National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health Admission to Ph.D. Programme (2009 – 2010)
For ICMR-JRF and CSIR-UGC NET Examination Qualified Candidates
National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health, Mumbai, a premier institute of the Indian Council of Medical Research, conducts basic, clinical and operational research in different areas of reproductive health. The thrust areas of research include: Fertility Regulation, Infertility and Reproductive Disorders, Reproductive Tract Infections, Maternal and Child Health, Menopause, Genetic Disorders, Stem Cell Biology, Structural Biology, Bioinformatics, Reproductive Toxicology, Pharmacogenomics and Proteomics. Institute is affiliated to the University of Mumbai for the award of Ph.D. degree in Applied Biology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences and Biotechnology.
Candidates who are interested in pursuing Ph.D. programme at this Institute may submit their application provided if they fulfill the following criteria.
Should have qualified in ICMR-JRF or CSIR/UGC NET examination and the fellowship certificate should be valid at the time of joining this Institute, in case selected.
Should have a M.Sc. degree in any area of Biological Sciences and should have scored 60% or more marks in the M.Sc. examination
Age not exceeding 28 years at the time of joining (upper age limit relaxable upto 5 years in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST, physically handicapped (PH) and female candidates, 3 years in the case of OBC category.
Interested candidates may submit their application in the prescribed format through e-mail to mahales@nirrh.res.in before 31 st December 2009 . All the eligible candidates who fulfill the criteria mentioned above may appear for the interview, to be held on 12 th January 2010 from 10.00 am onwards. Please note that no TA/DA will be paid to attend the interview.

National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health-NIRRH Ph.D. Admissions 2009
National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health-NIRRH Mumbai, a premier institute of the Indian Council of Medical Research, conducts basic, clinical and operational research in different areas of reproductive health. The thrust areas of research include: Fertility Regulation, Infertility and Reproductive Disorders, Reproductive Tract Infections, Maternal and Child Health, Menopause, Genetic Disorders, Stem Cell Biology, Structural Biology, Bioinformatics, Reproductive Toxicology, Pharmacogenomics and Proteomics. Institute is affiliated to the University of Mumbai for the award of Ph.D. degree in Applied Biology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences and Biotechnology.
We invite applications from candidates who have passed M.Sc. in biological sciences/M.Pharm./M.V.Sc./M.B.B.S. (securing more than 55% marks), age not exceeding to 28 years as on 30 June, 2009 , and willing to take up challenges in modern biology through Ph.D. programme of the Institute. The candidates who have passed ICMR-JRF or CSIR/UGC NET examination will be paid fellowship as per the rules of these agencies. Other selected candidates will initially be paid Rs.8000/- per month and encouraged to seek higher fellowship from other funding agencies.
The permissible relaxations in age / qualification (percentage of marks) etc. to SC / ST / other reserved category / departmental candidates will be given as per rules of Government of India adopted by the ICMR. Application on the prescribed format should reach the Director, National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health, Mumbai latest by 30 June, 2009 . A demand draft of Rs.200/- (No application fee required for SC/ST/PH candidate) drawn in favour of “Director, NIRRH, Mumbai” should be submitted with the application. Since it is not possible to call all the eligible candidates for the interview, the applications will be short-listed and the decision of the Officer-in-charge, NIRRH will be final. Short listed candidates will be invited for personal interview.
