Stanford India Biodesign Internship Program 2013

Applications are being invited for a 3- months internship (extendable) at Stanford India Biodesign Center, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi

Stanford India Biodesign-SIB is a collaborative program between AIIMS,IIT Delhi and Stanford University supported by th Department of Biotechnology, Government of India to nurture and train the next generation of Medical Device Innovators in India.

Interns will be mentored by the Faculty and Fellows of the SIB program to work on solutions for unmet clinical needs

Candidates & Eligibility : Applicants with a background in either Design, Engineering, Medicine, Bioscience and MBA or with relevant business/technology experience are encouraged to apply. Applicants should be graduate/postgraduate with age not exceeding 35 years

Duration: 15th May to 15th July Full Time

Stipend: Monthly stipend of Rs 24000/- No additional allowances

National Human Rights Commission Winter Internship Programmes

With a view to spread awareness on human rights issues among University students, the Commission has been conducting "Summer and Winter Internship Programmes". The Internship Programme, which has commenced from the year 1998, is an annual feature held during the vacations of the Universities.

This year the "Winter Internship Programme (WIP) 2008" is scheduled from 17 December 2008 to 15 January 2009 (30 days). The essential qualifications are: -

Students of the 4th and 5th year pursuing 5 Years Integrated Law course.
Students of the 3rd year pursuing 3 years L.L.B. course.
Students pursuing Post-Graduation in Human Rights, Political Science, Sociology, Criminology, Social Work, Anthropology, Economics, History and subjects covered under Social Science of final year.
Students of Post-Graduate Diploma (regular course) in Human Rights of recognized University is also eligible.
Girl candidates are encouraged to apply.
APPLICATION FOR WIP 2008

The last date for the submission of the application is 10th November 2008. Kindly send the application by speed post/ fax/ email superscribed on the envelope "Application for WIP 2008". The 'Eligibility Criteria and the Application Form for WIP 2008' are available at Annexure?I & Annexure - II respectively.

Please ensure that the application for WIP 2008 is signed and sealed by the Head of the Department (HOD). Applications submitted otherwise will not be accepted. For those sending by e-mail, please get the authentication from the HOD and may send it separately.
No application will be accepted after the deadline of 10th November, 2008.
The selected interns are requested to bring two passport size photographs

PROGRAMME SCHEDULE FOR WIP 2008

The medium will be in English. The selected Interns would get the opportunity to work in different areas of Human Rights issues, including participation in the review of Programmes of the ongoing projects in the Commission. They will also get an opportunity to have interaction with legal experts, representatives of reputed NGOs as well as other National Commissions situated in Delhi. They will be required to study and scrutinise complaints, draft orders, present findings to the Commission, compile and analyze statistical data on human rights etc. The interns will be required to prepare reports on the topic of study assigned to them during the internship. There will be field visits and project work during the weekends.

STIPEND

The selected interns from outside Delhi would be allowed claim restricted to ordinary second-class train fare to New Delhi and back to their place of study through the shortest route. They may also avail the Railway Student Concession benefits. For outside interns they would also be paid an amount of Rs.5000/- (Rupees five thousand only) as stipend. Students from Delhi and National Capital Region (NCR) will be entitled for Rs.2500/- (Two thousand five hundred) as stipend.

The selected Interns will have to make their own arrangements for accommodation and transport at Delhi. Those who need accommodation may kindly contact the Resident Commissioner (RC) of their respective States/UTs Bhavan in Delhi through the University to the State Government which in turn will issue orders to the Resident Commissioners.

ELIGIBILITY FOR WINTER INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME - 2008
Students, who are studying in the 4th & 5th year of the 5-year Integrated Law Course, shall only be considered.
In case of the 3-year LL.B. Course, those students who are currently in the final year of the course shall be given preference.
Students pursuing Post-Graduate studies in Human Rights, Political Science, Sociology, Criminology, Social Work, Anthropology, Economics, History and subjects covered under Social Science of final year. However, preference would be given to those who are in the final year of the course.
Students pursuing Post Graduate Diploma (regular course) in Human Rights of recognized University would be considered provided they have done graduation.
Preference will be given to the Girl Candidates
