JEE Advanced 2014 for Admissions to IITs and ISM

Candidates aspiring to join the undergraduate program in Engineering, Architecture and Sciences at all IITs and ISM Dhanbad, may please note that the schedules of JEE Advanced 2014 are as follows

25th May 2014 (Sunday : Paper 1 (9:00-12:00 Hrs IST) / Paper 2 (14:00-17:00 Hrs IST)

Top 1,50,000 (including all categories) in the merit list of JEE Main 2014 (Paper 1) will be eligible to write JEE Advances 2014

They should register online at http://jeeadv.iitkgp.ac.in/ immediately after declaration of JEE Main 2014 results

Registration fee as per the following schedule has to be depsited through Bank Challan after the online registration

Male : GE ,OBC Rs 2000/-

Male : SC, ST and PwD Rs 1000/-

Female : All categories no fees

Overseas Candidates : All 220 US$

Each paper will have separate sections in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

For admission to undergraduate courses at all IITs IIT - BHU Varanasi and ISM Dhanbad

Examination Schedule

April 8, 2012 : Paper 1 : 09.00 - 12.00 hrs.
(Sunday) : Paper 2 : 14.00 - 17.00 hrs.

Paper 1 and Paper 2 each will have separate sections in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. Both papers will be of objective type, designed to test comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of candidates.

Syllabus for this examination will be available on the websites of all IITs.

The candidate can submit the application form either On-line or Off-line.

On-line application process: Monday - 31 October,2011- 10 December, 2011

Sale of Off-line Applications : 11 November, 2011- 05 December, 2011

IIT-JEE 2009 cut-offs likely to be lower

Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) conducted on this Sunday for admission to the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) witnessed around 25pc increase this year, conducted at 800 centres across the country.

JEE is conducted for admission to 8,000 seats across 15 IITs situated at Bhubaneshwar, Bombay, Delhi, Chennai, Roorkee, Kharagpur, Kanpur, Patna, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Indore and Rajasthan along with Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, and Indian School of Mines University (ISMU), Dhanbad.

This year cut-offs are likely to be lower than last year, one of the reasons being that the paper was relatively more difficult. This has been decided by the IIT directors to increase the 40% relaxation in scores to 50% from 2009.

The IIT-JEE paper had two papers, the first paper consisting 60 questions and 80 marks per subject with total 240 marks. Paper two had 57 questions with total 240 marks.
