NOVUS Scholarship for the life science community's enhancement and evolution, research is considered as a crucial component. AICTE Scholarships for Differently-abled Students

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is offering scholarship to 1000 differently-abled students who can show brilliance in and want to pursue technical education. It is an attempt to give every young student who is disabled, the opportunity to study further and to lead a successful and dignified future. The students must be a student of graduation course under AICTE.

The last date to submit application is November 30.
Eligibility criteria:

* Interested candidates must be in the 1st year of any diploma or degree course recognised by AICTE

* Further, the family income must be less than 8 lakh per annum

* For this scholarship, specially-abled students with 40 per cent disability can apply

Reward:

All the selected candidates will get up to Rs 30,000 as tuition fee and Rs 2,000 per month for 10 months as contingency allowance.

Further, Rs 30,000 will also be given for the purchase of books, equipment, software, laptop, desktop, vehicle, fee paid towards competitive examination applications form, exam, specific equipment, software's for visually impaired, speech and hearing disabled.

CBSE Central Scholarship Students 2017

The online application for "Central Sector Scheme for Scholarship for College and university students" for the year 2017, first renewal for the year 2016 and second renewal for the year 2015 is available on National Scholarship Portal (http://scholarships.gov.in). According to the CBSE, students may visit the National Scholarship Portal to apply for fresh & renewal of scholarship.

The last date for submission of online application form for 2017(Fresh) central sector scheme of scholarship for college and university students is October 31, 2017 and for the renewal scholarship for 1st renewal 2016 and 2nd renewal 2015 is August 31.

"All the candidates are advised to apply online within the stipulated time and get their online applications verified by the institutions (if required show the original documents to institute) else the application would be treated as INVALID," said the notification from CBSE.

The Ministry of HRD and the University Grants Commission has taken special interest with regard to promotion of higher education in the North East Region. For improving the GER, promoting higher education and for encouraging children belonging to economically weaker section of the NE region, the UGC has decided to launch “Ishan Uday” Special Scholarship Scheme for North Eastern Region from academic session 2014-15. Before launching the scheme the UGC undertook wide ranging consultations with State Governments and Central & State Universities of the NE region, the Ministry of HRD, the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region , the North Eastern Council, Shillong and other stakeholders.

Eligibility Criteria of the Ishan Uday Scholarship:

Learner with domicile of NER who have passed the Class XII or an equivalent exam from a school situated within the NER through any recognized Board of the Education, counting Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE), as well as National institute of open Schooling (NIOS) within the NER only.

Applicant has secured admission in broad degree course; technical as well as professional courses including medical as well as para-medical courses can apply for this scheme.

For availing scholarship under this scheme, the income of the parents of the student should not go beyond Rs.4.5 lakh per annum.

Amount of Ishan Uday Scholarship

An amount of the Rs.3500/- p.m. for the General Degree courses

Rs. 5000/- p.m. for the Technical as well as Professional courses (counting Medical as well as Para medical courses) will be given through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the recipient student.

Times Spark Scholarship 2017 for 9th/10th/11th/12th students

Times of India invites applications for Times SPARK (Scholarship Program for Awareness Responsibility and Knowledge) Scholarship programme for students studying from 9th std to 12th std.

Times Spark is an initiative by Times of India to encourage students of classes 9 – 12 to develop a reading habit that helps them understand about our society and environment, so that they can go on to write the future.

The Times of India will carry engaging articles across a range of fields like current affairs, science and technology, sports, politics, social issues, global development etc. Over a span of 3 months, these articles will provide multi-dimensional perspectives to help you get a deeper understanding of various interesting subjects.

Educational Testing Services- ETS has opened applications to the TOEFL scholarships. The USD 105,500 scholarships will be awarded to academically excellent students from India to pursuit of undergraduate or graduate study in India or abroad. ETS will award 15 USD 7000 scholarships to students to help them study further at any of the 9000+ institution that accepts the TOEFL test globally.

Eligibility

The competition is in two stages. To be eligible for this award, you must:

* reside in India
* start an undergraduate or graduate degree program between June 2016 and May 2017 at a college or university listed in the TOEFL Destination Search
* hold a grade point average of 80 or higher on a 100-point scale, or a 3.0 grade point average or higher on a 4-point scale
* demonstrate English proficiency with a valid TOEFL score
* complete the initial application by June 21, 2016

Based on the initial applications, 100 semifinalists will be selected. Semifinalists must exhibit:

* an outstanding ability to communicate
* demonstrated leadership skills
* well-rounded extracurricular activities, especially including community service
* innovative ideas as reflected in essays

National Talent Search Examination 2014

National Talent Search Examination- NTSE for the year 2014 will be conducted for Class 10 students for providing scholarships for the year 2014.

