Applications are invited for admission to Ph.D Programme (regular, sponsored and individual fellowship (i.e. CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR/INSPIRE categories) in all disciplines of Engineering, Technology, Science, Architecture & Regional Planning, Humanities & Social Sciences and Law.

In the year 1956, the Parliament of India passed an act known as the Indian Institute of Technology (Kharagpur) Act declaring this institute as that of national importance.

Eligibility criteria :

The candidates applying for this should have completed his graduation in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / M.Sc with 60 per cent (55 per cent for SC/ST) of marks from any of the recognised universities.

Selection process:

The selection of the candidates would be based on the written test score and personal interview conducted by the institute.

Application Fee:

A demand draft of Rs 500 and Rs 250 for SC/ST drawn in in favor of IIT Kharagpur, should be payable at Kharagpur, West Bengal.

The interested candidates are required to fill in the online application form. The filled form along with the demand draft should be payable at Kharagpur, West Bengal.

Indian Institute of Technology- IIT Kharagpur is starting its first international summer and winter term(ISWT) where the national and international participants will get an opportunity to seek knowledge and experience from the reputed International faculty through intensive study of subjects and personal interactions. By bringing together participants and faculty from India and around the world, the ISWT will not only be academically stimulating but also offer an opportunity to make new friends and to interact with international experts.

Participants from Industry, Research Organisations, Faculty and Students from all over the world are welcome to register for the 19 subjects offered during the summer term and 9 subjects during the winter term. These subjects are designed around current and multidisciplinary themes of Science, Engineering, Management and Law. The duration for each subject is of 2 weeks or 10 working days with a judicious blend of lectures and tutorials per day.

Eligibility :
The eligibility criterion for admission to MMST students is MBBS Degree (recognised by Medical Council of India) with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate and having studied mathematics at +2 level (even as additional subject) or from any recognized Open University. Seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC(Non creamy layer) candidates and persons with disability as per Govt. of India rules.

MMST students - The selection of is strictly based on the performance of the candidates in an objective type of written test of 2 hours duration. The candidate needs to answer 120 questions out of which 75 questions are assigned to the MBBS syllabi. The remaining questions are equally distributed to cover the syllabi of +2 level Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each correct answer carries one mark and each wrong answer carries negative 0.25 marks. Candidates qualifying in the admission test will be called for counseling at IIT Kharagpur before final selection.

MMST 2012 application is to be submitted only by an ONLINE process (internet based) by accessing the website http://gate.iitkgp.ac.in/mmst from 23 January 2012 till 9 March 2012. The candidate should first pay the Application Fee by obtaining a Demand Draft drawn in favour of IIT Kharagpur on any nationalised bank payable at Kharagpur, West Bengal. The draft details are require while filling up the ONLINE application form after successful submission of data. The printed form, with candidate's signature and photograph pasted at appropriate place, and the Demand Draft must be sent by speed post so as to reach by 15 March 2012 to The Chairman, GATE, IIT Kharagpur, Kharagpur - 721302.

Following additional documents should be mailed along with the printed Application Form :
1. Attested copy of OBC (Non-creamy)/SC/ST/PD certificate (if applicable)
2. Attested copies of MBBS Degree (recognized by MCI) with mark sheet of all years as a proof of obtaining a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate.
3. Attested copy of proof of having studies Mathematics at +2 level (even as an additional subject)

Vinod Gupta School of Management-VGSOM is the first B-school in the IIT system offering 2 years full-time residential MBA Programme.

Candidates must posses First class Bachelor's degree in any branch of Engineering/Technology or First class Master's degree in Science, Economics or Commerce with Mathematics or Statistics equivalent CGPA for SC/ST candidates.

Our Institute use CAT for short-listing the candidates for our MBA programme. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of programme.

The school follows GOI norms on the reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC candidates and persons with disability.

IIT Kharagpur is committed to ensure that a student's financial resources do not become a constraint for pursuing MBA education at the school. The school has put in place a liberal financial aid programme that offers partial of full assistance for up to 30% of the enrolled students. In addition, bank loans may be availed by students at preferential rates and payment terms to meet their fees and expenses. A candidate's need for financial resources for pursuing the MBA course will not be considered while taking the decision to offer admission to the candidate.

Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law is the first of its kind law school to impart legal education with IP specialization within the IIT System bringing synergy among science, technology, management and law. The School offers a Six-Semester, Three-Year Full-Time residential programme leading to the Degree of Bachelor of Law with specialization in Intellectual Property Rights with the requirements of the Bar Council of India.

Curriculum has been prepared based on the requirements of Bar Council of India. In addition several specialized courses in law and Intellectual Property Rights are offered.
