Institute of Plasma Research-IPR Summer School Program 2012

The Summer School Program of the Institute for Plasma Research (IPR) will be held from 28th May 2012 to 6th July 2012. If you are interested in pursuing a research career in Physics and Technology after your M. Sc / B.E. / B.Tech, here is an opportunity to spend a six weeks of your summer vacation at IPR.

In this program you can learn about Plasma (matter in an ionized state) and its applications in nuclear fusion and industries. The course comprises of lectures on plasma science, fusion and industrial technologies, and a short project related to Plasma Science/Technology. The participants will have to work on a specific project in association with a faculty member of the institute. This will present them a huge opportunity of interacting with the scientists at IPR.

If selected, you will be paid a stipend of Rs.10,500/- for the entire period and a
to and fro train fare (sleeper class ) by the shortest route. You will also be provided with a free hostel accommodation (limited seats are available) during this period.

Eligibility :
Students who have completed their 1st Year M. Sc. or 4th Year Integrated M. Sc .in Physics or Applied Physics or Integrated M.Sc. IIT Bombay the seventh certificate course Math for ECM,for undergraduate students of Economics,Commerce and Management will be held at IIT Bombay from April 16-29.

Math for ECM is a 14 day course aimed to strengthen the mathematical foundations of students and professionals working in these fields. The course will stress on building concepts and their applications.

Kotak Mahindra Bank in association with Manipal University announced the Kotak Probationary Officer Course. The course will be conducted by the Manipal University Bengaluru campus. The course intends to impart specialised knowledge on banking and functional knowledge on general management including all aspects relationship management and will involve a three months of internship at Kotak Mahindra Bank. On successful completion of course student will be placed with Kotak Mahindra Bank as a probationary officer.

On completing the 1-year post graduate diploma course, students have the option to continue studying online for another 18 months, and converting this diploma into an MBA programme. They can do this while continuing to work with Kotak Mahindra Bank.

The duration of the ‘Kotak Probationary Officer Course consists of 9 months of rigorous on-campus study followed by 3 months of internship at Kotak Mahindra Bank. On successful completion of the course, Manipal University will confer a ‘Post Graduate Diploma in Banking and Relationship Management’ and Kotak Mahindra Bank will give employment with the bank as a ‘Probationary Officer’.
