DTU BBA/BA Eco Admission 2017

Delhi Technological University (DTU), East Delhi Campus, invites applications for admissions to BBA, BA Economics (Hons) admissions for 2017 session.

Eligibility :

(i) BBA Programme: 50% marks in 12th board examination and must also have passed English (Core/Elective/Functional) as a subject which will be counted among the best four subjects. The selection will be based on merit on the basis of the marks obtained in best of four subjects (including English) in 12th board exam. The best of four subjects shall not include any vocational subjects.

(ii) BA (Hons.) Economics: 50% marks in 12th board examination and must also have passed Mathematics (Core/Elective/Functional) as a subject which will be counted among the best four subjects. The selection will be based on merit on the basis of the marks obtained in best of four subjects (including Mathematics) in 12th board exam. The best of four subjects shall not include any vocational subjects.

Applicant must be minimum 17 years and maximum 25 years of age on or before the 01.10.2017.

University of Calcutta M.Phil Economics 2013

University of Calcutta M.Phil. Programme in Economics for the Session 2013-2015.

Eligibility: Any candidate who has passed the M.A./M.Sc. Examination in Economics of this University with 55% marks in aggregate (SC/ST with 50% marks) or with 60% marks in aggregate of any other recognized University is eligible to apply to the M.Phil Programme. Students, likely to complete M.A./ M.Sc. Part-II Examination in Economics by June 30, 2013, are also eligible to apply. Their admission will be provisional subject to satisfying minimum eligibility criterion by August 31, 2013. Selection will be on the basis of an entrance test followed by an interview.

Candidates who have qualified in NET, SET or equivalent national level examination are exempt from the entrance test, but not from the interview. The candidates, found eligible through entrance test and those exempted from entrance test, would be invited to submit a Statement of Purpose (SoP) on which a final interview will be conducted.

The Entrance Test (Written) for admission to M. Phil in Economics for the Session 2013-15 will be held on 1 July (Monday), 2013.

Application forms would be available at C.U. Sales Counter (College Street Campus) from 10.30 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. on all working days on payment of Rs. 465/- for form plus Rs. 35/- for copy of a Brochure, from May 27, 2013 (Monday).

Submission of Forms: Completed application forms will be received by the office of the Senior Secretary, University College of Arts and Commerce (UCAC) College Street Campus, Asutosh Building, Ground Floor, Room No. 3G between 11.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. on all working days up to June 7, 2013.

Admission for the following two Academic Programmes that would commence from August 23, 2010.

* M.A. (Development Economics), a two-year programme

* Masters in Computer Applications (MCA), a three-year programme

Minimum Qualifications-:

For admission to MA (Development Economics) the applicant should have had Mathematics as one of the subject at the +2 level of schooling. Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent grades from a recognized university, should be in Arts or Natural Sciences with Economics as main or a subsidiary subject.

For admission to MCA programme, a candidate should have had science subjects with Mathematics at the +2 stage of schooling. Bachelor’s degree may be in any subject from a recognized university with at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent grades.

Selections-: Final selections for admission will be based upon the academic records and an interview (if necessary).

Intake of Students-: 25 students will be admitted to each of the above two programmes. Applicants from all the eight SAARC countries (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka) are especially encouraged to apply. However, for a limited number of seats, applications from students of countries outside the SAARC region will also be considered.

RBI Scholarship Scheme for Faculty Members

Reserve Bank of India-RBI Scholarship Scheme for Faculty Members from Academic Institution.

The Reserve Bank of India invites full-time faculty members,teaching economics or finance in any UGC recognised institution in India to undertake short term research in the areas of monetary and financial economics,banking,real sector issues and other areas of interest to the Reserve Bank of India.

Objectives-:

1)To increase awareness about the activities of the Reserve Bank of India among faculty members and student community

2)To provide exposure to faculty members teaching economics and/or finance in different areas/activities in the Reserve Bank of India

Number of Scholarships-: A maximum of five

Selection Procedure-: The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of research proposal of not more than 1000 words,curriculum vitae and interview by a selection panel

Duration of Project-: Flexible but not more than three months and/or be less that two months,commencing from May 2010

Location of Project-: Mainly at Central Office Departments in Mumbai
