KVAFSU MBA Food Business Admissions 2014

Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University- KVAFSU invited applications for admission to MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (FOOD BUSINESS) at Dairy Science College, Hebbal, Bangalore Campus of the University for the Academic year 2014-2015.

ELIGIBILITY : Eligible candidates for this two years full time MBA (Food Business) course shall possess B.Tech.(D.Tech.)/ B.V.Sc./ B.V.Sc. & A.H./ B.F.Sc./ B.Sc.(Agri.)/ B.Sc.(Ag.Maco)/ B.Sc.(Hort.)/ B.Sc.(Rural Home Science)/ B.Tech.(Food Engineering)/ B.Sc.(FoodTechnology)/ B.Tech.(Agri.Engg.)/ B.Sc.(Sericulture)/ B.Sc.(Any combination)/ B.B.M./ B.B.A.

The candidates who have studied a 3 years undergraduate degree programme with science background or possessing a postgraduate degree in any discipline are also eligible.

Candidates who will receive their Provisional Degree Certificate (PDC) by 18th August, 2014 can also apply.

APPLICATION AND PROSPECTUS : The application form along with the prospectus will be uploaded on 8th July 2014 and can be downloaded from the University website www.kvafsu.kar.nic.in.

Application fee of Rs.1000/- for General candidates and Rs.500/- for SC/ST/Cat-1 in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of The Assistant Comptroller, Dairy Science College, KVAFSU, Hebbal, Bangalore has to be enclosed along with the application.

LAST DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS: The filled in applications duly complete in all respects along with requisite application fee in the form of Demand Draft should reach the “Registrar, KVAFSU, Nandinagar, PB No.6, Bidar-585401, Karnataka” on or before 2nd August 2014.

Candidates seeking admission have to appear for a written test, group discussion and interview, which are mandatory, on 9th August 2014 at 10.00 AM in the MBA Class room of the Dairy Science College, Hebbal Campus, Bangalore-560 024, at their own cost.

Central Food Technological Research Institute-CFTRI 2 years M.Sc. (Food Technology) Degree Course of the University of Mysore for the years 2013-2015

Eligibility : Bachelor Degree in Science with Chemistry/Biochemistry as one of the subjects or Agriculture / Engineering / Technology. Mathematics as one of the subjects in Plus 2 or Pre-University or at Degree level is compulsory for admission.

Minimum Marks Requirement :
(i) 55% in optional subjects of B.Sc. pass course (50% for SC / ST category)
(ii) 50% for B.Sc. (Hons.) course (45% for SC / ST category)
(iii) Minimum second class for Agriculture / Engineering / Technology

Students who meet the eligibility criteria are required to take an entrance / aptitude test which will be held at Mysore on Saturday July 20, 2013

The application is available online & completed application is also to be submitted online. Prior to online submission of the completed application, Kindly take print-out of the same. IGNOU Online PGD in Food Science & Technology 2012

IGNOU is offering a new online programme Post Graduate Diploma in Food Science and Technology at the School of Agriculture for July 2012 session.

This is a one year programme offered through online mode while the practical classes will be conducted at IGNOU Campus, New Delhi and in some selected programme study centres.

Programme Objectives:
The major objectives of the programme are to:

* To develop human resource for the fast growing food processing sector.

* To provide knowledge & technical competencies to address the emerging issues of processing, product development, food safety, marketing, export & sustainable use of resources.

* To strengthen the knowledge & technical proficiencies of existing technicians, managers, food industry professionals & technologists, and to provide vertical career mobility to them.

* To train the professionals for entrepreneurship in the various specialized areas of food processing viz fruits & vegetables, dairy, poultry, meat, fish, cereals and pulses.

Programme Structure:
A learner has to earn 36 credits to complete the Programme. The minimum duration of the programme is one year. However, a student can complete the programme in a maximum time of four years. There will be four compulsory theory courses, two compulsory practical courses and one specialized course. The learners will be given an option of specialisation in four different food groups viz. Dairy; Fruits and Vegetables; Meat, fish and poultry; and Cereal, pulses and oilseeds. The learners will also have to attend 1 month hands-on training in food industry.

The admissions are on and the last date for submission of application form is 10th September, 2012.

CBSE New Courses in 2011

CBSE New Courses in 2011

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to open courses in media, films, geospatial studies and food & beverages affiliated schools in India and abroad to courses this year.

The aforesaid courses were introduced in few selected schools in class XI from the academic session 2010-11 on pilot basis. Based on the feedback received and on the basis of the overwhelming response from the other independent schools, the CBSE has decided to open it to all affiliated schools in the country and abroad from the academic session 2011-12 for class-XI, the CBSE has said in a circular issued to its schools.

The CBSE had last year signed an agreement with Subhash Ghai’s Whistling Woods Institute and Rolta India for courses in mass media and geospatial practices, respectively. The two institutes are helping train teachers and develop curriculum.

ADMISSION TO M.Sc. (FOOD TECHNOLOGY) DEGREE COURSE AT CENTRAL FOOD TECHNOLOGICAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE, MYSORE

Applications are invited for 2 year M.Sc. (Food Technology) Degree Course of the University of Mysore for the years 2009-11.

Eligibility criteria: Bachelor Degree in Science with Chemistry/Biochemistry as one of the subjects or Agriculture / Engineering / Technology. Mathematics as one of the subjects in 12th Class or Pre University or at Degree level is compulsory for admission
Minimum marks requirement:
(i) 55% in optional subjects of B.Sc. pass course, (50% for SC/ST category)

(ii) 50% for B.Sc.(Hons.) course (45% for SC/ST category)

(iii) Minimum second class for Agriculture / Engineering / Technology

Entrance/Aptitude Test:

Students who meet the eligibility criteria are required to take an entrance / aptitude test which will be held at Mysore and New Delhi on July 19, 2009

Those who have appeared for final year examination and expect to get stipulated marks or class can also apply. Marks / Grades of all the years of qualifying Degree examination should reach this office as soon as possible, but not later than July 27, 2009.
