MBA/MCA Karnataka PGCET 2009

KARNATAKA PGCET MBA / MCA ADMISSION
Admission to MBA and MCA Courses in Karnataka for the year 2009-2010
Pursuant to the issue of Government Notification No. ED 38 TEC 2009 for Admission to MBA/MCA for the year 2009, the Karnataka PGCET – 2009 is being conducted under the supervision of Central Post Graduate Admission Committee (CPAC) for the purpose of determining the merit of both Karnataka and Non-Karnataka Candidates for admission to the First year, First semester of full time (2 years) and part time (3 years) Master of Business Administration (MBA), full time (2 years) MBA (Infrastructure
Management) and full time (3 years) Master of Computer Applications (MCA) courses, in University Departments and institutions affiliated to the following Universities- Bangalore, Gulbarga, Karnatak,Kuvempu, Mangalore, Mysore, Tumkur, Karnataka State Women’s University and Visvesvaraya Technological University, within the State of Karnataka for the academic year 2009-2010. However, the Non-Karnataka candidates appearing for PGCET - 2009 are eligible for those seats available against the
management quota of private professional institutions, in such cases where the institutions have surrendered their quota of seats to CPAC.

Academic Eligibility:
MBA (FT/ PT): Admission to MBA course shall be open for the candidates who have passed the Bachelor degree with not less than fifty percent i.e. integer 50% (rounding-off of aggregate percent is not permitted)of the marks in the aggregate of all the years of the degree examinations. However, in the case of candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC / ST and Category I, the aggregate percent of marks of all the years of the qualifying examination shall not be less than forty five percent i.e. integer 45% (rounding -off of aggregate percent is not permitted).
The candidates applying for part-time course in MBA must have worked for not less than three years (after the qualifying examination and experience is considered up to date of Notification) in an establishment and must be working in an organization within a radial distance of 40 km from the institution in which the candidate seeks admission.

MBA-Infrastructure Management (FT) : Admission to MBA-Infrastructure Management course shall be open for the candidates who have passed the Bachelor degree in Engineering/Architecture with not less than fifty percent i.e. integer 50% (rounding -off of aggregate percent is not permitted) of the marks in the
aggregate of all the years of the degree examinations. However, in the case of candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC / ST and Category I, the aggregate percent of marks of all the years of the qualifying examination shall not be less than forty five percent i.e. integer 45% (rounding -off of aggregate percent is not permitted).

MCA (FT) : Admission to MCA course shall be open for the candidates who have passed Bachelor degree with not less than fifty percent i.e. integer 50% (rounding-off of aggregate percent is not permitted) of marks in the aggregate of all the years of the degree examinations with Mathematics or Statistics or Computer Science or Computer Programming or Computer Applications or Business Mathematics or Business Statistics as one of the optional or elective at Degree Level. Provided further that a candidate who has studied and passed one of the subjects specified in the first proviso in the Pre-University Course with 50 % of marks in that subject shall also be considered for admission. However in the case of candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC / ST and Cat-I, forty five percent i.e. integer 45% (rounding -off of
aggregate percent is not permitted) of marks in that subject shall be considered for Admission.

Admission procedure: 1) The written test will be conducted for MBA course between 10.30 AM to 12.30 PM and for MCA course between 2.00 PM to 4.00 PM on 12-7-2009 (Sunday) at various centers as specified in Brochure supplied with the application form. 2) For both Karnataka & Non-Karnataka Students admission will be based solely on performance in written test (PGCET), then followed by counseling for
seat selection as per merit.

How to Apply : The application can be obtained on payment of Rs. 600/- ( Rs 300/- in case of Karnataka SC/ ST and Cat-I, on production of documentary proof) in the form of DD only, drawn in favour of the Member Secretary, CPAC payable at Belgaum.

