IMU - VISAKHAPATNAM CAMPUS.
The selection for admission to 3 - year B.Sc. (Nautical Science) Degree course at T. S.Chanakya, Navi Mumbai, Mumbai Campus; 4-year B. Tech. (Marine Engineering) Degree course at Marine Engineering & Research Institute, Kolkata, Kolkata Campus & National Maritime Academy, Chennai, Chennai Campus; 3-year B.Sc. (Maritime Science) Degree course at Marine Engineering & Research Institute, Mumbai, Mumbai Campus and 4 year B. Tech. (Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering) Degree course at Visakhapatnam Campus for the session commencing in August 2011 will be made through the Joint Entrance Examination 2011 conducted by IITs on 10.04.2011. There will be no separate Entrance Examination for admission to the above institutes/courses and only those candidates who secure Minimum Qualifying Marks for Ranking (MQMR) in the individual subjects for respective category in JEE-2011 will be called for counselling in order of merit in the month of July/August 2011. All Indian Nationals seeking admission to the above mentioned institutes /courses must fill up the application form for IIT-JEE-2011 and also a separate application form issued by Indian Maritime University, Mumbai Campus.
Seats: There are 185 seats in T. S. Chanakya, Navi Mumbai, Mumbai Campus; 246 in MERI-Kolkata, Kolkata Campus; 46 in MERI-Mumbai, Mumbai Campus; 80 in NMA-Chennai, Chennai Campus and 40 seats in Visakhapatnam Campus. Out of these, 10 seats are reserved for foreign nationals.
Academic Qualification: 1. A candidate must have passed (10 + 2) Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English.
AND
2. Candidates belonging to General & OBC categories must secure at least 60% marks and SC&ST candidates must secure at least 55% marks in aggregate in the (10+2) Examination.
Date of Birth: Candidates belonging to General & OBC categories must be born on or after 01.10.1986 and those belonging to SC & ST categories must be born on or after 01.10.1981.
Application form along with information brochure giving the details of the Degree Programmes of the above Institutes, Medical standards etc. can be obtained
from the following designated branches of Syndicate Bank all over India on payment of Rs. 800/- (General / OBC category) and Rs. 450/- (in case of SC/ST category).
The application form along with information brochure can also be obtained by post from the Indian Maritime University, Mumbai Campus, Karave, Nerul, Navi Mumbai – 400 706 by sending a self addressed stamped envelope 12" x 10" size with stamp worth Rs. 85/- alongwith a DD of Rs. 800/- (General /OBC Category) and Rs. 450/- (in the case of SC/ST category) drawn in favour of Indian Maritime University, Mumbai Campus and payable at Mumbai.
The application form along with information brochure can be downloaded from the IMU website www.imu.tn.nic.in. Such downloaded application forms are to be submitted along with the DD of Rs.800/-(General / OBC Category) and Rs.450/-(SC/ST Category) drawn in favour of Indian Maritime University, Mumbai Campus payable at Mumbai.
Special Information: The sale of application form commences at the above centres from 28.01.2011 and the application form duly filled in should be submitted
to the Indian Maritime University, Mumbai Campus, Karave, Nerul, Navi Mumbai – 400 706 on or before 22.03.2011. The counselling will be conducted in the month of July/August 2011 on the basis of the merit of the candidate in IIT-JEE - 2011 Examination. The courses will commence in mid August, 2011.

Indian Maritime University (IMU) invites applications for admission to the course in IMU Campuses and Affiliated Colleges for February 2011 Batch.
Eligibility Criteria : Applicants must be 10+2 or equivalent from a recognised Board or University with an aggregate of 55% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and minimum of 50% in English either at matriculation or higher secondary level. Selection Procedure : Selection is based on performance of candidate in IMU-Common Entrance Test (IMU-CET) which is scheduled to be held on 19th December, 2010 (Sunday) between 10am to 1 pm at different centres throughout the country.
