JSW UDAAN is a flagship scholarship programme of JSW Foundation.This scholarship program is designed for helping students residing near the various JSW plant locations who cannot afford quality education due to the high fees structure. UDAAN scholarships would encourages them to counter their financial constraints and pursue academic excellence and career opportunities. This scholarship would not be applicable for JSW employees and their children.

Qualification criteria : Minimum 50% in Class 12, Minimum 50% in Graduation

Scheme is available to only student whose family income is less than 800000.00

NHFDC Scholarships Students with Disabilities 2014

National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC), for and on behalf of Department of Disability Affairs, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India, invites applications from Students with Disabilities for award of Scholarship under the following two Scholarship Schemes

Scholarship Scheme (Trust Fund)
Under this scheme, 2000 Scholarships will be awarded to eligible students with disabilities for degree and post graduate level professional and technical courses from recognized institutions in India

30% scholarships will be reserved for girls, which will be transferable to male students in case of non-availability of female candidates

Applicants may apply at any time in academic year for scholarship under this scheme. Scholarships will be awarded quarterly basis for the applications received in preceding quarter Under this scheme, an advance copy of application should also be submitted online (www.nhfdc.nic.in) by the candidate

Reimbursement of Non-Refundable fees restricted to the limit of fee of similar courses in Government/Government-aided institutions


Maintenance allowance will be paid to the students for 10 months @ Rs.2500/- per month for Professional Graduate Courses and Rs.3000/- per month for Professional Post-Graduate Courses in one academic year

Books/Stationery allowance will be paid to students pursuing Professional Graduate Courses @ Rs.6000/- per annum and Rs.10000/- per annum for pursuing Professional Post-Graduate Courses

Differently-abled students in addition will be provided financial assistance for purchase of aids & appliances (only once during life time)

Monthly income of the beneficiary /parent or guardian should not be more than Rs 25,000/- (Rs. 3.00 Lakh p.a.) from all sources. Family income includes income of parent/guardian

A Scholarship holder under this scheme will not avail any other scholarship/ stipend for pursuing the course

Scholarship Scheme (National Fund)
Under this scheme, 500 Scholarships will be awarded to eligible students with disabilities for pursuing higher academic/professional or technical qualification


Applicant has to apply online (www.nhfdc.nic.in) for scholarship from 01st July 2014 to 31st August 2014 and scholarship shall be awarded once in a academic year under this scheme


Scholarship of Rs 1000/- p.m. for hostellers and Rs 700/- p.m. for day scholars studying in professional courses at graduation and above level, and Rs 700/- p.m. for hostellers and Rs 400/- p.m. for day scholars pursuing Diploma/Certificate level professional course. Course fee reimbursed upto ceiling of Rs 10,000/- per year


Financial assistance can be given for computer with editing software for blind/deaf graduate and post graduate students pursuing professional courses and for support access software for cerebral palsy students


Monthly income of the beneficiary/parent or guardian should not be more than Rs 15,000/ - (Rs. 1.80 Lakh p.a.) from all sources. Family income includes income of parent/guardian


Scholarship holder under this scheme will not concurrently hold any other scholarship/stipend

London School of Economics-LSE is offering 50 scholarships to students from India studying a Master's programme at the LSE starting in 2013

Scholarships will range £3,00 to £32,000 depending on financial need

DAAD Scholarships 2012

Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst-DAAD, also known as German Academic Exchange Service. DAAD is a joint organisation of German institutions of higher education and student bodies.

Scholarships are open in the following areas

* Sandwich and short term : Teachers and scientist at Indian universities and research institution from any discipline who are highly qualified postgraduate or scholars registered for their PhD (in any discipline) at universities or research institutes in India can apply

PhD : Students who want to pursue a PhD degree at one of the German universities or research institutions or registered PhD students at an Indian university/institute.,who want to carry out research their PhD thesis in India and in Germany under the joint supervision of an Indian as well as a German professor,can apply. PhD degree will be awarded by Indian university/institution or to undertake a research project at one of the German universities or research institutions without any degree awarded.

Times Scholarship 2012

Times Scholars is an initiative by the Times of India to recognize and reward the brightest young minds in the country.

The top 20 Times Scholars will get a cash scholarship of Rs. 5,00,000 each. The amount will be transferred to the parent/guardian’s bank account in four annual instalments.

80 students will be given Rs. 5,000 each as a special mention scholarship.

The programme envisages creation of a cadre of the very brightest young minds in India, who will receive financial support, exposure and opportunity to rise to the pinnacle of scholastic achievement. Open to students in Class XII, it will select 20 Times Scholars each year, on the basis of their overall mental development. The process is simple and demands little time commitment, something we felt was key since applicants are in their crucial final year of school.

Eligibility : Students currently studying in Class XII of any school/college in India.

UGC Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Girl Child Post Graduate Education 2011

Compensating direct costs of girl education to all levels especially for such girls who happen to be the only girl child in their family.the objectives of the proposed scheme of the UGC are to support post-graduate education of single girl child in non-professional courses only.The value of scholarship is Rs.2000/- per month for a period of two years only. No other additional grant will be payable in lieu of hostel charges and medical charges etc.

Eligibility:

i) Any single girl child of her parents. In a family if one son and one daughter is available then girl child will not be considered for scholarship under the scheme.
ii) The scheme is applicable to such a single girl child who has taken admission in regular, full-time 1st year Masters Degree course in any recognized university or a post graduate college.
iii)This scholarship is available to PG-I year student only.
iv) Admission to PG Course in distance education mode is not covered under the scheme.

Age: Girl students up to the age of 30 years at the time of admission in PG courses are eligible.