Eligibility:

a) The candidates should be Indian National and should satisfy local/non-local status requirements laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations of Admission) Order, 1974 as amended up to date (as per G.O.Ms.No.25, date :19-03-2004 & G.O.Ms.No.108, Higher Education Department, dated 30-07-2005 and its amendments).

b) The Candidate other then Indian Nationals should satisfy the rules of the Universities concerned.

c) A pass (or) appearance at the final year examinations of Bachelor’s Degree (Except BOL and BFA) of any University in Andhra Pradesh or Any other University Recognized as equivalent thereto.

d) The candidate seeking admission into MBA course should have passed a Bachelor’s Degree Examination of not less then three years duration from any recognized University or equivalent thereof besides passing SSC or equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects.

e) The candidate seeking admission into MCA course should have passed a Bachelor’s Degree Examination or not less than three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics at 10+2 level (or) should have passed Bachelor’s Degree Examination of not less than 3 years duration in any discipline with Mathematics as one of the subjects.

f) The candidates who are appearing for the final year degree examination shall also be eligible to appear for ICET-2009

g) Admission into any college depends on its Recognition/Affiliation by the Statutory Bodies.

h) Qualifying marks in ICET-2009 is 25% and no minimum marks prescribed for SC/ST candidates.

Mere qualification in the entrance test does not entitle a candidate to have been admitted into MBA/MCA COURSE unless the candidate:

(i) appears before the on-line counseling at any of the Counseling Centres notified.

(ii) applies in response to the admission notification issued by the authority concerned (for distance mode) satisfies the eligibility conditions of admission stipulated by the authority concerned.

Sale of Application Forms:

Prescribed application form for the entrance test together with instructions booklet can be obtained in person on payment of Rs.250/- in cash at (i) all the Head Post Offices in A.P. , (ii) all the Post Offices located on the University campuses, and (iii) the e-seva centres in Andhra Pradesh.

Submission of Application forms:

Duly filled-in application forms (placed in the envelope supplied) may be submitted along with relevant documents by paying postal charges through the Head Post Office to The Convener, ICET- 2009, Andhra University College of Engineering, Visakhapatnam - 530 003 (A.P.) India on or before 28-03-2009 up to 5.00 pm. The application forms may also be submitted on or before.

In the form of DD drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favour of The Secretary, APSCHE, payable at Hyderabad. In complete application forms and application forms received after the specified date and time will summarily be rejected.

Submission of Application Online:
Application also can be submitted online. However, a copy of the application downloaded along with passport size photograph and D.D. for Rs.250/- drawn in favour of “The Secretary, APSCHE”, payable at Hyderabad is to be sent to the Convener, ICET -2009.

NIMCET 2009 MCA Admissions in NIT 2009

The admission to first year of MCA programme offered by all the NITs for the year 2009-10 will be based on the Rank obtained in NIMCET09 only. Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad will conduct NIMCET 2009.

Eligibility:

Indian Nationals having minimum 60% marks (6.5/10 CGPA) in each of the examinations of

(i) 12th level and

(ii) Bachelor’s Degree of Full Time 3 year duration from a recognized University with Mathematics/Statistics/Business Mathematics as one of the subjects in any one semester/year in all the above (i) and (ii) mentioned courses, are eligible to apply.

The SC/ST candidates with minimum 55% marks (6.0/10 CGPA) are eligible. The candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examination are also eligible to appear for NIMCET09. Such candidates shall have to furnish the proof of fulfilling the eligibility criteria of NIMCET09 preferably at the time of Counselling/Admission but not later than 31st July, 2009, failing which, their admission may be cancelled by the respective NITs.

The State of Eligibility is the state from where the candidate passed/ appeared for graduation.

Admission Methodology
A NIMCET09 application form is applicable for both the Entrance Examination and for admission to MCA at all the NITs offering MCA programme. Candidates are not required to apply separately to each NIT for admission. The admission to MCA programme in all the 11 participating NITs will be based on NIMCET09 rank as well as their choices to be opted during the counselling/admission process. Details of the counselling process shall be notified on the NIMCET09 web site in due course. The candidates are advised to check the website
www.nimcet09.mnnit.ac.in regularly for updates.

The counselling will be held in June 2009.
After admission, NITs do not permit transfer from one NIT to another in any circumstances. Candidates once allotted a seat in any particular NIT will have to take admission at that NIT only.

The general eligibility to write NIMCET is the same for all NITs. Admission criteria and fee structure may differ from one Institute to the other. Such details can be obtained from respective Institute websites, URLs of which are given in the Table of Participating Institutions.

