IIIT Bhubaneswar is the next generation Technology Institute which provides Post Graduate education and research. Institute is one of the reputed Institutes which provide the M.Tech courses to the aspiring candidates.

Candidates should possess either or more of the following qualifications:

B.Tech/B.E from any recognized universities in any discipline
M.C.A from any recognized university
M.Sc.(Computer Science)/ M.Sc.(Electronics)/ M.Sc.(Mathematics)/
M.Sc (Statistics)/ M.Sc. (Physics)
Any Equivalence of the above (Recognized by Govt. of India/ Govt. of Orissa)

How to Apply-:
Visit the website www.iiit-bh.in to apply on line for the M.Tech. (Computer Science & Engineering) and M.Tech.(Information Technology) Programmes. Please note that only on-line application is accepted and one application is sufficient for both the programmes. The draft has to be kept ready at the time of filling the online application form, since the draft number has to be entered in the application form.
The draft/pay order of Rs.1000.00 (Rupees one thousand only) should be made favouring “IIIT Bhubaneswar” drawn by any scheduled bank payable at Bhubaneswar.
Carefully fill in all the relevant fields of the blank application form which include the draft details.
The password entered in the password field should be carefully preserved by you. You shall need it for subsequent steps.
Submit the form by clicking the button “Submit”. On successful submission, the next screen shall display your application ID and password. You will need this information to subsequently log in to and perform any or more of the following:
Edit your application and resubmit if required.
Generate the application in PDF format and print it.
Verify the status of the receipt of the draft by IIIT, Bhubaneswar.
Print your admit cards.

You are required to send the following by speed post/hand delivery so as to reach IIIT, Bhubaneswar latest by 18 April 2009.
Printed copy of the application form submitted on line
A recent passport size photograph, pasted on the application form.
The draft/pay order of Rs.1000.00 (Rupees one thousand only).Please write your name and application id on the back of the draft.
You can verify the receipt of the draft by IIIT, Bhubaneswar in the website as mentioned at point No.1 above.
You can print your admit card to the entrance examination, once your draft has been received by IIIT, Bhubaneswar. You are required to paste your photograph in the space provided in the admit card and bring the same for the entrance test. (You shall paste the copy of the same photograph already sent along with the copy of the on line application form).

Entrance test-:
The entrance test shall be conducted in seven places*: Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai. The candidates are required to give at least 3 choices of the places for Entrance Test in order of preference. The entrance test will be held during the week (18th -24th May 2009). The exact venue, date & time shall be sent to you by e-mail. The same information shall also be available to you in the website.
Candidates possessing valid GATE (CS/IT) score of more than 75 percentile are exempt from entrance test. However they will have to apply on-line and pay the application fee mentioned in the How to Apply section and appear for the interview. They may at their option appear for entrance test as well. In such case the score of the entrance test shall supersede the GATE score for the purpose of evaluation and the GATE score shall not be considered.

Interview:
Based on the performance in the entrance test, the interview of the short-listed candidates will be conducted on the same day and may continue for the next day if necessary.

Final Selection:
The final selection shall be based on the candidates’ performance in the following:

Performance in the Entrance Test/ GATE score (The absolute percentage of marks secured in the GATE shall be considered).
Performance in the interview.
Career Marks.
The choice in order of preference for the different programmes (CSE/IT) shall be exercised by the candidate during the interview.
The selected candidates shall be informed by mail. The same information shall also be available to you in the website.
* The test shall be held in the above said centers subject to minimum number of candidates otherwise the students will be asked to appear the test in the nearest center.

IIIT-B M.Tech Admissions 2009

IIIT-B invites applications for admission to the M.Tech program for the academic year starting in 2009. The M.Tech degree is awarded upon successful completion of a 4-semester, broad-based academic program in IT.

Eligibility
Minimum Requirements
The minimum qualification for admission to any of the programs at iiit-b is a first-class four-year bachelor's degree in engineering (i.e. B.E., B.Tech., or equivalent). M.Sc./MCA degree holders can also apply. Final-year students expecting to graduate by August 2009 may also apply.

Working Professionals
Working professionals applying for the M.Tech. program must get leave for the duration of the M.Tech. program. Such applications have to be sent through the employer (or accompanied by a letter from a supervisor or other authorized representative of the employer stating that there is no objection to the applicant's joining iiit-b as a student). Working students will also need sponsorship from the employer, or obtain support from other sources to meet their costs, as scholarships and other financial support are not available to working students.

International Students
Exceptional international students with valid GRE General Test scores and TOEFL scores as per the above requirements may apply for the M.Tech. program.

How to Apply
Applicants may either apply online at our website or apply offline by requesting for a paper-based application form.

The following fees are applicable:
Application Fee: Rs. 250/-
Online Entrance Exam Fee: Rs. 750/-

The Application Fee is payable by all the applicants. Applicants who have obtained a waiver for the entrance exam need not pay the Online Entrance Exam Fee. The rest of the applicants who are going to write the online entrance exam must pay the Online Entrance Exam fee.

Only the Application Fee of Rs 250/- is payable at the time of submitting the application. The Online Entrance Exam fee is payable ONLY at the time of exam at the examination center. This payment for Rs. 750/- should be made in the form of Demand Draft drawn on International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore.

DO NOT SEND THE EXAM FEE TO THE INSTITUTE. THIS SHOULD BE PRESENTED ONLY AT THE EXAMINATION CENTER ALONG WITH THE HALL TICKET.
