Microsoft’s Imagine Cup 2013 Registration Starts

Microsoft has announced the Imagine Cup 2013 competitions. The prize money has increased and Microsoft is going to fly every finalist team to St Petersburg, Russia for the Worldwide Finals.

This year there are thee competitions each with a top prize of $50,000 (USD) and three challenges with top prizes of $10,000 (USD). Participants must be 16 and older - which means that high school students are eligible as well as university students.

Microsoft’s Imagine Cup is the world’s most prestigious student technology competition, bringing together student innovators from all over the world. If you have a great idea for a new app, bring it to life through Imagine Cup. With Microsoft resources and support, you can make a great app and win travel and cash prizes!

The Imagine Cup is a skill-based competition comprised of 3 competitions and multiple challenges. The object of this competition is to create innovative and original software applications. Open to students around the world, the competition spans one year, beginning with local, regional, and online competitions, and culminates at the Worldwide Finals, which is hosted in a different country every year.

To participate in Imagine Cup 2013, you must first register. You can register at www.imagine.com by clicking the button “Get Started” available on most pages. Once you have registered you can sign up for the Competition(s) or Challenge(s) that you would like to compete in and start building your team.