WEB ENABLED ON-LINE APPLICATION FORM
The candidates are required to fill in web enabled on-line application forms from any place of their convenience. Also they are required to take a print out of the electronic submission and send it by post along with copies of 10+2+3 (Graduation) Marks Sheets/Certificates and a Demand draft as detailed below

Application Fee
The Application Fee for the Entrance Examination of the MCA programme is Rs. 700/- for OPEN/OBC and Rs. 350/- for SC/ST candidates. Candidates will have to take Demand Draft of appropriate amount depending on their category drawn in favour of “NIMCET09”, payable at Allahabad. Candidates are advised to write their name, address and Mobile/Phone Number on the reverse side of the Demand Draft.

MAH-MCA-CET 2009 Application Process

ADMISSIONS TO FIRST YEAR OF FULL TIME POST GRADUATE COURSE IN MASTER IN COMPUTER APPLICATIONS (MCA) FOR THE YEAR 2009-2010

Applications are invited for MAH-MCA-CET 2009 for admission to First Year of three-year Full Time Post Graduate Degree Course in MCA in the Government, University Managed, University Departments and Unaided Institutes in the Maharashtra State.

Eligibility Criteria for appearing to MAH-MCA-CET 2009:
Candidate should have passed with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate ( 40% marks in aggregate in case of candidates of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only) in Bachelor’s degree/Master’s Degree in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities.
OR
Appeared for the final year examination of Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities.

Availability of Information Brochure alongwith Application Kit :
The Director of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai continues the system of online receipt of application form for MCA for the year 2009-10.
• Information brochure alongwith the Application Kit for the aspiring candidates will be available at the
select post offices mentioned below only during working hours from 09/02/2009 to 20/02/2009
(excluding Public Holidays) against the payment of the application form processing fees.
• It is mandatory to procure the information brochure and go through it carefully. The CET that will be conducted in pursuance of this advertisement is subject to the rules and regulations set out in this information brochure. The further admission process, especially in respect of Private Unaided Institutes will be in terms of the clarification read with aforesaid rules and regulations.
• Submission of the application form in response to this advertisement will amount to accepting the afore said rules & regulations unequivocally by the applicant and upon such submission it will be presumed that the applicant agrees and accepts these rules & regulations as legal, valid and correct. It will not be open for any applicant, once having submitted the application form to question the legality, validity and correctness of these rules & regulations.
• The Centralized Admission Process will consist of first 2 rounds of allotment and the third (i.e. last)round of counseling. Candidates are instructed to carefully read the Annexure-I of the Information Brochure to understand the eligibility criteria for participating in each round.
• NRI candidates are eligible to apply for admission against Institute level seats in Private Unaided Management Institutes. Please refer information Brochure for details.

• J & K Migrant candidates who wish to apply against J & K Migrant quota and also against OMS quota are required to pay total fee of Rs. 1500/- (Two separate receipts of Rs.750/- each). Such candidates will be required to register as both J&K Migrant and OMS candidate and one Hall ticket will be generated after confirmation of online application form.
• This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances.
Submission and Confirmation of Online Application Form :
• Aspiring candidates will be able to submit and confirm the Online Application form through the website www.dte.org.in/mca through any computer connected to Internet.
• For the submission and confirmation of the online Application Form the candidates are required to use
the Application ID and Password provided in the Application Kit. Candidates are also required to upload his/her photo with signature as per the instructions given in the Application Kit. Candidates are advised to preserve the Application Kit carefully and not to disclose the Application ID & Password to others to avoid impersonation.
• In order to take the printout of the Online submitted Application form and the printout of the Hall Ticket for the CET, it is mandatory for all the candidates to confirm the Online submitted Application form and such confirmed applications only will be considered valid for further processing.
• Applications sent by Post/Courier etc. to ARCs/DTE office will be rejected and no communication in this regard will be done with the candidates.
• It should be noted that no documents are required to be submitted at this stage. Candidates are advised to keep the necessary documents ready at the time of Document verification stage as per scheduled.

• Candidates are required to approach the identified post offices mentioned above during the working hours of the respective Post Offices for obtaining Information Brochure alongwith Application Kit.
• Candidates may also approach ARC cum Facilitation Centers (given in Annexure-V of Information Brochure) to scan & upload photo, submit & confirm the Online Application Form. Candidates are required to pay facilitation charges of Rs. 50/- in cash towards scanning, printing etc. at these centers.
• To facilitate candidates from Outside of Maharashtra State, the MAH-MCA-CET 2009 examination will also be conducted at Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bhopal and Kolkatta.
