Stanford India Biodesign Internship Program 2013

Applications are being invited for a 3- months internship (extendable) at Stanford India Biodesign Center, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi

Stanford India Biodesign-SIB is a collaborative program between AIIMS,IIT Delhi and Stanford University supported by th Department of Biotechnology, Government of India to nurture and train the next generation of Medical Device Innovators in India.

Interns will be mentored by the Faculty and Fellows of the SIB program to work on solutions for unmet clinical needs

Candidates & Eligibility : Applicants with a background in either Design, Engineering, Medicine, Bioscience and MBA or with relevant business/technology experience are encouraged to apply. Applicants should be graduate/postgraduate with age not exceeding 35 years

Duration: 15th May to 15th July Full Time

Stipend: Monthly stipend of Rs 24000/- No additional allowances

Stanford - India Biodesign Fellowships in Biomedical Technology Innovation

A Fellowship Opportunity in Medical Device Technology for 2013 jointly sponsored by Dept of Biotechnology, Ministry of Sciences and technology Govt. of India and Stanford University, USA in partnership with the Indo-US Science and Technology Forum.

Eligibility :
Candidates with graduate or postgraduate degrees (engineers, doctors, business professionals, others) having passion for invention and early-stage development of new medical technologies addressing the clinical needs in India are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be Indian citizens, and must be able to devote full one year at the Stanford University, USA and the SIB Centre, AIIMS, New Delhi. Preference will be given to applicants with significant work experience. Shortlisted candidates will be called for final interview at New Delhi.

Benefits :
Fellowship pays stipend, tuition, travel and health benefits. Fellows are mentored by experts in the USA and India.

Stanford-India Biodesign Internship Program 2012

Applications are invited for a 3-month internship in Stanford-India Biodesign (SIB) program at SIB center, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.

SIB is a collaborative program between AIIMS, IIT Delhi and Stanford Biodesign, Stanford University, USA The goal of the program is to train the next generation of medical device innovation pioneers for India through hands on real-world projects of low-cost medical device innovation run by teams of SIB Fellows with support from consultants and interns. The program brings together engineers, doctors, product designers and business professionals on to one team to ensure successful identification, invention and implementation of solutions in the real world. The program is funded by Dept. of Biotechnology and Indo-US Science & Technology Forum.

This is an intensive 3 month program (extendable) consisting of hands-on training in Stanford’s pioneering Biodesign process for inventing medical technologies as the interns work on real world projects. It offers an opportunity to work in a unique, creative work culture.

Eligibility:
Both experienced professionals and fresh graduates with masters (preferred)/ bachelors in Engineering, Design, Medicine, Bioengineering, or business are encouraged to apply, with age not exceeding 40 yrs. Candidates with entrepreneurial aspirations are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to mechanical engineers and product designers for this year’s program.

Duration: 15th April 2012 to 15th July 2012 (Full time)

Stipend: Monthly stipend of Rs. 20,000/-. No additional allowances.

Stanford-India Biodesign Internship Program 2010

The goal of Stanford-India Biodesign is to train the next generation of medical technology innovators in India. This highly competitive program is directed towards Indian citizens who have an interest in the invention and early-stage development of new medical technologies. Successful applicants will have advanced degrees and/or significant work experience. University faculty are strongly encouraged to apply.

Funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, Stanford University, and other supporters, the SIB Fellowship Program is centered in New Delhi and administered as a collaboration between Stanford University, the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in partnership with the Indo-US Science & Technology Forum (IUSSTF). In future years, the fellowship and associated teaching programs will be developed in other centers in India.
Fellows receive tuition, stipend, and international travel support (for trips required for the fellowship.) During the fellowship, approximately half of the fellows’ time is spent in India, and the other half at Stanford University. Fellows work on a multidisciplinary team joining other innovators with a combination of engineering, medical and business backgrounds.

1st April 2010 to 30th June 2010 (full time)
