CSIR-NBRI is a premium plant institute under the umbrella of CSIR devoted to basic and advanced research in area of plant sciences. NBRI's major research thrust includes plant diversity characterization and documentation, molecular analysis of genetic diversity, botanical informatics, plant diversity prospecting, plant microbial interaction, floriculture, biotechnological approaches including "Omics" and transgenics for improvement of plants, plant environment interaction including phytoremediation, biomass and eco-auditing, phytochemistry, herbal drugs and ethno pharmacology. CSIT-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar, a national laboratory of CSIR invites applications for Ph.D admission in Chemical and Biological Sciences for January 2012 session. The main research areas include; Specially Inorganic and Nano materials, Catalysis and Absorption, Salt and Marine Chemicals, Coordination Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Polymer and Membrane Sciences, Renewable Energy, Stress Tolerance and Wasteland Research, Marine Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Stress Genomics and Proteomics, Transgenics, Metagenomics, Extremophiles, Marine Macro/Micro Algae and Environmental Sciences. Eligibility - A Master's degree in Science or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Medicine having a valid National level fellowship (JRF/SRF of various funding agencies), INSPIRE or other equivalent fellowships.