K.C Mahindra Scholarships for Post-Graduate Studies Abroad 2011

The K. C. Mahindra Education Trust was founded by the late Mr. K. C. Mahindra in the year 1953, with an objective of promoting literacy and higher learning in the country. It is registered as a public Charitable Trust under the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950

The trustees of K.C. Mahindra Education Trust offer interest-free loan scholarships to Indian nationals for post-graduate studies abroad in various fields. Applications are invited for the K.C. Mahindra Scholarships for Post-Graduate Studies Abroad for the year 2011.

The Trust has introduced new scholarships worth Rs.24 Lacs for 3 top K.C. Mahindra Fellows. The maximum amount for this scholarship will be Rs.8 lacs per student and minimum amount will be Rs.5 lacs per student. For the rest of the students the maximum amount for scholarship will be Rs.95,000

Applicants for these scholarships are required to satisfy the following conditions :

They must possess a First Class degree or an equivalent diploma of the same standard from a recognized Indian university.
They must have secured admission or have applied for admission in reputable foreign universities for courses commencing from September, 2011 but not later than February, 2012.

Candidates studying in the Final Year of the degree or diploma courses are also eligible to apply provided they produce their final year certificate before end June, 2011.

Application forms can be collected from K.C. Mahindra Education Trust, Cecil Court, 3rd Floor, Near Regal Cinema, Mahakavi Bhushan Marg, Mumbai - 400 001. or download from www.nanhikali.org/aboutus/grant_scholarships, aspx and submitted in the prescribed format. Prescribed application forms duly filled in by the applicants together with necessary enclosures must reach the Trust Office before 31st March, 2011.

The final interview of the candidates will take place in the month of July, 2011. The interview date will be intimated to the selected candidates by the end of May, 2011.

UGC Post Graduate Merit Scholarship Scheme

University rank holders at undergrad level (general and honours courses) for the academic session 2009-11. For pursuing PG studies in basic subjects - non-professional courses only. Awardees under this scheme can pursue PG programs in any area of specialisation as also in any institution of higher learning in the country recognised by UGC. Schools are for two years at Rs.2000 pm (10 months in a year). There are 1800 schools per year for general course and 575 per year for honours course.

Eligibility-: First and second rank holder in general courses admitted in any postgraduate course. First rank holders in honours, pursuing postgraduate first-year course in 2009-10. School would be subject to securing min 60 per cent at undergraduate level. Details on www.ugc.ac.in.

Applications are invited from outstanding graduates holding at least a first class honours degree in Pure or Applied Sciences, Humanities, Law or Medicine of Indian Universities for five Rhodes Scholarships, for a course of study leading to a degree of the University of Oxford (UK).

Candidates in the final year of their degree courses with exceptional academic record may also apply. Candidates must demonstrate their continuing interest and achievement in extra curricular activities such as sports, theatre and community work. They must be below 25 years of age on October 1, 2010.

Eligibility-:

The Scholarships are open to citizens of India.

Candidates must be of such an age that they will have passed their 19th and not have passed their 25th birthday on the 1st October 2010.

Candidates must have at least a first class degree in Humanities, Sciences, Law, Engineering, Agriculture or Medicine from an Indian University. Candidates who are in the Final year of a degree course and have exceptionally bright academic record may also apply.

Candidates for medical studies should consult the Secretary, as well as the Medical School Offices at Oxford, before submitting an application. Particular difficulties may arise for those wishing to do research in clinical departments.

Marriage is not a bar to applying for, or holding, a Rhodes scholarship. However, married candidates should bear in mind that the scholarship stipend is sufficient only for one person, and that the Trust takes no financial responsibility for the support of a scholar's spouse. Moreover, spouses who are not British citizens will find it very difficult to obtain permission to undertake paid work in England.

Subject to ratification by the Rhodes Trustees, the Committee of Selection for India is responsible for deciding whether candidates comply with forgoing conditions, and for making the nominations.

K.C Mahindra scholarship 2009

The trustees of K.C Mahindra Education Trust offer interest-free loan scholarships to Indian nationals for post-graduate studies abroad.

Applications are invited fro the K.C. Mahindra Scholarship for the year 2009 for advanced studies in Engineering, Natural Sciences, Humanities, Medicine & Business Management including the study of Military, Naval and Aviation Sciences.

The maximum amount of scholarship payable to any scholar shall not exceed Rs.95, 000/-. Applicants for these scholarships are required to satisfy the following conditions:

* They must possess a First Class degree or an equivalent diploma of the same standard from a recognized Indian University.

* They must have secured admission or have applied for admission in reputable foreign universities for courses commencing from September, 2009 but not later than February, 2010.

Candidates studying in the FINAL YEAR of the degree or diploma courses are also eligible to apply, provided they produce their Final year Certificate before end of June, 2009.

Government and Quasi-Government Officers with a creditable academic record, going abroad for specialized qualifications are also eligible to apply.

Preliminary applications should be forwarded to The Manager, K.C. Mahindra Education Trust, Cecil Court, 3rd Floor, Near Regal Cinema, Mahakavi Bhushan Marg, Mumbai – 400 001, along with 25 cms × 18 cms self-addressed envelope with Rs.10.00 postage stamps affixed, which should reach him not later than 28th February, 2009. The prescribed application form will be sent only to those candidates who are considered to have the requisite qualifications as stated above.

Prescribed application forms duly filled in by the applicants together with necessary enclosures must reach the Trust Office before 31st March, 2009.

The final interview of the candidates will take place in the month of July, 2009. The interview date will be intimated to the selected candidates during the 3rd week of May, 2009
