Candidates for the unique self-financed program must meet the following criteria :

CAE Global Academy Gondia is one of 11 CAE Global Academy schools around the world. It operates to the highest standards and produces pilots that are well prepared to safely and efficiently operate their aircraft.

CAE Global Academy Gondia, also recognized as the National Flying Training Institute (NFTI) is a newly built and expanding state-of-the-art campus. It is in close proximity to the airport, and operates modern fleet of training aircraft.

With a capacity for 200 students per year, CAE Global Academy Gondia is the largest flight school campus in India. The school started operations after receiving Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) approval in February 2009.

CAE Global Academy in Gondia is a joint venture between the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and CAE.


CAE Global Academy offers three main integrated programs:

* Commercial Pilot License (CPL)

* Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL)

* Multicrew Pilot License (MPL)

An aviation certificate or license may also include a number of sub-qualifications or ratings. These specify in more detail the actual privileges of the license, including the types of aircraft that can be flown - single engine (SE) or multi-engine (ME), whether flight under instrument flight rules is allowed (Instrument Rating, or IR), and whether instructing and examining of trainee pilots can be done (Instructor of Examiner Rating).

Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi-IGRUA Ab-initio to CPL Course 2010

For Admission to : Ground and flying training to Ab-Initio for the issue of a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) (15 months, which may get extended) with multi-engine endorsement and instrument rating at Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Academi, Fursatganj Airfield, Raebareli (UP)- 229 302.

Eligibility : Passed 10 + 2 or its equivalent with physics, maths and English as main subjects with an aggregate of 55 percent in Physics and Maths (SC/ST/OBC candidates and general candidates having higher qualifications with Maths and Physics Subjects, minimum aggregate percent in Physics and Maths at 10+ 2 level is 50 percent). Minimum age limit is 17 years at the time of joining the course. Selection will be based on performance in the written test, pilot aptitude test (WOMBAT), viva and interview. The written test is one paper of two hours duration general English, Maths, Physics and reasoning (10+2 standard). Knowledge of physics, maths and English up to the level of 10+ 2 is required along with general awareness of current affairs and normal reasoning. Candidates who clear the written examination will undergo the pilot aptitude test and interview. Class I medical certificate is required before joining the course so that the students are in a position to start flying without further delay.
