National Entrance Screening Test-NEST 2021 Admission to 5 year Integrated MSc Programmesin Biology, Chemistry,Mathematics and Physics at NISER and UM-DAE CEBS Mumbai

National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) is a compulsory test for students seeking admission to National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai - Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS), Mumbai. Both NISER and UM-DAE CEBS were set up by Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India in 2007. Their mandate is to train scientific manpower for carrying out cutting edge scientific research and for providing input to scientific programmes of Department of Atomic Energy and other applied science institutions in the country

Eligibility : 

* Candidates in the Unreserved and OBC categories must have been born on or after August 01, 2001. The age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ ST/ Divyangjan candidates.

* Class XII qualifying examination must have passed in either 2019 or 2020. Candidates appearing in 2021 are also eligible. (Where only Letter Grade is given by the Board, a certificate from the Board specifying equivalent percentage marks will be required. In the absence of such a certificate the decision of the respective Admission Committees will be final.)

* At least 60% marks in aggregate (or equivalent grade) in Class XII examination from any recognized Board in India. For Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates and for Divyangjan candidates, the minimum requirement is 55%.

* Candidate should secure a position in the NEST merit list.

University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram has invited applications from interested and eligible candidates to apply for its full time and part time Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programme.

Eligibility criteria :

The candidates interested in applying for this programme must possess minimum of 55 percent marks at Post Graduation examination.

Candidates belonging to SC and ST, who hold Post Graduation degree in Science and Applied Science faculties with minimum of 45 percent marks or Post Graduation degree in other faculties with 40 percent marks are eligible to apply for the test.

Candidates who have appeared for Post Graduation degree examination and are waiting for the results are also eligible to apply

Selection procedure :

An entrance exam will be conducted to shortlist the candidates. Candidates with DST-INSPIRE fellowship are exempted from Ph.D entrance test. Candidates who have qualified (GPAT) are exempted from Ph.D entrance test and are permitted to register for research leading to Ph.D degree in Pharmacy.

Also, those who have already qualified in the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Junior Research Fellowship or Lectureship of the UGC/CSIR or ICAR/GATE or ICMR JRF test can apply.

Application fee:

An application fee of Rs 1,000 is to be paid by the candidates. For the application form Rs 20 has to be paid. Candidates belonging to the SC/ST category have to pay Rs 500 as the application fee.

HBCSE carries out research and development in education in science, technology and mathematics from primary school up to undergraduate level. This research is informed by current perspectives in cognitive science, developmental psychology, history and philosophy of science and socio-cultural aspects of science and education. Pre-Ph.D. programs in these areas serve to orient students who may enter with varied backgrounds.

Eligibility :

* Candidates in General and OBC category should be born on or after July 22, 1994. The age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ ST/ Physically Disabled (PD) candidates.

* Class XII qualifying examination should be passed in either 2012 or 2013. Candidates appearing in 2014 are also eligible. (Where only Letter Grade is given by the Board, a certificate from the Board specifying equivalent percentage marks will be required. Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research-JNCASR Post Graduate Diploma in Science Education Admissions 2013

The PGDSE programme envisaged is to provide opportunities and training to teachers in science education. Various aspects that will be covered in the proposed programme would be subjected content, teaching methodology in science, laboratory experiments, research experience and experience in education technology. The training will be provided through projects and one or more formal courses.

In order to provide opportunities to teachers and others to receive training in science education, this Centre is offering a post-graduate diploma programme in science education (PGDSE). Aspects covered in the programme are: courses related to subject content, laboratory experiments, education technology and research experience. The training will be imparted through projects and formal courses. The programme is for two semesters beginning 1 August every year. A stipend of Rs. 10,000/- per month will be paid to those selected for the programme.

Eligibility: Teachers with B.Sc./M.Sc. with or without B.Ed. as well as from individuals who have B.Sc./M.Sc. qualification and interested in science education. In special cases, teachers working in the vicinity of Bangalore may be allowed to the PGDSE programme and in such cases; the course duration will be four semesters with a stipend of Rs. 6,000/- per month.

Post Graduate Diploma in Science Education - 2012

In order to provide opportunities to teachers and others to obtain training and for carrying out science education projects, this Centre is offering a post graduate diploma programme in science education-PGDSE. Aspects covered in the programme are : courses related to subject content, laboratory experiments, research experience and education technology. The training will be provided through projects and formal courses. The programme is foe two semesters beginning 1 August 2012. A stipend of Rs. 10.000/- per month will be paid to those selected for the programme.

Applications are invited from teachers with B.Sc / M.Sc with or without B.Ed qualification as well as from individuals who have B.Sc / M.Sc qualification interested in science education. In special cases,teachers working in the vicinity of Bangalore may be allowed to the PGDSE programme and in such cases,the course duration will be four semesters with a stipend of Rs. 6000/- per month.
