IGNOU MA Journalism & Mass Communication Programme
Indira Gandhi National Open University-IGNOU has launched a new academic programme, MA (Journalism & Mass Communication), in Open and Distance Learning mode with a blend of theory and practice. MA (JMC) aims to develop skilled human resource in media and communication and enable the learners to avail employment opportunities in various media sectors. It will also upgrade the knowledge and skills of those who are working in media organizations without a formal training.
The programme will be useful for those who intend to make a full time career in the print media, radio, television, new media, advertising, public relations, media research and development media sectors. It will be equally relevant for those who are already employed in any of these media and would like to upgrade their knowledge and skills.
To join the programme, learners should have Bachelors Degree in any discipline. They should have access to computers, Internet and basic knowledge of word processing. The duration of the programme is two years which can be completed in five years, due to the flexibility of the ODL system. Initially the programme is on offer in English medium. The fee is Rs 25,000/ for two years; payable in two installments of Rs 12,500/ per year.

IGNOU Launches Certificate Programme in Yoga
IGNOU’s School of Health Sciences (SOHS) has launched Certificate Programme in Yoga (CPY) from July, 2019 session.
Yoga is essentially a practice based on an extremely subtle science, which focuses on bringing harmony between mind, body and spirit. It is a very powerful means to achieve physical, mental and emotional well being. Yoga paves the way to discover the self, the external world and the nature. It is an art and science for healthy living. Yoga has several benefits including education, health and stress management.
An admission fee of Rs. 10,000 has to be paid for the complete programme. The CPY Programme will be available from July session across different IGNOU centres including Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Ladnun, Pune, Bengaluru, Haridwar, Jaipur, Mumbai and Bhubaneswar. The CPY programme will entail 3 courses and 16 credits. Any student who wishes to pursue the six-month programme in Yoga will have to register online.

IGNOU MBA Banking & Finance Admission 2018
The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) announces admissions to the MBA (Banking & Finance) Programme for the session commencing January 2018. The last date to receive the request for supply of Student Handbook by post is 30.11.2017 and for submission of filled-in forms at the concerned Regional Centre is 29.12.2017.
This programme is specifically designed for professionals working in the banks. The same is being offered through countrywide network of Study Centres of IGNOU. The programme has been developed jointly by School of Management Studies, IGNOU and the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (IIBF), Mumbai.
The programme would be offered through the ODL mode and uses standard IGNOU multi-media design and technology aided delivery systems.
For seeking admission to the programme, a candidate should:
a. be a graduate of not less than 3 years duration from a recognized University/Institution,
b. have passed the CAIIB examinations of the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance, Mumbai and awarded the requisite qualification/credentials thereof by the Institute, and
c. have been working in the Banking or Financial Services Sector for a period of at least two years.

IGNOU Research Fellowship 2017
IGNOU invites application for the award of IGNOU-Research Fellowship (IGNOU-RF) from full time students of M.Phil/Ph.D programme in IGNOU. The fellowships shall be awarded under following categories :

IGNOU B.Ed Entrance 2017 Admit Cards Released
The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has released the admit cards for Bachelor of Journalism (BEd) entrance examination 2017 on the official website, the link for which is ignou.ac.in .
The entrance exam is scheduled to be held on September 24 at various test centres.
Steps to download IGNOU B.Ed. Entrance Exam Hall Ticket:
* Log on to the official website, ignou.ac.in
* Click on the hall ticket link
* Enter your name or part of name in the space provided/enrollment number
* Click to submit
* Admit cards will be displayed on the screen
* Download and take print out of it for future use.
Exam timings:
The examination will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Selection process:
IGNOU will select candidates on the basis of their performance in the exam and verification of documents.
Meanwhile, IGNOU had declared the June term end exam result on August 11. The University also said that pending result, if any, would follow shortly. The result for majority of students also allowed them to apply for re-checking or improvement exam, as reported by NDTV.

IGNOU declares result of June TEE 2017
Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has released the Term End Examination Result which was held in June 2017. The result is available on the official website and can be accessed through the Student's Zone tab on the home page. Students can view the IGNOUR result either by logging into their individual student's profile or through the results link on the website. IGNOU conducts the term end examination for various courses in June for students who are enrolled in the July session of a course.

* Print, if required, after the result displays on screen.
Meanwhile, the Board has cancelled the results of the students who were booked for adopting unfair means during conduct of the examination.

IGNOU launches PG Diploma in Mental Health Admission 2017
IGNOU's School of Social Sciences (SOSS) has launched a Post Graduate Diploma in Mental Health (PGDMH) programme from July'2017 session.
The programme is offered by the Discipline of Psychology, SOSS, and aims at providing the learners a sound base in the field of mental health through an in-depth study into a broad range of psychological issues and concerns related to mental health.
“The objective of the programme is to build capacity through spreading of awareness and training of personnel working in the field to take care of the pressing need of the society addressing the mental health and well-being of the people,” explained the programme co-ordinator Dr. Swati Patra. She further added that the programme would help address the mental health requirements of people in view of shortage of trained mental health personnel in India.
The prospective learner for the programme should be Post Graduate in Psychology/Social Work/Nursing or be a medical graduate in any of the medicine fields viz., Allopathy/Homoeopathy/Ayurvedic/Unani/Siddha.
The programme follows Open & Distance Mode of education and uses multiple media approach viz., self-instructional print material, audio-video programmes, counselling sessions, teleconferencing and interactive radio counselling through Gyan Vani, FM channel of IGNOU.
The courses covered under the programme range from Fundamentals of Mental Health, Mental Disorders to Services for the mentally ill. The last date to apply for the programme is 18 August 2017 through online admission procedure of the University.

