms. Moreover, teachers will need to conduct at least 90 per cent periods

As the Maharashtra government has started providing salaries as per the recommendations of the sixth pay commission, the government expects accountability on the part of principals as well as college teachers.

(1) Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.

(2) The candidate must possess MBBS/BDS degree from a recognised Medical / Dental College or a foreign degree included in the schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 AND full registration either from the Medical / Dental Council of India or State Medical / Dental Council after completing the compulsory rotating internship.

Eligibility
PGPM/PGP-HR/PGP-IM: Minimum of 3-year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities / AICTE. Candidates completing all requirements, for obtaining the Bachelor’s degree by 30 June 2011 can also apply subject to furnishing evidence to that effect latest by 1 October 2011.

NMP (EPGPM): Minimum of 3-year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities/ AICTE and minimum 5 years of post qualification executive (Class I or Officer Grade) work experience.

Admission Procedure
MDI uses CAT for short listing candidates for all the above programmes.
Candidate has to appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) to be conducted by the IIMs during 27 October to 24 November 2010. The last date for obtaining CAT Voucher is 27 September, 2010.
Foreign/NRI/PIO applicants can apply by submitting valid GMAT scores (taken not later than October 2010). NRI applicants residing in India during July-December 2010 will have to appear in CAT. GOI Rules will be followed related to admission of these categories of candidates.
Final selection process will consider performance in the CAT / GMAT and subsequent Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
Candidate must apply separately for NMP (EPGPM).
IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.

NISER Ph.D. Program scheduled to commence from December' 2010 in the following schools of basic sciences at NISER, Bhubaneswar:

Eligibility

1. Age: Not more than 28 years on December 01, 2010 (Born on/after December, 1982)

Stream and Minimum Educational Qualifications

* Biological Sciences
60% in Masters in any branches of Biology, life sciences and bioinformatics. Student with masters in any branches of natural or computer sciences with interest in pursuing career in biology

* Chemical Sciences
60% in M. Sc. Or equivalent degree in Chemistry, Physics, Applied Chemistry, Biochemistry, Material Science, any one of the subject.

* Mathematical Sciences
60% in M. Sc. or equivalent degree in Mathematics

3. Candidates should have qualified the CSIR-NET/GATE/ NBHM or equivalent examination valid for the current year in the relevant area of research. UGC-CSIR JRF qualified candidates can avail the fellowship directly from UGC or CSIR, whereas, students selected for Ph.D. program based on GATE scores, are eligible for financial aid (Assistantship / Fellowship) from NISER, Bhubaneswar as prevailing
in DAE.

4. The selected students who opt for the Fellowship from NISER will be given Rs. 16,000/- for first 2 years , which will subsequently be enhanced to Rs. 18,000/- for remaining 2 years, subject to the condition that he/she fulfills all the requirements of the Institute that will be stipulated from time to time.

Selection Procedure
The selection committee of the respective school short-lists the candidates among those who meet the minimum educational qualifications and satisfy additional criteria which each school may set as deemed necessary.
The short-listed candidates will be called for an interview, supplemented by a written test if necessary, for the admission. All candidates called for the Test / Interview will be paid to and fro single, second-sleeper class railway fare by the shortest route from their place of residence to the Institute / venue of the Test /Interview. They have to produce evidence (railway ticket) in support of their claim.
Based on the academic record and the performance of the candidates in the selection process, the selection committee of the school will recommend candidates to the Chairman, Academic Council for admission to the Ph.D. program.

• Fill-in the application form completely. Incomplete application form will be rejected. The application form can either be typed or hand-written.
• NISER does not demand any admission/entrance fee from the candidates who apply for Ph.D program. It is free.

Applications are invited for the award of Commonwealth Split-site Doctoral Scholarship for the academic year 2011 offered by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the United Kingdom Scholarships are available in all disciplines including Medicine and Dentistry.

Eligibility :

Citizen and Residency : Candidate should be the citizen of India.

Qualification Requirement : Hold, by 1st October, 2011, a first degree of upper second class Honours standard (or above) or a second class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification which will normally be a Master's degree AND in the fields of medicine and dentistry, have qualified as A Doctor or Dentist between 1st October, 2001 and 30th September, 2006.
