S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) invites applications for PG Diploma course. Applications are invited for the 2 year full-time post graduate diploma in management (PGDM) programme for the academic year 2015-2017.


The application window will remain open from 17 September 2014 to 30 November 2014.

Ranked among the top 10 programmes in India, SPJIMR’s PGDM is a two year full time residential programme equivalent to an MBA

Eligibility :
To be eligible, an applicant has to have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (10+2+3). Students in the final year of graduation can also apply. SPJIMR accepts CAT 2014, XAT 2015 and GMAT scores (test taken between 1st Jan 2012- 15th Dec 2014) as well. A total of 36 seats are available for PIOs and foreign nationals.

Choice of Specialisation at the Time of Application
SPJIMR’s PGDM programme asks applicants to select their specialisation at the application stage itself. A choice at this stage helps Achieve segmentation at the time of admission based on differentiated need of the recruiting organisations
Participants develop a clear and sharp focus early on in the programme
Broaden the spectrum of recruiters as participants graduate
Avoid overcrowding in one specialisation and mitigates the risk of periodic downturns across sectors
The Selection Process

The selection process of SPJIMR assesses not only intellectual readiness in terms of academics but also emotional readiness, work experience, extracurricular activities and aptitude for and befitting the Institute’s mission of value-based leadership.

A Differentiated Approach to Admissions
The admissions process shortlists applicants on the basis of their profiles (subject to a minimum qualifying test score, which is set at 85 percentile in case of CAT/XAT or a GMAT score of 650). The admission approach thus emphasises the interview process where applicants come face-to-face with the interviewing team from SPJIMR. The Institute calls in as many as 2,500 plus aspirants for interviews. The Institute seeks to interview as many applicants as possible and may call in more this year.

Eventually, the final merit list is based on a composite score which takes into account the applicant’s academic record, entrance test scores, relevance of work experience for the chosen specialisation and performance in two rounds of group interviews.

SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) has introduced a programme WMP (Women Manager Programme)- tailor made for women looking to involve themselves in family business. This programme aims to help women from business families to learn and understand business concepts with equal weightage on family and business issues.

Women Manager Program (WMP) is a very novel program initiated by the FMB department of SPJIMR. FMB department has launched this program to help the women of family business to learn and understand business concepts with equal weightage on family and business issues.

The participants are from all over India and have wide and varied business interest. The participant profile includes women who are thickly involved in business (either their own or family business) and those women also, who are thickly involved in household activities and are aspiring to join family business or even start on their own.

SPJIMR PGCDM is the first program being offered by the CEdSS to develop a distinctive space in the arena of continuing education for mid-level development practitioners in the social sector.

SPJIMR PGCDM offers a modular program spread over 3 semesters with a focus on off-campus application exercises relevant to the sector with a mentor to guide during this time. It aims at preparing participants for higher responsibilities while continuing to work in their organizations.

Eligibility : Graduate (from any discipline) from a recognised University, with a minimum two years of relevant work experience. The medium of instruction is English and the participants are expected to have basic proficiency in computers.

Applications are to be made online only. The application-processing fee is Rs 1,200. It can be paid either by credit card or Demand Draft favouring 'S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research' payable at Mumbai or at the Authorised Cash collection Centres.

The selection criteria for calling candidates for interviews are based on multiple factors like:
CAT/XAT/GMAT score
Work Experience - more than 5 years
Past Academic Performance
Extra curricular activities, other interest
Accomplishments (Professional and Academic)

All the above factors along with the performance in the interviews are used to determine the eligibility of candidates for offering final admission. Selection will be largely determined by potential for lateral shift, clear career plans, sound purpose of taking up this programme and ability to map the relationship between these by the prospective candidate and SPJIMR's assessment of the above.

The PGPM programme gives participants a holistic view of the business; with an option to specialize in specific interest area, thus enhancing their expertise in the functional area of interest.

Finance/education loans-:
Banks like SBI, Corporation Bank & Union Bank of India provide loan based on the offer letter given by SPJIMR. SBI is also running a Scholar Scheme, under which they are providing educational loan to SPJIMR students without any guarantor or collateral.
