Eligibility : M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Life sciences/Biotechnology/Chemical Sciences and qualified in CSIR-UGC-NET, ICMR, DBT examinations for Junior Research Fellowship. The fellowship should be valid as on date of joining the institute (12th-13th August)

National Institute of Research in Reproductive Health-NIRRH Ph.D Programme 2011

National Institute of Research in Reproductive Health, Mumbai-NIRRH a premier Institute of the Indian Council of Medical Research conducts basic, clinical and operational research in different areas of reproductive health, Institute is affiliated to the University of Mumbai for the award of Ph.D degree in applied Biology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences and Biotechnology, Duly filled application are invited for admitting students for Ph.D. programme from eligible candidates so as to reach on or before 30th September 2011.

Eligibility :

Candidates with M.Sc. in Biological Sciences/ M.Pharm./ M.V.Sc. or M.B.B.S. (securing not less than 60% marks for general category candidates and not less than 55% for SC/ST candidates in all major examinations from higher secondary (10 + 2) onwards), and willing to take up challenges in modern biology through Ph.D. programme of the Institute may submit their application in the prescribed format. Candidates who have qualified in the Ph.D. entrance test conducted by the University of Mumbai OR qualified in GATE/NET (JRF) examination/teacher fellowship holder of the apex bodies as CSIR/UGC/ICAR/ICMR/DBT only are eligible to apply.

Upper age limit is 28 years as on 30 September 2011 (the deadline for submission of application) and it is relaxable for SC/ST/OBC/Physically handicapped persons as well as women candidates as per Government of India rules in this regard.

Application form available at the NIRRH website (www.nirrh.res.in) should be duly filled and submitted online. Printed copy of the filled application form should be submitted alongwith attested copies of relevent certificates and a Demand Draft for Rs 300/- (no application fee for SC/ST/PH candidates provided they submit supporting document) drawn in favour of “Director, NIRRH Mumbai” to In-charge, Post Graduate Studies, National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health, Jehangir Merwanji Street, Parel, Mumbai 400012, so as to reach on or before 30 th September 2011. Envelope should be marked as “NIRRH Ph.D. 2011”. Incomplete applications and applications received after the closing date will be disqualified.

Qualifications/Eligibility-:
Master’s degree in: Applied Biology/ Botany/ Biochemistry/ Biophysics/ Biotechnology/ Life Sciences/ Microbiology/ Molecular Biology/ Zoology; or M.B.B.S. from a recognized University, with not less than 60% aggregate marks. Those awaiting results may also apply.

Stipend: Rs.12000/- + 30% HRA per month as applicable, if Hostel facility not allotted.
