MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2009 on 15th February 2009

COMMON ENTRANCE TEST FOR ADMISSION TO FIRST YEAR OF MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDM COURSE FOR THE YEAR 2009-2010

Candidates seeking admission to AICTE approved full time MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDM course for the academic year 2009-2010 are hereby informed that Common Entrance Test (CET) will be conducted as per the schedule given below:

Disaster Management Institute in Mumbai by BMC

The BMC is planning to set up a disaster management institute in collaboration with the disaster management centre (DIRC) in Japan,
additional municipal commissioner Kishore Gajbhiye announced on Tuesday. He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of Mumbai Emergency Management Exercise (MEMEx), a week-long disaster preparedness exercise, at the university of Mumbai, Kalina.

MEMEx will provide training in emergency situation, medical response, hospital disaster preparedness and pre-hospital care. This training will be extended to medical officials, paramedics, BMC employees, emergency officers with the civic body such as the police, disaster management personnel and fire brigade officers.

Twenty-four international faculty members, including professionals from Cornell and Columbia universities as well as Harvard Humanitarian Initiative, will train the participants.

Fellow Programme in Management at IIM-Kozikode

Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) - 2009

The admission to FPM of IIMK is open to all Indian citizens, Non-Resident Indians, Persons of Indian Origin and foreigners.


Eligibility: (i) The candidates should possess one of the following qualifications.

Post-Graduate degree or equivalent in any discipline (including M.A, M.Sc., M.Com, MBA, MCA, M.Tech) with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA.

Professional qualifications of CA, ICWA and CS with at least 50% marks or equivalent.

Professional qualifications such as MBBS and LLB with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA.

Engineering degrees, viz., B.Tech and BE, with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.

Those who are appearing for their final examinations for the above qualifications in 2008-09 are also eligible to apply. However, their final selection will be subject to successful completion of all requirements for the qualification latest by June 30, 2009.

(ii) Areas offering FPM in 2009-10 and the Qualifying Examination : A candidate applying for FPM of IIMK should have a valid test score not older than two years from the date of application in any of the following tests shown against each area of specialization:

1. Finance, Accounting and Control - CAT

2. Information Technology & Systems - CAT and GATE

3. Marketing - CAT and UGC/CSIR JRF

4. Organizational Behaviour & Human Resources - CAT, GMAT, GRE, UGC JRF

5. Quantitative Methods & Operations Management - CAT, GMAT/GRE

6. Strategic Management - UGC/CSIR JRF, GATE

Candidates possessing PGDM of IIMs with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.33 or equivalent will be eligible for applying directly, i.e., without again taking a qualifying examination.

IIMK encourages applications from Non-Resident Indians, Persons of Indian origin and foreign citizens. Such candidates should have a valid GMAT/GRE score of not older than 2 years from the date of application.


Application procedure: Application form can be obtained by sending a request to the address mentioned below, with an application fee of Rs.300 in the form of a crossed DD payable to Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode at Kozhikode (or Calicut ).

Alternatively, application forms can be downloaded from the IIMK website. In this case, the application fee should be sent as crossed DD along with the application.

A candidate can apply to a maximum of two Areas. However, separate application form should be enclosed for each Area. Application forms, complete in all respects, should be sent to the address as mentioned above. Application form should be accompanied by the following documents.

a) Two referee recommendations each for EACH area
b) Copies of all testimonials/ certificates/ mark sheets
c) Score card or proof of qualifying examination (CAT or other) as applicable
d) Application fee of Rs.300 (crossed DD) if application form has been downloaded from IIMK website
