Kerala Medical Post Graduate Super Speciality Courses Admissions 2009
Applications are invited for the Entrance Examination for admission to Medical Post
Graduate Super Speciality Courses, Kerala 2009 in the Medical Colleges at
Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam and Kozhikode in the following Specialities.
1. M. Ch. Paediatric Surgery 6. M. Ch. Gastroenterology Surgery
2. M. Ch. Plastic Surgery 7. D. M. Cardiology
3. M. Ch. Genito Urinary Surgery 8. D. M. Gastroenterology
4. M. Ch. Thoracic Surgery 9. D. M. Neurology
5. M. Ch. Neuro Surgery 10. D. M. Nephrology
Eligibility for Admission:
(a) Nativity
(i) The applicant should be an Indian citizen
(ii) Should have passed the Post Graduate degree (MD/MS/Dip. N.B) from any of the
Medical College recognized by the Medical Council of India
(iii)Should have done at least one year compulsory rural service/senior residency /
Government Service in any of the Government Medical Colleges/Government
Hospitals in Kerala.
(iv)In case sufficient number of candidates fulfilling the condition as per (iii) above is
not available, candidates who are otherwise qualified will also be considered, based
on the merit in the entrance test.
(v)Only candidates who have passed out from the Medical Colleges in Kerala will be first
considered for preparation of rank list. In case, sufficient number of candidates in
the above category is not available for admission for any reason, candidates from
other states will be considered for the balance seats, based on the merit in the
entrance test.
(b) Academic qualifications:
(i) M.B.B.S. Degree
(ii) Appropriate Post Graduate Degree (MD/MS) or appropriate Diploma of National
Board. The M.D./M.S. Degree should be obtained from any University in Kerala or from
Universities outside Kerala in which case they should be recognized as equivalent by
Universities in Kerala. Service candidates who have appeared or appearing for MD / MS
Examination can also apply. They should submit their P G Degree Certificate at the time of Counseling.
(iii) Registration: Candidates should have got their M B B S and P G Degrees registered permanently with State [T. C.] Medical Council and the proof should be submitted at the time of Counseling.
(iv) Age: Upper age limit for General Merit Candidates will be 45 years and it will be 47 years for Service Candidates, as on the last date of submission of Application
(13.06.2009).
Selection and Entrance Examination: Candidates desirous of being considered
against General seats will have to appear for the Entrance Examination to be
conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Thiruvananthapuram.
All General Merit quota candidates shall have to qualify the Entrance Examination
conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala by securing minimum
of 50% marks. For Service candidates the eligibility will be as per the provisions of
Kerala Medical Officers Admission to Post Graduate Courses under service quota Act
2008.Accordingly the selection of service candidates will be based on the seniority in service and they do not have to appear for the Entrance Examinations. The Entrance
Examination will be conducted at Thiruvananthapuram on 27.06.2009 (Saturday) and
28.06.2009 (Sunday). It will consist of two Papers, each of one and half hours duration and the questions will be of objective type (Multiple Choice Questions). Appearance in Paper I and II of the Entrance Examination is compulsory for admission to the course.
Details regarding the courses, eligibility are given in the Prospectus issued by the
Director of Medical Education (DME).
Application forms: Prospectus and Application form will be available from
23.05.2009 onwards in the website “www.cee-kerala.org” (See Clause VII of the
Prospectus). The Application procedure is common for General and Service candidates.
Candidates seeking admission to this course can apply in the on line application form
provided in the website “www.cee-kerala.org” of the Commissioner for Entrance
Examinations and then remit the required fee at any SBT Branch. Candidates residing
outside Kerala state can remit the application fee by way of demand Draft drawn from
any nationalized bank in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram. Application fee for General/Service candidates is Rs.1500/-. Service candidates who seek admission under General Quota also, should pay a total amount of Rs.3000/- [Please see Clause VII (a)]. Application forms will not be sold from the office of the CEE or office of the DME. Application fee once remitted will not be refunded under any circumstances.
Last date and time for receipt of filled-in application forms: Candidates, seeking
admission should take a print out of the application form, affix passport size photograph duly attested by the candidates in the space provided, and forward their completed application with all the required documents, including original bank voucher, mentioned in clause VII (d) of the prospectus to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram - 695 001, either by Registered Post, by Speed Post or Hand Delivery so as to reach him before 5 pm on 13.06.2009 [Saturday]. Applicants to Service quota seats should complete all the procedures mentioned in clause VII (a), (b) & (c). However, instead of forwarding the printout of the application form to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, the service quota candidates are required to forward the application along with copies of all required documents, to their Controlling Officer as stipulated in the Prospectus, on or before 13.06.2009. Service candidates seeking admission in General Merit quota will have to forward the application form both to the Controlling Officer and Commissioner for Entrance Examinations. Late, defective and incomplete applications will be summarily rejected. No correspondence will be undertaken in this regard. The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations will not be responsible for any postal delay.
Candidates will not be allowed, either to include any information in the application
form or to submit any certificates / documents claiming reservation or any benefits,
after the submission of the application, under any circumstances. Candidates must note that, they have to obtain the required certificates in the body of the application form itself, wherever specified. The certificates that are attached separately along with the application form will not be considered under any circumstances.
The CEE will conduct the Entrance Examination, prepare and publish the rank list of Candidates who qualify in the Entrance Examination and forward the same to the
Director of Medical Education. The rank list will be made available in the website
“cee-kerala.org”.
The selection, admission and allotment of seats including those under Service Quota
will be made by the DME through a Centralized Allotment Process [CAP] and will be
based on various provisions laid down in the Prospectus, approved by the Government
of Kerala.
