United States-India Educational Foundation- USIEF Teaching Excellence and Achievement- TEA 2015

The USIEF Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) Program provides international teachers with unique opportunities to develop expertise in their subject areas, enhance their teaching skills, and increase their knowledge about the United States. TEA consists of a six-week non-degree, non-credit customized academic program including seminars on new teaching methodologies, curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional technology. Participants will also participate in a practicum in a US secondary school near their host university to work closely with US teachers and teach and present to US students. Cultural enrichment, mentoring, and support will be provided throughout the program. The international participants will travel to the United States in two cohorts of approximately 75 teachers each in spring or fall 2015.


Upon returning home, TEA program alumni are eligible to apply for small grants for essential teaching materials, follow-on training for other teachers, collaborative projects between schools in their home country and the United States, and other activities that build on their US experience.

Eligibility :

* Be a full-time school teacher (6th to 12th grades) in a school that serves a primarily local (not expatriate) population;

* Have five or more years of classroom experience in TEA teaching disciplines: English, EFL, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, or special education

* Be citizens of India and be qualified to hold a valid Indian passport;

* Live and teach in Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh;

* Hold a Bachelor’s degree in the teaching subject with a teacher training degree;

* Be present in India at the time of submitting the application and for the interview;

* Obtain a minimum score of 450 on paper based TOEFL or equivalent English language examination*;

* Demonstrate a commitment to continue teaching after completion of the program; and

* Have submitted a complete application.

The Indo-US Science and Technology Forum-IUSSTF in association with Science and Engineering Research Board-SERB of Department of Science and Technology-DST Government of India announces the Indo-US Research Fellowships with the objective to enable young researchers from India to carry out research in frontier areas of science and technology at a premier institution in USA

Eligibility Criteria for Indo-US Research Fellowship
Academic Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Science, Engineering,Technology or Medicine.

Applicants must provide proof of independent research work in internationally recognized academic journals.

Age: Upto 40 years as on 31 December 2012

Employment: A permanent position in a public funded R&D lab/ S&T institution (non-private)/ recognized universities/colleges in India

Area of Work: Area proposed by the candidate should be clearly defined as:

* Atmospheric and Earth Sciences
* Chemical Sciences
* Engineering Sciences
* Life Sciences
* Medical Sciences
* Mathematical and Computational Sciences
* Physical Sciences

Place of Work : The applicant should have letter or acceptance from reputed US scientific/technological institution where the applicant will be undertaking the research work under the Fellowship

India-US Higher Education Summit 2011

India-US Higher Education Summit aimed at providing a platform for government and education leaders from both countries to outline their vision for 21st century education engagement will be held on October 13.

The United States and Indian Governments will convene a summit on higher education in Washington, DC on October 13, 2011, chaired by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Minister of Human Resource Development Kapil Sibal. The Summit will explore how government, universities, and business can collaborate to create innovative and sustained higher education partnerships between the United States and India. The two governments also announced an expanded U.S.-India Higher Education Dialogue as a forum for deepening linkages and cooperation. The dialogue will occur annually and will incorporate U.S. and Indian higher education officials and members of the private sector on a rotating basis.

Indo-US Research Fellowship for Indian Researchers

The objective of the Indo-US Research Fellowship Program for Indian Researchers is to introduce scientists and engineers in the early stages of their careers to international collaborative research opportunities, thereby furthering their research capacity and global perspective and forging long-term relationships with scientists, technologists and engineers in USA.

These awards will provide an excellent opportunity to young Indian scientists and technologists of all disciplines, under the age of 40 years to interact with the American scientific community and get first hand information of the developments taking place at the international level and acquaint themselves with new scientific research methods and to collaborate in a larger research project. It will enable young Indian researchers to carry out a clearly defined research project at a place of their choice in USA upto a period of 12 months. The individual availing this fellowship would be called as an IUSSTF Research Fellow.

Study in USA Seminar 2011 GeeBee Education

GeeBee Education has organised free guidance seminars on study in USA. The topics to be covered include clacking the exams GRE/GMAT/SAT/TOEFL, selecting top ranked universities, scholarships, visa interviews, bank loans, among others. The keynote speaker at the free guidance seminar is Vinayak Kamat. Students will be given free information guide on Study in USA written by Kamat.

Students will be introduced to several top-ranked universities in the USA offer full/partial scholarships to deserving international students. IDP Education India Educational Fair 2011

IDP Education India, the largest student placement company in the world organized an educational fair for the students in the city aspiring to pursue higher education in US. The fair got an overwhelming response from Indian students with more than 300 students attending the event. This event bought together prominent universities and educational institutes under one roof.

IDP seeks to provide an all-inclusive platform to the students looking at US for higher education. This channel offers the students an opportunity to interact with the university representatives directly and facilitates exchange of information. IDP intend to ensure that the future of the students is in safe hands.”

The fair helped students get application fee waiver and the universities are also offered scholarships to qualified students at the venue. The students also got on-spot offers. 12 US institutions participated in the fair and it was a free platform for all students to gauge their prospects of studying at US.