IGNOU New Online Programme in Human Rights
The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to develop a new online Advance Programme on Human Rights for the Police Personnel and update/ revise the existing course contents of Basic Programme on Human Rights and Training of Trainers Programme on Human Rights for the police personnel.
The new awareness generation programme will be developed jointly by NHRC and IGNOU for judiciary, police personnel, public servants, parliamentarians, universities, colleges and common people.
Commenting upon how the learners will be able to study the course, Prof. Ravindra Kumar, VC, IGNOU, said that, “IGNOU’s Inter University Consortium (IUC) platform and SWAYAM portal will be used for disseminating information on Human Rights to the proposed target groups. IGNOU’s regional centers will be used as training centers for spreading human rights education. The material developed will be in the form of e-books and printed books.”
The six units of the existing online programme on Human Rights for the Police Personnel shall be updated along with the e-content on the IGNOU portal. The units will be more interactive and multimedia tools will be used to make it simple and interesting for the constables to sub-Inspector level which constitutes 80 per cent of the Police Force.
Training material will be developed for conducting training programmes for the Trainers Training for another existing programme on Human Rights for the Police Personnel.

IGNOU Admission 2017 Last Date to Apply Extended Till August 18
The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the admission 2017 application date for July session to August 18. The IGNOU admission 2017, which was earlier scheduled to last until July 31 for all courses including the Bachelor degree, Master course, Diploma, or any other Vocational Program will now end on August 18.
Candidates who are interested to pursue undergraduate, post graduate, vocational course or any semester based programmes can submit their admission forms online at online admission.ignou.ac.in/admission.
The extension in the deadline for IGNOU admission July 2017 is only for offline candidates who could not submit the application form online. As per the officials of the IGNOU, the heavy traffic on the official website of the university, which had slowed down the admission process last month is the main reason behind the application date extension.
Moreover, IGNOU has extended the admission dates for the BEd, BSc Nursing, and MBA courses till August 11. The complete details on extending the date of BEd, BSc Nursing, and MBA courses was published by the university on the official website www. ignou.ac.in.

About the Program
Under its School of Education (SOE) Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) offers 2 years B.Ed. Course as a Distance Mode
The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Programme of IGNOU aims at developing the understanding and competencies required by teachers for effective teaching-learning process at the secondary stage
The Programme also provides opportunities of sharing experiences gained by teachers. It enables teachers to select and organise learning experiences according to the requirement of learners
In addition, it provides knowledge and develops in them an understanding of areas such as educational evaluation, school management, etc.
The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Programme is offered in English and Hindi medium
Eligibility Criteria :
Candidates should have possessed following eligibility criteria defined by IGNOU for B.Ed. Program:
Candidates with at least fifty (55) percent marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s Degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Commerce/Humanity, Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the programme (and);
The following categories are eligible to be the students of B.Ed. (ODL):
(i) Trained in-service teachers in elementary education (Or);
(ii) Candidates who have completed a NCTE recognized teacher education programme through face-to-face mode
The reservation and relaxation of 5% marks in minimum eligibility will be provided to SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer)/PWD candidates as per the rules of the Central Govt.
Reservation to Kashmiri Migrants and war widow candidates will be provided as per the University Rules
Master's’ Degree awarded without a first degree is not accepted for purpose of Academic Studies in IGNOU
Admission shall be done on the basis of the score obtained in the entrance test conducted by IGNOU all over India. The candidate will be required to submit the filled-in application form with attested copy of documents as specified in Entrance-cum-Admission Form. The original documents are to be submitted later after receiving offer letter for admission
The final admission to the program shall be subject to their rank in the merit list in the Entrance Test and production of proof of their eligibility at the time of last date of submission of application for admission to B.Ed. programme alongwith original certificates and programme fee
The number of seats of each PSC is limited to 50 only. The university reserves the right to conduct the examination at different centres/change the examination centre of the candidates without assigning any reason thereof

Program Fee is Rs. 50,000/- for the entire Program. Candidates seeking admission to the B.Ed. programme are advised not to pay the fee along with the filled in application form. They will get a separate communication about their admission and payment of Fee
Reservation :
The University provides reservation of seats for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Non-creamy layer of OBC, War Widows, Kashmiri Migrants and Physically Handicapped learners, as per the Government of India rules, for admission to its various programmes

Students required to purchases Student Handbook and Prospectus from the from the nearest Study Centre of IGNOU on payment of Rs.200/- in cash at the sale counter.
Admission form can be filled online at https://onlineadmission.ignou.ac.in/admission/
IGNOU also offers B.Com (A&F) and M.Com (F&T), B.Com (CA&A) and M.Com (BP&CG), B.Com (F&CA) and M.Com (MA&FS) in collaboration with the Institute of Chartered Accounts of India, Institute of Company Secretaries of India and Institute of Cost Accounts of India. Cost of Prospectus - Rs.750/- (additional Rs.50% for getting by post)
Last Date for Submission of Application Form for Certificate Programmes is 30th June 2017

The university also invites applications for Bachelor degree programmes like Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) (with major in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, and Zoology); Bachelor of Arts (BA) (with major in Hindi, English, Urdu, Economics, History, Mathematics, Philosophy, Psychology, Public Administration, Political Science, Sociology), BA in (Tourism Studies), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com); Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), Bachelor of Library & Information Science (BLIS); Bachelor of Social Work (BSW);

IGNOU July 2014 Admission Date Extended
Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi, has extended the dates for admission to the courses, commencing in 2014.
Admission dates for the courses MCA, M.A, MSW, M.Sc, M.Com, MLISc, BCA, B.Sc, B.A, BSW, BBA, Diploma and PG Diploma has been extended.
Student handbook and prospectus is available in all the Regional Centers/ Study Centers of the university which can be obtained in person for Rs.200/- .
Last date for application is July 8 and with late fee of Rs 300/- till 31st July 2014.
