Eligibility criteria

Ph.D in Engineering: The interested candidates should have M.Tech /ME or equivalent degree. They should have passed the prescribed qualifying examination in first class with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.5/10 (6.0/10 in the case of SC/ST candidates) or not less than 60 percent aggregate marks (55 percent marks in the case of SC / ST candidates).

Ph.D in Science and Humanities: The interested candidates should possess a valid GATE / NET score. They should have M.Phil or equivalent degree, or M.Sc./M.Sc.(Tech) / MA or equivalent degree.

Selection procedure

An entrance test and an interview will be conducted for shortlisting and selecting the candidates.

National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela has invited applications for admissions to Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programme in Engineering, Science, Management and Humanities & Social Sciences for the session 2015-16. Educational qualification:

The candidates seeking admission in the programme should have M.E /M.Tech /M.Pharm in relevant discipline with at least 6.5 CGPA or 60 per cent marks in aggregate in B.Tech (and M.Sc /B.Pharm / MCA) and M.Tech levels from a recognised university.

Or

The candidates should have done B.E /B.Tech /B.Pharm /MCA or equivalent in relevant discipline, having obtained CGPA of 7.0 or 65 per cent marks in aggregate.

Or

The candidates should have done M.Sc in Basic Sciences, having acquired CGPA 7.0 or 65 per cent marks in aggregate in relevant disciplines.

The candidates should have studied M.B.B.S/B.V.Sc, having obtained CGPA 6.5 or 60 per cent marks in aggregate.

Selection process:

The candidates will be selected on the basis of academic records, qualification, interest in the research and performance in the tests and interviews.

University of Kerala Ph.D Admissions 2015

University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram has invited applications from interested and eligible candidates to apply for its full time and part time Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programme.

Eligibility criteria :

The candidates interested in applying for this programme must possess minimum of 55 percent marks at Post Graduation examination.

Candidates belonging to SC and ST, who hold Post Graduation degree in Science and Applied Science faculties with minimum of 45 percent marks or Post Graduation degree in other faculties with 40 percent marks are eligible to apply for the test.

Candidates who have appeared for Post Graduation degree examination and are waiting for the results are also eligible to apply

Selection procedure :

An entrance exam will be conducted to shortlist the candidates. Candidates with DST-INSPIRE fellowship are exempted from Ph.D entrance test. Candidates who have qualified (GPAT) are exempted from Ph.D entrance test and are permitted to register for research leading to Ph.D degree in Pharmacy.

Also, those who have already qualified in the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Junior Research Fellowship or Lectureship of the UGC/CSIR or ICAR/GATE or ICMR JRF test can apply.

Application fee:

An application fee of Rs 1,000 is to be paid by the candidates. For the application form Rs 20 has to be paid. Candidates belonging to the SC/ST category have to pay Rs 500 as the application fee.

Tamil Nadu Open University has announced admissions in the Ph.d courses. Tamil Nadu Open University is one of the famous and biggest Universities in Chennai. It has recently announced admissions for several programmes including Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) for the academic session 2015. For the selection processes of admissions, University is going to conduct written exam on January 24, 2015 at various centers in Chennai. Applicants who have studied under 10+2+3 pattern of education and qualified for the Master's Degree or candidate with Master's Degree less than 10+2+5 pattern of education from any recognized Institute are eligible to apply for this Tamil Nadu Open University Ph.d Admissions 2015.

Entrance Examination for eligibility for admission to Degree of Doctor of Philosophy Ph.D (PET) on 21st November, 2010 (Sunday) during 12.00 pm, to 2.15 pm at the Campus of Bhavnagar of University, Bhavnagar

Eligibility: A candidates holding recognized Master's degree or recognized degree equivalent to Master's degree with at least 48% or equivalent grades are eligible to appear in this examination in the subject he holds his master degree. A candidate who has appeared at the qualifying Master Degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited may also apply for this examination. However, such candidate shall be considered eligible for admission to degree of doctor of philosophy program; only after he has passed the Master Degree examination with 48% marks when the said result is declared. The certificate of passing Ph.D. entrance test shall be issued only after producing certificate of their passing Masters Degree with 48% marks. In case, if he does not pass his Masters Degree with 48% marks his result of Ph.D. entrance test shall automatically stand cancelled. However, five percent relaxation in eligibility condition would be given to the candidates of SC / ST category.

Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribes (ST)/Physically Handicapped (PH)/socially and Economically Backward Class (SEBC) should attach attested copy of necessary certificates with the application form.

Examination Fee:
(a) All categories of candidates: Rs.750/=00
(b) Candidates exempted to appear in Entrance Test: Rs. 500/=00
(c) In favour of "Coordinator, PET Examination-2010", payable at Bhavnagar on or before 30th October, 2010 by 4:00 pm. Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances and reasons what so ever.

The fee of Rs.750/ for the entrance test and 500 for the candidate who has been exempted from the entrance test should be paid in through DD

Those candidates who have been exempted from the Ph.D. eligibility test are also required to fill the application form along with the payment of Rs. 500 only through DD.

The applicants intend to submit application forms by post or in person should mention on the envelop "Application for Entrance Test for Eligibility of Admission to Ph.D (PET)"and send to "The Dy.