About National Talent Search Examination.
National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a national-level scholarship program in India to identify and recognise students with high intellect and academic talent. It is one of the most prestigious exams in India. Around 1,50,000 students appear in this scholarship exam every year.

The scheme is open to students of Indian nationality. Only students studying in Class X are eligible to appear for the selection process. As it is organised by an official body (NCERT), it is widely regarded by the Government of India as the toughest and most prestigious examination at high school level in the country

The purpose of the scheme is to identify talented students and nurture them. This year NCERT will conduct the National Talent Search Examination for students studying in Class X.

Eligibility: All students of Class X studying in recognized schools are eligible to appear for the Stage -I examination, conducted by the States/UTs, in which the schools are located. There will be no domicile restriction.

Exam Pattern:

The pattern of written examination will be as follows:

Stage I : examination at the State/UT level will comprise of two parts, namely

(a) Mental Ability Test (MAT) and
(b) Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), which also includes Language Comprehensive Test.

Stage II: examination at the National level will comprise of

(a) Mental Ability Test (MAT),

The James Cook University, Singapore Campus has been conducting the Scholarship Test in India for the last four years. This year the scholarship tests are going to be conducted in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai.

Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme 2013

The Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme aims at providing facilities to outstanding young children to develop their talents in various artistic fields. Children in the age group of 10 to 14 years studying either in recognized schools or belonging to families practicing traditional art forms are eligible for the scholarship.

The scholarship awarded under the scheme is for two years at a time which is renewable after every two years till the completion of the first university degree stage of education or up to the age of 20 years

Scholarship: 520 scholarships are awarded every year, of which 20 are being reserved for Specially Challenged children

The value of Scholarship is Rs 3600/- (Rs three thousand six hundred) per year and actual tuition fee paid for the specialized training is also reimbursed up to Rs 9000/- (Rs nine thousand) per year

Age: Children whose date of birth is in between 01st July, 1999 and 30th June, 2003 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply for the award of scholarships for the year 2013-14

Times Scholars is an initiative by the Times of India to recognize and reward the brightest young minds in the country.

The top 20 Times Scholars will get a cash scholarship of Rs. 5,00,000 each. The amount will be transferred to the parent/guardian’s bank account in four annual instalments.

80 students will be given Rs. 5,000 each as a special mention scholarship.

The programme envisages creation of a cadre of the very brightest young minds in India, who will receive financial support, exposure and opportunity to rise to the pinnacle of scholastic achievement. Open to students in Class XII, it will select 20 Times Scholars each year, on the basis of their overall mental development. The process is simple and demands little time commitment, something we felt was key since applicants are in their crucial final year of school.

The purpose of the NTSE scheme was to identify talented students and nurture their talent. Talent refers to the potentiality that manifests itself in a high level of performance in one or more specialized areas. The scheme, therefore, covers areas like Sciences, Social Sciences, Engineering, Medicine, Management and Law. It honours and helps talented students by providing financial assistance in the form of a monthly scholarship. For the courses in Basic Sciences, Social Sciences and Commerce, this assistance is provided up to Ph.D. level. For professional courses like Engineering, Medicine, Management and Law this assistance is given only up to Post Graduation.

* NTSE will be conducted for Class X students

* The examination will consist of Mental Ability Test(MAT) and Scholastic Ability Test(SAT)

* Quota for State/UT will be computed proportionally on the basis of students enrolment in Class IX and X

* The amount of scholarship will be Rs. 500/- per month for all the students studying in Class XI onwards(irrespective of class/course) except for Ph.D.,wherein it is paid as per UGC norms.

British Council IELTS Scholarship Award 2012

The British Council IELTS Scholarship Award was launched with the objective of assisting Indian students intending to study at universities abroad. Keeping with its mission to promote the global sharing of knowledge and ideas, IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is the world’s leading English language test designed to evaluate ability to communicate in English for education, immigration and professional accreditation worldwide.

Eight successful scholarship award winners will receive an award of Rs. 3,00,000/- each towards the cost of tuition fees. The award winners will begin a full time postgraduate programme at any overseas university that uses IELTS as a part of its admission requirements and as a reliable measure of English language proficiency.
