WII M.Sc Wildlife Science Admissions 2013

The Wildlife Institute of India (WII), Dehra Dun an internationally acclaimed organization in the field of Wildlife Conservation and Research invites applications from highly motivated students having passion for wilderness for its prestigious two-year Master’s Programme in Wildlife Science for the Year 2013-2015.

Admission to this two-year course in M.Sc. Wildlife Science (affiliated to Saurashtra University, Rajkot, Gujarat)

Eligibility : Bachelor’s degree in Sciences, Medical Sciences, Engineering, Veterinary Science, Agriculture, Pharmacy, Social Science, Computer Science and Computer Applications or degrees recognized as equivalent thereof (should have studied in Science stream at Higher Secondary Education Board or other equivalent board).

Minimum of 55% aggregate marks in Bachelor’s degree. Candidate must produce result along with mark sheet of their graduation at the time of their personality and aptitude test, failing which their candidature will be treated as cancelled.

Eligible candidates will be required to appear for a written NET in any one of the centres (Bengaluru, Dehra Dun, Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi and Guwahati) which is nearest to his/her permanent residence. The NET will be for 2.5 hours. The test will have 30 marks multiple-choice questions on General Awareness including Current affairs, Quantitative skills, Geology, Geography, Sociology, Economics and Engineering; 40 marks multiple-choice questions in Wildlife sciences including Natural History, Biogeography, Ecology, Genetics, Vegetation science, Population ecology, Habitat ecology, Behavioural ecology, Conservation biology, Wildlife health and 30 marks Essay Questions covering conservation issues. Shortlisted meritorious candidates based on NET screening will be called to take a Personality and Aptitude Test (PAT) at Dehra Dun. Final selection to the Course will be made on the basis of combined merit of 50% marks obtained in the Bachelor’s degree examination and 50% of PAT.

Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal, a premier sectoral management institute, invites applications for one year M.Phil. programme in Natural Resource Management (Award of degree by Saurashtra University, Rajkot) commencing from July 2012. With a focus on climate change, the programme comprises of class work, field work, seminar, study tour (National as well as abroad) and dissertation.

Eligibility
Candidates must have a Post Graduate Degree/Diploma or its equivalent, recognized by an Indian University or Association of Indian Universities with the minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC-Non creamy/PD) in aggregate in the field of science/Engineering/ Management and related Social sciences (as decided by equivalence committee of the Institute). Those appearing in the final year of Post Graduation examination can also apply; provided they complete the eligibility criteria by June 2012.

Selection Process:
For in-service officers, the application should be forwarded through proper channel which will be screened at the Institute for direct interview. Candidates possessing UGC/CSIR/ICAR-NET certificate or PGDFM from IIFM with a minimum of 3.0 OGPA shall also be exempted from written test and be directly called for interview. Others have to qualify a written test conducted by the Institute. The cutoff score of the test will be decided by the Institute and shall have three components namely English ability,analytical ability and Natural Resource Management aptitude.

Fee : The total cost of the programme is Rs. 1,50,000/-

IIFM, a top level sectoral management school imparting managerial competence in forest,environment,development and allied sectors invites applications for its Post graduate Diploma in Forestry Management-PGDFM for the batch of 2012-2014.It is Two Year Full Time Residential Programme approved by AICTE and AIU and has a record of 100% campus placement.

Admission to the fully residential two year PGDFM is open to graduates from any discipline provided he/she fulfils the eligibility criteria and qualifies through the selection process.

The application form can also be downloaded from our website and in that case, the completed application form should accompany the Demand Draft of the specified amount drawn in favour of “Director, Indian Institute of Forest Management” payable at Bhopal.

Filled in application form, complete in all respect including the CAT registration number (which will be available on CAT vouchers issued by IIM) should reach IIFM Bhopal on or before 12th December 2011. Applicant should attach the photocopy of CAT voucher along with IIFM application form.

PGD in Forestry Management at IIFM Admissions 2010

Admission to the fully residential two year PGDFM is open to graduates from any discipline provided he/she fulfils the eligibility criteria and qualifies through the selection process.

Eligibility-:

Applicants should have (a) at least a three-years bachelor's degree in any discipline obtained through the 10+2+3 system or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), with minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST/PD) or equivalent CGPA.

Candidates appearing for the final year graduation examination are also eligible to apply provided they complete it before June 30, 2010 and fulfill the eligibility criteria as set by IIFM.

Admission Procedure-:

STEP-1: Common Admission Test (CAT)

All applicants desirous of seeking admission in PGDFM at IIFM, Bhopal have to appear for Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) between 28th November to 07th December 2009 by responding to their notification published in leading national dailies dated 30th August 2009. The CAT bulletin can be obtained from selected branches of Axis Bank on payment before 1st October 2009. IIFM will use the CAT score only for short-listing the candidates for two year full time post graduate programme. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.

STEP-2: IIFM Application Form :

In addition to CAT, the candidates should fill up a separate application form for admission to PGDFM. This form can be obtained either personally or by post by sending a Demand Draft of Rs 900/- (Rs 450/- for SC / ST) drawn in favour of "Director, Indian Institute of Forest Management" payable at Bhopal. Alternatively, the form can be downloaded from the website and the filled in hardcopy of the form along with the Draft for the specified amount should be sent to IIFM. Alternatively the information bulletin and the application form can be purchased by paying cash at the various centres of the following coaching institutes (Photocopy of the cash receipt issued by the coaching institute should be attached) :

2.PT Education

Filled in application form, complete in all respect including the CAT registration number (which will be available on CAT admit card, issued by IIM) should reach IIFM Bhopal on or before 10th December 2009. Applicant should attach the photocopy of CAT admit card along with IIFM application form.

STEP-3: Group Discussion/Interview:

Candidates shortlisted on the basis of CAT score, will be called for Group Discussion and Interview at IIFM, Bhopal during February/March 2010.

Reservation-:

15%, 7.5% and 3% of the seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the SC, ST, and PD respectively, provided they meet the minimum selection criteria as specified by IIFM. The Institute will also be implementing the OBC quota for non-creamy layer in a phased manner.

The PGDFM application form and bulletin will be dispatched to the candidates soon after receiving their requests along with the required application fee. IIFM will not be responsible for any postal delay or loss. If a candidate, after having made a request to IIFM with the requisite money, does not receive the application form, she/he may enquire about it through Phone, Fax or E-mail.

Candidates should ensure that the completed PGDFM application form reaches IIFM by December 10, 2009
