All India Merchant Navy Entrance Test for Admission in

to be conducted by Bharat Shipping Limited for admission in above mentioned courses in the country run by the Institute approved by D.G. Shipping Govt. of India or other National / International authorities.

Eligibility Criteria

Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply (2) Eligibility as per criteria mentioned in prospectus. The Prospectus is available in selected branches of Axis Bank and must be read by the applicants before applying. The cost of Application - cum - Examination fees is Rs.2500/- Prospectus cum Application form can also be obtained by Post, by sending a crossed Bank Draft of Rs.2600/- drawn in favour of "Controller of Examinations, AIMNET - 2011" The request should reach the Controller of Examinations, Bharat Shipping Limited 26/32, Pal Mohan Sadan, East Patel Nagar, New Delhi - 110 008 on or before 7th December, 2010, The address at which Application form cum Prospectus is required should be written clearly in Capital Letters and with Pin code. the following words should be written on top of the envelope "Request for Application Form AIMNET - 2011". BSL will not be responsible for delay / nonreceipt of Application form caused by illegible or in complete address. Prospectus can also be obtained by hand from the Reception Counter of Examination Section, BSL against Bank Draft of Rs.2500/- in favour of "Controller of Examinations, AIMNET - 2011" as specified above payable at New Delhi.

Indian Postal Orders, Money orders Cheques or cash will Not be accepted for Postal / Counter Sale.

Indian Maritime University (IMU) invites applications for admission to the course in IMU Campuses and Affiliated Colleges for February 2011 Batch.

Eligibility Criteria : Applicants must be 10+2 or equivalent from a recognised Board or University with an aggregate of 55% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and minimum of 50% in English either at matriculation or higher secondary level. Selection Procedure : Selection is based on performance of candidate in IMU-Common Entrance Test (IMU-CET) which is scheduled to be held on 19th December, 2010 (Sunday) between 10am to 1 pm at different centres throughout the country.

How to Apply : Detailed brochure consisting of application form can be downloaded from www.imu.tn.nic.in. * B.Tech Naval Architecture and Ship Building
Eligibility - Pass in HSC (10+2)from a Recognized Board with 50% Average in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

* B.Tech - Marine Engineering
Eligibility - Pass in HSC (10+2) from a Recognized Board with 60% Average in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

* B.Sc - Nautical Science

Indian Maritime University Diploma in Nautical Science

Indian Maritime University Diploma in Nautical Science leading to B.Sc. (Nautical Science) – Admissions 2010

Eligibility-:

1 Pass in 10 + 2 examination from a recognized Board/University with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM), with not less than 55% marks in PCM aggregate. OR

With Physics as an individual subject in any one of the years of B.Sc., with not less than 50% marks in the final year of B.Sc., from a recognized University provided that the candidate must have passed 10 + 2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) from a recognized Board. OR

B.E./B.Tech or its equivalent degree from I.I.T. or from a college recognized by AICTE/UGC/DEC. AND

2 Should have passed with not less than 50% marks in English as a separate subject, at either 10th or 12th standard or in the Degree programme conducted by a recognized Board/University.

Note 1: Those appearing in eligibility educational qualification examination are also eligible to apply provided they meet all the eligibility criteria and produce the certificates to that effect.

Note 2: The candidates with three year Diploma from a recognized polytechnic are also eligible for making application for the entrance test as the three-year polytechnic Diploma is equated with 10+2 examination and accordingly their PCM aggregate in the Diploma programme shall not be less than 55%.

Age Limit-: Not more than 25 years. The age limit is relaxable by 2 years in case of female candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.


To Apply-: The Student Handbook and Prospectus can be obtained from IMU Chennai on payment of Rs.800/- in cash (Rs.450/- for SC / ST candidates). It can also be downloaded from IMU website i.e. http://www.imu.tn.nic.in . It can also be obtained by POST by sending Demand Draft for Rs.800/- drawn in favour of IMU and payable at Chennai by addressing your request to the Head-Nautical Science Department, Indian Maritime University, East Coast Road, Uthandi, Chennai 600 119.

The duly filled in application should reach in an envelope super scribed “Application form for Diploma in Nautical Science leading to B.Sc. (Nautical Science)” to the Head (Nautical Science) IMU, Chennai.
