IBSD Imphal Ph.D in Biological Sciences 2013
Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Imphal invites applications for admission to Ph.D Programmes in Biological Sciences to be commenced from January 2013.
Research areas at IBSD : Plant Bioresources, Microbial Bioresources and Animal Bioresources.
Eligibility:
* Candidates shall be eligible for registration in an ongoing programme of research in areas listed above in IBSD leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), if he/ she has obtained 55% marks in aggregate (B or B+ only in the 10 point scale) in the Master’s Degree Examination.
* A candidate belonging to SC/ST who has obtained 50% marks in aggregate in Master Degree examination shall be eligible for registration.
Selected candidates shall be eligible for the monthly stipend and annual contingency grant which will be higher than that of normal fellowship programme.

The objective of IBSD is to develop and utilize the rich bioresources of the Northeastern Region of the country through the application of modern tools of biology and biotechnology. The institute invites application for :
Ph.D Programme - JRF Positions
Broad area of research at the Institute is Plant Bioresources and Microbial Bioresources Selected candidates shall be eligible for the monthly stipend and annual contingency grant which will be higher than that of normal fellowship programmes.

The Institute invites applications from post graduate candidates for admission to the Ph.D programme in Biological Sciences starting from January, 2011. IBSD is an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India with excellent research facilities for sustainable development of bioresources using tools of modern biology. Broad area of research at the Institute is Plant Bioresources and Microbial Bioresources. Selected candidates shall be eligible for the monthly stipend and annual contingency grant which will be higher than that of normal fellowship programmes.
Ph.D programmes
Admission to the Ph.D programme shall be done in the month of December, 2010
The programme will start on 1st week of January
Candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC NET/DBT JRF/ICMR JRF/ICAR JRF examination are eligible for direct interview.
Eligibility :
Candidates shall be eligible for registration in an ongoing programme of research in IBSD leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D), if he or she has obtained 55% marks in aggregate (B or B+ only in the 10 point scale) in the Master's Degree Examination.
A candidate belonging to SC/ST who has obtained 50% marks in aggregate in Master Degree examination shall be eligible for registration
Selection Procedure :
If number of CSIR UGC NET / DBT JRF / ICMR JRF / ICAR JRF qualified applicants are more than the available PhD Postions selection will be based on only interview with the NET/JRF qualified candidates.
In case sufficient NET / JRF qualified applicants are not available shortlisted candidates (without NET/JRF but good academic records) may be called to appear for a written entrance test on 9th Dec, 2010 at IBSD at their own expenses.
Institute's written test qualified and or NET JRF qualified candidates shall be informed on same day to appear for an interview on 10th Dec, 2010 at IBSD, Imphal.
Selected candidates will be informed to join the Ph.D programme of IBSD within a week time from the date of announcement of result.
Candidates are requested to refer to the Institute website (www.ibsd.gov.in) for Application Form and Ph.D Notifications.
Application Procedure :
Application should be typed on A4 size paper in the prescribed format. Applications sent by email with scan copy of required enclosures will also be accepted and such applications should be sent to the following email address : ibsd_imp@bsnl.in
Each page of the typed application forms should be SIGNED by the candidate.
No application fee will be charged by the Institute.
Applications should be accompanied by attested copies of certificates and marksheets mentioning the division obtained.
TWO recent passport size photographs should be enclosed. One of these should be signed by the candidate and pasted on the application form.
A self addressed stamped (Rs.10/-) envelope of 10cm x 22 cm should be enclosed.
Hard copy of the duly filled applications should be sent to "THE DIRECTOR (I/C) INSTITUTE OF BIORESOURCES AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT TAKYELPAT, IMPHAL - 795001" so as to reach on or before 5th Dec, 2010.

Incomplete application forms and those received after the closing date will not be entertained. The decisions of the Admission Committee will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entertained in this regards.
