TERI University M. Tech Urban Development and Management Programme is designed to build a pool of competent professionals having required technical skills, managerial capabilities and understanding of social, economic, environmental and legal issues associated with urban development, infrastructure and real estate sector. The programme equips students for a successful career in:

* Urban local bodies, state governments and other public sector institutions involved in delivery of urban infrastructure and services
* Institutions conducting research, training and capacity building activities
* Private sector organizations engaged in real estate and urban infrastructure development and
* Consultancy firms, NGOs and CBOs participating in urban development activities.

The four-semester (two years) M. Tech. UDM programme is structured to enable students from diverse backgrounds to grasp the contents of programme through 1 year (Semester 1 and 2) of course work at the university and 1 year (Semester 3 and 4) of research project work

IGNOU Online Programme in Sustainable 2012

IGNOU's Chair for Sustainable Development (CSD) announces admission for its two online programmes, viz, Appreciation Programme on Sustainability Science (APSS) and Appreciation Programme on Sustainable Management of Wetlands (APSMW).

The core objective of APSS programme is to build the capacity of policy makers, administrators, scientists and educators as well as the general public in environmentally, economically and socially sustainable development. It will help those involved in agriculture to launch an era of ever-green revolution which can help enhance productivity in perpetuity without ecological harm.

APSMW,online programme aims to provide introduction to the importance of wetlands, the cause of their degradation, restoration efforts and sustainable management. It enhances awareness on the role of wetlands on social, cultural and livelihood dimensions of the dependent communities.

The objective of IBSD is to develop and utilize the rich bioresources of the Northeastern Region of the country through the application of modern tools of biology and biotechnology. The institute invites application for :

Ph.D Programme - JRF Positions
Broad area of research at the Institute is Plant Bioresources and Microbial Bioresources Selected candidates shall be eligible for the monthly stipend and annual contingency grant which will be higher than that of normal fellowship programmes.

Eligibility and other details :

Candidates shall be eligible to apply for pursuing research in an ongoing programme of IBSD, leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D), if he/she has obtained 55% of marks in aggregate (B or B+ only in the 10 point scale) in the Master's Degree Examination.

A candidate belonging to SC/ST who has obtained 50% of marks in aggregate in Master Degree examination shall be eligible to apply.

Admission to the Ph.D programme shall be done in the month of December, 2011.

The programme will start on 1st week of January.

Candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC Net/DBT-JRF/ICMR - JRF/ICAR - JRF examination are eligible for direct interview.
