The Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD) has invited applications from interested, eligible candidates for admission to Master of Arts (M.A) in Development Policy & Practice, Social Innovations and Entrepreneurship, Social Work, Local Governance and& Development and Gender Studies, Master of Science (M.Sc) in Counseling Psychology programs for the session 2016.

Educational qualifications:

MA courses: Candidates should possess a graduate degree from a recognised university in any discipline with minimum 45 percent marks.

MSc courses: Interested candidates should have studied minimum two papers related to Psychology at the undergraduate (UG) level.

Those candidates, whose final year results are awaited, can also apply.

Selection procedure:

Admission to the courses will be granted on the basis of marks secured by the candidate in the undergraduate programme.

Application fees:

General and OBC category candidates interested in applying for the courses have to pay application fee of Rs. 200/- and those belonging to SC/ST/PH categories, have to pay Rs. 100/-.

Important date:

Last date of submission of application form is Friday April 15 2016.

Delhi University Ph.D Social Works Admissions 2014

Delhi University Ph.D in Social Works programme admissions for the academic year 2014-16.

The PhD Programme is administered by the Departmental Research Committee (DRC), a statutory committee mandated by University ordinances that also govern its membership which functions under the purview of the Board of Research Studies in the Social Sciences (BRSS).

The interested candidates can collect the Handbook of lnformation along with the Admission Form from the Office of the Chairperson, Board of Research Studies in Social Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences Building, University of Delhi.


Eligibility: The admission in this session for Ph.D are open to only those candidates who have JRF or any other national research fellowship or to those candidates who had cleared the entrance exam for Ph.D conducted by the Department in the month of August 2013.


To Apply : The completed Admission Form along with requisite documents and ten copies of the research proposal should be submitted to the Department of Social Work of Delhi University.

CUTN M.A Social Work Admissions 2013

Central University of Tamilnadu- CUTN invites applications from interested candidates for M.A. Social Work Programme with specializations in Mental Health and Community Development (In collaboration with Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai)

The objectives of the programme are (i) to understand the scope of social work practice in mental health within a development and human rights perspective, (ii) to become responsive to the vast need for comprehensive, ethical mental health services in rural and urban India, with special focus on marginalized and vulnerable groups, (iii) to develop skills in mental health service delivery as well as policy planning, program management, advocacy, activism and research in the mental health sector and (iv) to develop abilities to work in interdisciplinary teams and contexts.

Eligibility:

A Bachelor’s Degree of a minimum of 3 years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year bridge course pattern of study or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education) from a recognized university, in any discipline.

Minimum marks in the qualifying examination for admission is 55% for general category, 50% for OBC (Non-creamy Layer) and 45% for SC/ST. The candidates should not have completed 24 years of age as on 01-07-2013.

IGNOU Bachelor Degree Programme in Social Work (BSW) meant for people who are interested in providing professional assistance to people in need. Persons with professional training/degree in Social Work generally work in socially relevant areas such as health care, community development, education, industry, counselling, social defence, women, children, disability etc.

Bachelor in Social Work aims at generating a workforce to meet the growing demand for professionally trained social workers at the middle and lower level particularly in the social welfare and NGO sectors. The programme is of 96 credits.

This job-oriented professional programme is offered by the School of Rural Development located at Tuljapur (near Solapur, Maharashtra).

Eligibility-:
12th Standard (or equivalent) in any stream with minimum average of 50% marks (40% for Scheduled Castes (SCs) Scheduled Tribes (STs) Other Backward classes(OBCs) and 45% for Kashmiri Migrants). Candidates awaiting results can also apply.

MASTER’S PROGRAMME IN PHILANTHROPIC SOCIAL WORK
This Master’s Programme in Social Work (MSW) is having specialization in Philanthropy. The concept of philanthropic social work is appropriate in developing countries where interventions among the poorest of the poor is much needed. Some of the interventions including those of Baba Amte, Acharya Vinoba Bhave and Mother Teresa have been found to be acceptable across the globe. Their approaches and especially the use of the Social Action method to ameliorate the sufferings of the needy and poorest of the poor is being adequately highlighted in the syllabus.

MSW (with specialization in philanthropic social work) is perhaps the first of its kind across the globe. Professional social work has its origin in Charity Organisation Societies (COS). Philanthropic Social Work has its origin in the vision, mission and charitable works of philanthropists, who devoted their life for serving the poorest of the poor. This programme would be of great importance to developing countries in South Asia, Africa, South America and particularly the Indian sub-continent.

Duration : Two Years

Programme Fee : Rs. 6000/- per semester
