Admission Procedure -:
The application form with information brochure with postal charge can be obtained on payment of Rs.150/- by Demand Draft, drawn in favour of “The Finance Officer, Pondicherry University, Puducherry”, payable at Pondicherry by sending it to the Director, Directorate of Distance Education, Pondicherry University, Puducherry–605014, with a requisition and two self addressed slips. Candidates possessing requisite qualification or awaiting results are eligible to apply.
Applicants must go through the information brochure carefully before filling the application form and enter correctly the course code and name of the programme.
The Application will be summarily rejected if there is any discrepancy between the information in the Application form and the supporting documents. The name of the applicant, date of birth and qualification will be considered as material particulars in this context.
Admission cannot be claimed as a matter of right.
Admission is open to all those who posses the prescribed qualification. All admissions are provisional, subject to verification of the required documents.
Admission can be availed either through postal admission mode or online admission mode. Candidates seeking admission for any programme offered by the Directorate need not submit the Transfer Certificate / Migration Certificate.
Postal Admission -:
The filled-in application form, along with Identity Card duly filled in and original certificates should be sent along with the Demand Draft / copy of challan for the tuition fees and other fees of the programme opted by Registered Post / Speed Post to the Directorate.
Original Certificates and Attested (Xerox) Copies of the following certificates should be enclosed with the application form and Demand Draft.
• Statement of Marks of the qualifying Examinations. • Degree/Provisional Certificate.
(Recent passport size photograph duly attested by a Gazetted Officer should be pasted on the application form in the space provided for it. Further, a stamp size photograph signed by the candidate should be pasted in the space provided in the Identity Card)
Candidates seeking admission for all the courses should send their original Degree Certificate / Provisional Certificate and Statement of Marks, in water-proof covers. These shall be sent only through a registered post.
All the original certificates will be returned after scrutiny. Candidates who do not get back their certificates within a month from the date of receipt by the Directorate may write to the Grievance Cell of the Directorate of Distance Education.
Candidates awaiting their results must produce the Statement of Marks/ Degree Certificate as proof of fulfilling the prescribed eligibility criteria before 31.10.2008 failing which, the provisional admission already granted, will be cancelled.

Master of Business Administration (Banking & Finance), Doctoral Programmes and M.Phil
The University invites applications for admission to Master of Business Administration (Banking & Finance)-July 2009 Cycle. The University invites applications for admission to Master of Business Administration (Banking & Finance)-July 2009 Cycle. The Prospectus which is already on sale, can be obtained from any of the Regional Centres listed below or Registrar (SRD), Maidan Garhi, New Delhi - 110 068, on payment of Rs.500/- in cash or Rs.550/- through Demand Draft for sending by post. Candidate should be a member of Indian Institute of Bankers, should have passed the CAIIB examination and should be a Graduate working in the Banking or Financial Services Sector for at least two years. The last date for submission of the application form for MBA (B&F) at Regional Centre is 31-05-2009. Distance MBA Degree From TASMAC
The TASMAC distance Business Administration programme-Distance MBA in India is an excellent option for managers and professionals. It conducts a Masters Diploma in Business Administration.
An interesting aspect of their program is their affiliation with the Adam Smith University, which accepts credits of students who have completed their Masters Diploma with TASMAC, which means that students are qualified for an international MBA from the ASU.
The ASU has received accreditation from the governments of France,Liberia, etc. However, neither ASU degrees nor TASMAC diplomas are recognised by the government of India or any of the state governments.
In order to be eligible for the TASMAC programme, a candidate must have graduated from any recognised university or be a diploma holder with two years of work experience.
TASMAC courses are divided over four semesters. The first two semesters contain coursework common to all students. For the last two semesters, a candidate has a dual specialisation: during the third semester, one specialises in a subject from Group A (Contemporary Finance, Marketing or Human Resources) and during the last semester, specialises in a subject from Group B (International Business, Advertising, Public Relations, Hotel Management, Hospital Management or Marketing).
