Indian Maritime University (IMU), Mumbai, invites applications for One year PG Diploma in Marine Engineering (PGDME) Course for 2018 session.

Eligible Unmarried candidates (male/ female) of Indian nationality may apply.


Educational Qualification:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical & Automation Engineering / Naval Architecture, from a College approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) or the I.I.T.
Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in (Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering) from IMU are also eligible for admission to this course.

Fulfilling additional requirements of D.G. Shipping that of minimum 50% marks in final year and minimum 50% marks in English in 10th or 12th standard is must.
Age Limit :

Maximum 28 years on date of commencement of training. Age relaxation of five years for SC/ST candidates and two years for female candidates applicable

Processing fee :Rs.1,000/- by D.D. issued by a nationalised bank in the name of “Indian Maritime University, Mumbai Campus” payable at Mumbai.

Indian Maritime University-IMU invites application for Common Entrance Test (CET) for admissions into undergraduate and postgraduate programmes commencing from academic year 2013-14.

he Indian Maritime University (IMU) was established through an Act of Parliament on 14th November, 2008 as a Central University. IMU, a pioneer institution, encompasses seven well known legacy maritime institutions pan India, namely, National Maritime Academy

Eligibility:
For Undergraduate:

The candidate must be 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 50% in PCM subjects and 50% in English subjects of marks from a recognized Board or University.

Candidates should have a age minimum 17 years/ Maximum 25 years. Age relaxation for SC/ST 5 years.

For Postgraduate:
Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline with 50% of marks from a recognized university.

Indian Maritime University-IMU Mumbai Campus conducts one year pre-sea training course
for graduates in Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture. A few seats of this One year Pre-Sea Marine Engineering Training Course starting from 01st January, 2013 are likely to remain vacant after admission of sponsored candidates. These vacant seats will be filled up through this direct admission process. Eligible unmarried candidates (male/female) of Indian nationality may apply. This course also leads to award of Post Graduate Diploma in Marine Engineering (PGDME) by the University.

Eligibility : B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical / Naval Architecture / Mechanical &
Automation Engineering) Degree from AICTE approved college or the I.I.T., are eligible for admission to this course, subject to their fulfilling additional requirements of D.G.Shipping with minimum 50% marks in final year and minimum 50% marks in English in 10th or 12th standard.

The selection for admission to 3 - year B.Sc. (Nautical Science) Degree course at T. S.Chanakya, Navi Mumbai, Mumbai Campus; 4-year B. Tech. (Marine Engineering) Degree course at Marine Engineering & Research Institute, Kolkata, Kolkata Campus & National Maritime Academy, Chennai, Chennai Campus; 3-year B.Sc. There will be no separate Entrance Examination for admission to the above institutes/courses and only those candidates who secure Minimum Qualifying Marks for Ranking (MQMR) in the individual subjects for respective category in JEE-2011 will be called for counselling in order of merit in the month of July/August 2011. All Indian Nationals seeking admission to the above mentioned institutes /courses must fill up the application form for IIT-JEE-2011 and also a separate application form issued by Indian Maritime University, Mumbai Campus.

Seats: There are 185 seats in T. S. Chanakya, Navi Mumbai, Mumbai Campus; 246 in MERI-Kolkata, Kolkata Campus; 46 in MERI-Mumbai, Mumbai Campus; 80 in NMA-Chennai, Chennai Campus and 40 seats in Visakhapatnam Campus. Out of these, 10 seats are reserved for foreign nationals.

Academic Qualification: 1. A candidate must have passed (10 + 2) Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English.
AND
2. Candidates belonging to General & OBC categories must secure at least 60% marks and SC&ST candidates must secure at least 55% marks in aggregate in the (10+2) Examination.

Date of Birth: Candidates belonging to General & OBC categories must be born on or after 01.10.1986 and those belonging to SC & ST categories must be born on or after 01.10.1981.
