Cochin Shipyard Marine Engineering Admissions 2014

Cochin Shipyard Marine Engineering course approved by Director General of Shipping , Govt of India,is open to Graduate Engineers in Mechanical / Mechanical&Automation / Naval Architecture from institutions approved by All India Council of Technical Education or UGC. Maximum age limit is 28 years. Minimum qualifying marks, 50% marks in final year of Engineering graduation, and minimum 50% marks in English either in 10th standard or 12th standard.

Age Limit: 28 Yrs as on 01 Jan 2014

Every year there will be two batches - one batch commences on 1st of January and the second batch commences on 1st of August. The duration of the course is 12 months, and the course is fully residential

The Total fees for the course is Rs. 3,00,000/- including boarding & loading. Candidates have to pay the total amount of Rs. 3,00,000/- at the time of admission. For female candidates there will be a reduction of 50% in Tuition fees (subject to minimum 2 female candidates).

Eligibility:
For Undergraduate:

The candidate must be 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 50% in PCM subjects and 50% in English subjects of marks from a recognized Board or University.

Candidates should have a age minimum 17 years/ Maximum 25 years. Age relaxation for SC/ST 5 years.

For Postgraduate:
Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline with 50% of marks from a recognized university.

Indian Maritime University Diploma in Nautical Science leading to B.Sc. (Nautical Science) – Admissions 2010

Eligibility-:

1 Pass in 10 + 2 examination from a recognized Board/University with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM), with not less than 55% marks in PCM aggregate. OR

With Physics as an individual subject in any one of the years of B.Sc., with not less than 50% marks in the final year of B.Sc., from a recognized University provided that the candidate must have passed 10 + 2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) from a recognized Board. OR

B.E./B.Tech or its equivalent degree from I.I.T. or from a college recognized by AICTE/UGC/DEC. AND

2 Should have passed with not less than 50% marks in English as a separate subject, at either 10th or 12th standard or in the Degree programme conducted by a recognized Board/University.

Note 1: Those appearing in eligibility educational qualification examination are also eligible to apply provided they meet all the eligibility criteria and produce the certificates to that effect.

Note 2: The candidates with three year Diploma from a recognized polytechnic are also eligible for making application for the entrance test as the three-year polytechnic Diploma is equated with 10+2 examination and accordingly their PCM aggregate in the Diploma programme shall not be less than 55%.

Age Limit-: Not more than 25 years. The age limit is relaxable by 2 years in case of female candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.


To Apply-: The Student Handbook and Prospectus can be obtained from IMU Chennai on payment of Rs.800/- in cash (Rs.450/- for SC / ST candidates). It can also be downloaded from IMU website i.e. http://www.imu.tn.nic.in . It can also be obtained by POST by sending Demand Draft for Rs.800/- drawn in favour of IMU and payable at Chennai by addressing your request to the Head-Nautical Science Department, Indian Maritime University, East Coast Road, Uthandi, Chennai 600 119.

The duly filled in application should reach in an envelope super scribed “Application form for Diploma in Nautical Science leading to B.Sc. (Nautical Science)” to the Head (Nautical Science) IMU, Chennai.

B.Sc Nautical Science Admissions 2009 IMU

Indian Maritime University announces admissions in B.Sc. (Nautical Science) programme commencing from 1st August 2009. This course is aimed at orienting the cadets for the equivalent life at sea by providing vocationally oriented education and training so as to help them become officers in the Merchant Navy.

Selection Procedure: Candidates will be selected on the basis of an Entrance Test which will be held on 14th June 09 (Sunday) 10 am-1 pm.

The Programme will be offered through selected Training Institutes approved by IMU including four campuses at Chennai,Mumbai,Kolkata and Visakhapatnam.
