HLL Academy, the academic wing of the central public sector enterprise HLL Lifecare Ltd, has announced two new courses, in clinical engineering and in management, as part of efforts to address the shortage of skilled manpower faced by the healthcare sector in these two key areas.

HLL Academy is offering a Post Graduate Diploma Course in Clinical Engineering and Management (PGDCEM) and a Post Diploma Course in Clinical Engineering and Management (PCEM) for graduate engineers and diploma holders.

The one-year courses will cover different aspects of product development, production, quality control, and marketing of various pharmaceuticals, medical devices and services.

The programmes will be offered through distance education supported by contact classes and will comprise two semesters of six months each. The curriculum has been designed to fulfil the requirements of healthcare institutions, procurement service agencies and equipment manufacture

The application form and prospectus can be obtained from HLL Academy Trivandrum on payment of Rs.200/- by cash. Detach the application form along with the prospectus. Filled application form need to be submitted with copies of Certificates and Mark lists (attested by Gazetted Officer), Student card duly filled with photograph and Course fee (Demand Draft of Rs.30,000/- for PGDCEM and Rs.15,000/- for PDCEM ) .

Eligibility :

VIVO Healthcare and Parkway College Singapore have announced a collaboration to launch International standard emergency medical services-EMS and allied health training programmes in India.

Emergency Medical Services(EMS) provide pre-hospital medical care to an injured or sick person. In EMS, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) courses are an entry-level healthcare program. Many paramedics, doctors, nurses and firefighters have used their EMT education and experience as a stepping stone to new careers. EMTs have the knowledge and skills to provide emergency care and transportation of patients in a pre-hospital setting. Their skills are critical in attending to emergencies, accidents and disasters.

The programmes will offer training and build skills for entry and specialist level jobs in the healthcare sector. They are targeted towards high school graduates and healthcare providers looking to upgrade their skills.
