The objective of the course is to develop groomed manpower for the power sector having high skill and confidence in running a EHV substation as well as Distribution equipments. After completion of the course the students would be readily available working engineers in Indian Power Sector for taking over the charge of Operation & Maintenance of T&D sectors

This is a practical oriented modular course of 26 weeks duration covering the complete syllabus in conformity with CEA regulations 2010 to be held at Gurgaon (NCR)

Eligibility: B-Tech / B.E. or equivalent in Electrical Engineering with 27 years of age. Students studying in final year Engineering can also apply.

Jindal Institute of Power Technology (JIPT) offers Post Graduate Programme in Thermal Power Technology . To cater the need of technically trained power plant professionals for Power Utilities of India and abroad. The intake capacity for the course is 120 seats for 2013-14


Eligibility :A full time BE / B. Tech. from a recognized Institute in Mechanical / Electrical / EEE / Electronics / Control & Instrumentation with a minimum of 60% marks in Class X, XII and BE / B. Tech.


To Apply: Application Form is available on JIPT website (www.jipt.org). The application form is to be filled online. Application Fee of Rs. 1000/- is to be paid through Bank Demand Draft (in favour of JIPT, payable at Raigarh). National Power Training Institute (NPTI) invites applications for Graduate Engineers Course-Thermal Admissions 2013

The main aim of the course is to develop a pool of technically trained manpower readily available for recruitment to the Indian Power Sector.

This is a modular type course of One year duration. On-job training is conducted at the nearby Thermal Power Stations and the training on high tech simulator at NPTI, Delhi/Nagpur. The course covers the syllabus as per the Indian Electricity Rules. The participants who have successfully completed this course at this Institute
are entitled to obtain the Power Generating Station O&M Competency Certificate from State Electrical Licensing Boards.

Eligibility : B.E. or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical/Electrical & Electronics Engineering from a recognised Institution/ University with minimum of 60% marks with I Class/I Grade.

IGNOU Power Distribution Management Course 2012

IGNOU Advanced Certificate in Power Distribution Management (ACPDM) in collaboration with the Ministry of Power, USAID-India and the Power Finance Corporation under the Distribution Reform Upgrades and Management (DRUM) project.

The advanced certificate programme is meant for professionals employed in electrical power utilities or the electricity sector to upgrade their skills, enhance systematic efficiency and deliver quality power to the satisfaction of the beneficiaries.

The eligibility criteria for the programme is engineering graduates, engineering diploma, graduates or equivalent with two years experience in electricity sector.

The last date to apply for this programme is July 30, 2012 without late fee and August 14, 2012 with late fee of Rs.200. Student handbook and prospectus is available in all the regional centers of the university as well as in the university’s headquarters which can be purchased for Rs.100 and submitted along with the requisite fee in the form of a demand draft to the concerned regional centre.
