Postgraduate Diploma in Patent Law & Practice Admissions 2009
The one-year weekend Postgraduate Diploma in Patent Law & Practice commences from July 18, 2009 will provide thorough information on various aspects of patent laws to scientists, technologists, and lawyers. Apart from the theoretical knowledge, the students will also get sound practical training in searching, drafting, opposition and licensing of patents. This course will train the students to appreciate and understand the importance of patent management as a tool for innovation and technology transfer in the creation of greater wealth and value for corporates and individuals.

The program will include a mix of class lectures by expert faculty members, case studies and project assignments. An important factor in the program is the frequent interaction with highly reputed professional lawyers and consultants. Ample opportunity is provided to participants to try and transfer knowledge from classrooms to corporate boardrooms. The lectures run for eight months and are divided into semesters and subject modules. At the end of the lectures, participants are to work on a dissertation in their area of specialization.

Eligibility-:
Lawyers and science graduates from a recognized university, including R&D specialists, working professionals, scientists, research students etc are eligible. The selection process will include an interview conducted at the IIPS, Mumbai. The suitability assessment of the candidates will be based on their academic qualification, work experience and how they would benefit and practice this knowledge. Students taking their final year exam may also apply.
