Tata Institute of Social Sciences-TISS short-term part-time Diploma In Counselling Admissions 2011

Focus of the course : to integrate the core skills of counselling, genuineness empathy and positive regard and practice the basic counselling skills.

Eligibility : Bachelor's degree / equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year bridge course pattern of study or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education) from a recognized university. Preference will be given to those with work experience in clinical, social and developmental settings.

Application : Contact the Centre of Lifelong Learning at TISS.

Selection : Those satisfying the eligibility requirements will be called for written test / interview by the selection committee. The list of selected candidates will be notified on the institute's notice board and website.

TISS Diploma in Counselling Admissions 2010

Tata Institute of Social Sciences-TISS Admissions 2010

Duration : One year, part-time, evening programme: three hours a day, (Monday to Friday)

Eligibility : A Bachelor's degree, in any discipline, of a minimum of three years duration or its equivalent from a recognised university. Preference will be given to those with work experience in clinical, social and developmental settings. Also, all NGO personnel involved in direct work with people in fields, such as health, mental health and education, and corporate sector personnel.

Course details : It aims to develop a greater awareness of the "self" as a tool for change in the counselling process and build personal qualities for growth and professional developments as necessary requisites for effective counselling.

Focus of the course: To systematically understand the purpose, scope, types, theories and approaches to counselling with a focus on their relevance to practice and to develop competencies to plan and engage in relevant interventions for effective counselling.
