University of Kerala Ph.D Admissions 2015

University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram has invited applications from interested and eligible candidates to apply for its full time and part time Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programme.

Eligibility criteria :

The candidates interested in applying for this programme must possess minimum of 55 percent marks at Post Graduation examination.

Candidates belonging to SC and ST, who hold Post Graduation degree in Science and Applied Science faculties with minimum of 45 percent marks or Post Graduation degree in other faculties with 40 percent marks are eligible to apply for the test.

Candidates who have appeared for Post Graduation degree examination and are waiting for the results are also eligible to apply

Selection procedure :

An entrance exam will be conducted to shortlist the candidates. Candidates with DST-INSPIRE fellowship are exempted from Ph.D entrance test. Candidates who have qualified (GPAT) are exempted from Ph.D entrance test and are permitted to register for research leading to Ph.D degree in Pharmacy.

Also, those who have already qualified in the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Junior Research Fellowship or Lectureship of the UGC/CSIR or ICAR/GATE or ICMR JRF test can apply.

Application fee:

An application fee of Rs 1,000 is to be paid by the candidates. For the application form Rs 20 has to be paid. Candidates belonging to the SC/ST category have to pay Rs 500 as the application fee.

The candidates are required to log on to the official website and apply for the admissions.


Last date to apply online is August 31.

Filled in application with relevant documents and University pay-in-slip Rs. 250/- (Rupees Two hundred and fifty only) or a single DD for Rs.260/- (Rupees Two hundred and sixty only) towards Registration Fee and cost of application, in favour of the Finance Officer, University of Kerala from SBT/State District Co-operative Bank at Thiruvananthapuram should be sent to the PRINCIPAL of the concerned college.

SC/ST candidates must pay fees of Rs. 100/-(Rupees Hundred only), and Rs. 110/- (Rupees One hundred and ten only) if paid by DD.

Separate applications and pay-in-slip/DD are necessary for applying in different colleges.

The last date for receiving the filled in application will be 21.08.2013.

Central University of Kerala is launching two innovative inter-disciplinary courses in the Choice Based Credit Semester System for students who are interested in pursuing Postgraduate Studies in English and Economics:
(1) English
MA in Comparative Literature (School of Languages and Comparative Literature);

(2) Economics
MA in Economic Theory and Global Governance (School of Global Studies).

Eligibility : Graduation in any discipline with not less than 50% marks (minimum 50% marks in English compulsory)

Relaxation up to 5% marks granted for SC/ST candidates..
Admission will be on the basis of an Entrance Test.
