JAM 2018 Application Process

JAM 2018 will be held on February 11, 2018 (Sunday)

Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) is being conducted from 2004 to provide admissions to M.Sc. (Four Semesters), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, etc. Programmes at the IITs and Integrated Ph.D. Degree Programmes at IISc for consolidating Science as a career option for bright students. These postgraduate programmes at IITs and IISc offer high quality education in their respective disciplines, comparable to the best in the world. The curricula for these programmes are designed to provide opportunities to the students to develop academic talent leading to challenging and rewarding professional life.

Eligibility

In order to fulfill IIT JAM 2018 eligibility criteria, candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree with at least 55% aggregate marks (50% for SC/ ST/ PwD category candidates). It may be noted that the aggregate marks should be without rounding off and take into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined, informs the official website.

Candidates who have appeared or will appear for their graduation exams in 2018 are also eligible to apply.

For candidates who have been given letter grades/ CGPA as a substitute for percentage of marks, the equivalence in percentage of marks will be decided by the admitting college/ institute. Proof of passing graduation exam with minimum educational qualification as specified by the admitting institute should be submitted by September 30, 2018, states the official website.

Besides the proof for minimum educational qualification, candidates also need to submit a physical fitness certificate at the time of admissions. Candidates found unfit to pursue his/her Science course can be denied admission by the admitting institute.

Age criteria: There is no age limit to appear for IIT JAM 2018 exam.

To Apply :

For IIT JAM 2018 registrations, candidates need to apply for the exam in the online mode. Candidates need to visit the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) link present on the official website of the exam and fill the IIT JAM 2018 application form there.

IIT JAM 2018 application fee also needs to be paid in the online mode only via net banking/ debit card/ credit card. It may be noted that candidates can apply for maximum two test papers at a time. But for appearing for the second test paper, candidates need to pay an additional application fee.

JAM 2016 Application Process


JAM 2016 Application Process

Joint Admission Test (JAM) 2016, is scheduled to be conducted on February 7, 2016 for admissions to integrated PhD Degree Programmes at IISc Bangalore and MSc (two years), Joint MSc-PhD, MSc-PhD Dual Degree, MSc MTech, and other Post-Bachelor Degree Programmes at IITs. The registrations for the same will commence from September 2 onwards.

The exam will be conducted by IIT Madras and approximately 1629 seats are vacant at various IITs and IIScs. The online test will be held at various centres in the country and the results will be announced on March 23, 2016.


Educational qualification:

The candidates who are interested in registering for the exam, should have completed graduation with atleast 55 percent marks (50 percent for SC/ST/OBC category candidates).

The information brochure and all other information related to JAM 2016 will be updated time to time on the JAM 2016 website: http://jam.iitm.ac.in/jam2016. A candidate can register and apply ONLINE only for JAM 2016 from September 02, 2015 to October 14, 2015. The application fee can be paid either online or through e-challan (additional transaction charges may apply). In case, a candidate chooses to pay through e-challan, then the payment should be made in cash at any branch of the bank mentioned in the e-challan latest by October 10, 2015 (Saturday).


Paper pattern

There will be total 7 papers for the JAM 2016 exam namely, Biologocal Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics and Physics.

Biological Sciences:

General Biology

Basics of Biochemistry, Biophysics, Molecular Biology

Microbiology, Cell Biology and Immunology

Mathematical Sciences

Biotechnology:

Biology, Chemistry , Mathematics and Physics.

The syllabus will be of 10 plus 2 plus 3 level.

Chemistry:

Physical Chemistry

Organic Chemistry

Inorganic Chemistry

Geology:

The Planet Earth

Geomorphology

Structural Geology

Palaeontology

Stratigraphy

Mathematics:

Sequences and Series of Real Numbers

Functions of Two Real Variables

Differential Equations

Vector Calculus

Mathematical Statistics:

The Mathematical Statistics (MS) test paper comprises of Mathematics and Statistics.

Physics:

Mathematical Methods

Mechanics and General Properties of Matter

Oscillations, Waves and Optics

Electricity and Magnetism

Kinetic theory, Thermodynamics

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore & Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) conduct the Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) for admission to M.Sc. (Two Year), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, Integrated Ph.D. and other Post-Bachelor’s Degree Programs at IISc Bangalore & IITs. M.Tech. Nano Science and Nano Technology Admissions 2009

M.Tech. Nano Science and Nano Technology Admissions 2009 Delhi University

University of Delhi invites applications for 3 Year M.Tech. in Nano Science and NanoTechnology, Jointly conducted by Department of Physics and Astrophysics
and Department of Chemistry

The duration of the course is six semesters. However, students will be required to undergo course work / training in the summer vacations during the three years of the programme, either in the Department or at other National Labs.

Eligibility Criteria-:
The candidate must have qualified Joint Admission Test (JAM) conducted by Indian Institutes of Technology. The candidate should have had atleast one year of Mathematics course during the B.Sc.. In addition the candidate should have secured atleast 60 % in one of the following courses.
• B.Sc. Honours in Physics / Chemistry / Biological Sciences
• B.Sc. General in Physics / Chemistry / Biological Sciences
• B.Sc. Programme in Physical Sciences / Chemical Sciences / Biological Sciences

Relaxation in the minimum eligibility criterion-:
The short listed candidates in order of merit would be called for interview. Final selection will be made on the basis of an Interview of the short -listed candidates.
Candidate who has completed any Master's Degree or pursuing any Master's Degree will not be eligible for this course.

Age Requirements-:
No Person shall be qualified for admission to the M.Tech course unless he/she is at least 20 years of age before the first of October in the year in which he/she seeks admission. However, the Vice-Chancellor may, on the basis of individual merit, relax the age limit up to a maximum period of six months.