TASMAC charges Rs 2,000 in registration fees, Rs 3,000 per semester for four semesters, an examination fee of Rs 100 and a project evaluation fee of Rs 500 for the project required in the final semester. SC/ST students can avail of a fee waiver of 25 per cent. For the MBA degree from Adam Smith University, a nominal fee of $125 must be paid as well as Rs 2,000 to TASMAC as processing fee.
The semesters start in June and January every year, with exams being conducted afterwards. The exams have a 75 per cent weightage, while the term tests and assignments have a 25 per cent weightage. A candidate requires 50 per cent to pass. The programme lasts two years: four semesters of six months each.

Distance Education PG in Insurance by IIRM
INSTITUTE OF INSURANCE AND RISK MANAGEMENT invites application for distance education courses in Insurance
The following distance Learning Courses are offered under distance mode for the V Batch commencing from July 2009.
(i) International Post Graduate Diploma in Life Insurance(IPGDLI)
(ii) International Post Graduate Diploma in General Insurance(IPGDGI)
(iii) International Post Graduate Diploma in Risk Management (IPGDRM)
Duration : of each of the above three Courses is one year – Two Semesters, each of about 16 weeks duration.
Eligibility:(i) Employed professionals with minimum Graduate Degree in any discipline (including Engg and Management) from a recognised university/Institute with at least 50% marks. Candidates with professional qualifications like CA, ICWAI, CS are also eligible.
(ii) Self employed Graduates of any discipline (with minimum 50% marks) and aged 30 years and above may also be considered for admission
(iii) Employment is an essential criteria for admission. Employed candidates will be considered only if their applications are forwarded by their Employers
ADMISSION PROCEDURE
Step1:Candidates desirous of getting admitted to the distance Courses of the Institute are advised to go through the information provided on the website and satisfy themselves before applying for admission. They have to download the Application from the Institute’s website: www.iirmworld.org.in / Distance learning. No separate application will be provided by the office.
Step 2:Completed Applications are to be duly forwarded by their Employers (this is not required for self employed category of candidates) to the Institute by courier / registered post with copies of all certificates and Demand Draft for Rs. 200/- on or before May 30, 2009(Saturday). Applications received after the due date and incomplete / defective applications without registration fees will not be entertained.
Step3:Candidates selected based on their educational qualifications and experience will be informed normally within 10 days after the closing date.
Step 4: Selected candidates have to pay the course fee either in lumpsum or in two installments as opted by them in form of Demand draft drawn on IIRM on any scheduled bank payable at Hyderabad . Eligibility:(i) Employed professionals with minimum Graduate Degree in any discipline (including Engg and Management) from a recognised university/Institute with at least 50% marks. Candidates with professional qualifications like CA, ICWAI, CS are also eligible.
(ii) Self employed Graduates of any discipline (with minimum 50% marks) and aged 30 years and above may also be considered for admission
(iii) Employment is an essential criteria for admission. Employed candidates will be considered only if their applications are forwarded by their Employers
ADMISSION PROCEDURE
Step1:Candidates desirous of getting admitted to the distance Courses of the Institute are advised to go through the information provided on the website and satisfy themselves before applying for admission. They have to download the Application from the Institute’s website: www.iirmworld.org.in / Distance learning. No separate application will be provided by the office.
Step 2:Completed Applications are to be duly forwarded by their Employers (this is not required for self employed category of candidates) to the Institute by courier / registered post with copies of all certificates and Demand Draft for Rs. 200/- on or before May 30, 2009(Saturday). Applications received after the due date and incomplete / defective applications without registration fees will not be entertained.
Step3:Candidates selected based on their educational qualifications and experience will be informed normally within 10 days after the closing date.
Step 4: Selected candidates have to pay the course fee either in lumpsum or in two installments as opted by them in form of Demand draft drawn on IIRM on any scheduled bank payable at Hyderabad . Each admitted candidate will be informed of his enrolment number which should be quoted in all correspondence.
