Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University invites applications for AMRITA ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (Medical) 2009 for Admission to MBBS / BDS / BAMS Programmes offered by the University.
Eligibility
a. Date of Birth:
MBBS / BDS / BAMS : Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or before 31st December 1992, i.e. at least 17 years of age as on 31st December 2009, but have not crossed the age of 23 years as on that date, are eligible to apply. Date of birth as recorded in the 10th standard/ school leaving certificate will
be taken as authentic.
b. Qualifications:
The candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination, or its equivalent in ONE attempt. Exemptions may be considered only on medical grounds, and the decision of the Chairman - Admissions will be final and binding. The last two years of such study should include Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. Students studying in foreign countries following a syllabus other than any Indian syllabus should produce an Equivalence Certificate from The Association of Indian Universities, A.I.U. c. Minimum Marks:
I. MBBS/BDS : Candidate must have obtained not less than 60% marks in English and a minimum of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the qualifying examination and 50% in the Amrita Entrance Examination. (For SC/ST candidates, minimum marks required is 50% and 40% in
the Amrita Entrance Examination).
II. BAMS : Candidate must have obtained not less than 60% marks in English and a minimum of 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the qualifying examination. For SC/ST candidates, minimum marks required in Plus-Two is 50%
