K.R.Narayanan National Institute of Visual Science & Arts Admissions 2014

K.R.Narayanan National Institute of Visual Science & Arts is an innovative venture in professional film / audio-visual training and a research centre of international standards established by the Government of Kerala at Thekkumthala in Kottayam District of Kerala.

The Institute announces admissions to the first batch of programmes – 2014. Applications are invited for admission to the Three Year Full-Time Diploma Programmes in:

* Script Writing and Direction
* Editing
* Cinematography
* Audiography
* Animation and Visual Effects
* Acting

The candidates should have passed the Plus Two course (Higher Secondary) or equivalent. Those who have appeared for the final examination of the Plus Two course and awaiting results can also apply subject to production of the certificate or mark sheet of the qualifying examination at the time of admission. The upper age limit is 40 years as on 1st June, 2014.

The eligible candidates have to undergo a two stage screening- a preliminary Entrance Examination conducted at all India level followed by an Orientation Programme-cum-Interview for the shortlisted candidates.

The entrance examination Centres will be at Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Kozhikode, Chennai, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata and New Delhi.

The entrance examinations will be conducted at the selected venues on 4th May, 2014.

Film and Television Institute of India (FTI), Pune, invites applications for the following courses for 2014 session.

* One Year Post Graduate Certificate Course in Feature Film Screenplay Writing (Film)

* One Year Post Graduate Certificate Course in Direction (TV)

* One Year Post Graduate Certificate Course in Electronic Cinematography (TV)

* One Year Post Graduate Certificate Course in Video Editing (TV)

* One Year Post Graduate Certificate Course in Sound Recording and TV Engineering (TV)


Selection will be based on Entrance Examination for all the courses will be held on 15.06.2014 at the following centres: Kolkata, Pune, New Delhi, Bangalore, Bhopal.

To Apply : The Candidates can also apply online through FTII Website from 24.3.2014. The prospectus containing the application form and other details may be obtained on request along with a demand draft of Rs. 2150/- for General Category and Rs. 650/- for SC, ST and Economically Backward ( candidates should enclose attested copy of Parent's BPL card with the application form ) drawn on any of the Nationalised Banks in favour of "Accounts Officer, Film and Television Institute of India," payable at Pune.

Requests for prospectus by post will be entertained only after 24th March, 2014 and till 12th April, 2014. Prospectus can also be obtained personally from the information and facilitation counter (Tutorial Section), Film and Television Institute of India and you may also apply online till 3rd May, 2014 on www.ftiindia.com.

The prospectus will be sent by Speed Post. Candidates are advised to see that completed applications should reach in time.

CEC E-Course on Editing for Films & Television

Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC) India, is launching a Worldwide e-Course on Editing for Films and Television. The registration for the course starts on 15th November 2010. The course will commence on 3rd January, 2011 and will be completed by 18th February, 2011. About 72 hour of classroom teaching have been condensed into about 13 hours of video programmes in 25 episodes of half an hour duration each. There will be seven live interactive sessions with the subject expert to clarify queries of the participants.

Basically designed for film and video editors, this course aspired to give an insight into the art and craft of editing. It will familiarize the participants with a range of activities required for telling a story through visuals and sound. Along the way it touches upon several issues connected with editing, right from its basic concepts to the technical aspects of electronic editing on linear and non-linear platform.
