Company will sponsored candidates meeting above eligibility criteria and having minimum two years uninterrupted work experience are exempt from CAT/GMAT/XAT.

CAT is used only for shortlisting the candidates and IIMs have No role either in selection process or in conduct of the programme.

Eligibility :

First class or 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST)/CGPA or CPI of 6.0 in Master’s Degree in Engineering/ Technology (M.E./M.Tech.) or equivalent and valid GATE score (GATE exam taken after M.Tech is also acceptable)

First class or 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST)/CGPA or CPI of 6.0 in Master’s degree in Science and valid CSIR/UGC/NBHM/DBT/DST Inspire Award or Fellowship

Candidates meeting one of the above requirements will have to qualify in a subject-wise written test and interview. The written test will be on the lines of GATE/NET to test aptitude of a student in his/her respective subject area.

Eligibility :
Admission will be based on IIT JEE–2012 Rank List. The candidate should have a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (55% in case of SC/ST/Physical Disability) in class 12th or equivalent.

M.Tech.

Eligibility :

BTech in Petroleum Reservoir and Production Engineering (4-year full time programme)

The Energy and Petroleum Sector plays a pivotal role in our country’s economic development. BTech in Petroleum Refining Engineering (4-year full time programme)

Crude oil is processed in refineries to manufacture a wide range of petroleum products for transportation, industrial use, heating etc. Over the years, through extensive research, the refining technology has undergone substantial improvements. In the coming era, the industry will have immense challenges concerning technology improvements. The refineries would have to exhibit the desirable characteristics of being energy-efficient, environmentally-friendly and cost-effective. Research and Development in Refining Technology will continue to be the focus area to meet these challenges. Thus, the need for experts in refinery technology and processing will increase greatly, opening an exciting career avenue. BTech in Petroleum Refining offered by RGIPT provides a unique opportunity to students to pursue a career in this area. Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) Jais, Rae Bareli, U.P. an Autonomous Institute under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, invites applications for
M.Tech. in Petroleum Engineering. and
Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering

M.Tech. in Petroleum Engineering.
The programme will start from January, 2009. Full time, regular students who have qualified GATE and have been admitted will be eligible for assistant ship. Sponsored candidates (from Government Organisations / Public Sector Organisations / Other industries) may also be considered for admission, but no financial assistance will be provided to such candidates. They do not require GATE score. They should have at least 2 years of work experience.

Minimum Requirements:
B.Tech degree in Petroleum/Chemical/Mechanical Engineering with 65% marks or CPI of 6.5, and a valid GATE score. Sponsored candidates do not need a GATE score.

Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering
(Registration open all year round).

The following types of students will be considered for admission

a) Regular (Full Time). The students should have cleared GATE. Such students will receive institute assistantship.

b) Sponsored (Full Time) Sponsored candidates (from Government Organisations/Public Sector Organizations/Other industries) may also be considered after their interviews, but no financial assistance will be provided to such candidates. They should have at least 2 years of work experience.

c) Part-time students
Those who are employed in reputed institutes or in oil industries and have acquired a minimum of three years of experience can also apply for the registration as Part-Time Ph.D. students at RGIPT.

d) External candidates with atleast 3 years of experience in Government Organizations / Public Sector Organizations / Other industries having adequate research facilities may be considered. In such cases the research work should be of interest to RGIPT and should be separate from the candidate’s regular work for the organization where the candidate is employed. Such candidates should work under a Supervisor within his parent organization and the overall guidance will be provided by the major guide from RGIPT under whom the candidate should register for Ph.D. No financial assistance will be provided to such candidates. Such applications may be accepted during any time of the year.

Minimum Requirements:
a) M.Tech degree in Petroleum/ Chemical/ Mechanical Engineering with 65%
marks or CPI of 7.0 .

b) B.Tech/B.E. Degree in above areas with 70%marks or CPI of 8.0 (for direct
admission to PhD)

Important Dates and Information:
Last Date of Receipt of Application Forms for M. Tech: 3rd December, 2008.
(For PhD, one can apply anytime during the year.)

The MBA in Petroleum & Energy Management program offered by RGIPT's 'Department of Management Studies' is designed as a career-oriented program aimed at the Petroleum & Energy sector. The program is designed to facilitate students in understanding, developing, integrating and applying knowledge of both core and specialised areas of management and their concepts and practices in the domain of the Petroleum & Energy Sector.

The focus will be to impart extensive training in the various areas of specialisation through electives, thereby providing a wide array of career opportunities in the sector.

FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES: NOIDA

The primary objective of the Faculty of Management Studies is to spawn a cadre of human resource who will acquire the necessary skills and competencies to manage the key positions in various segments of the petroleum sector covering the entire energy spectrum. Apart from offering educational programs of the highest quality at the MBA, Executive MBA and PG Diploma levels, specialized short term continuing education programs will be available for working professionals on the emerging business concepts.

Eligibility CRITERIA

MBA in Petroleum & Energy Management

Eligibility:

The candidates having the following degrees and fulfilling other conditions listed below are eligible to apply for the MBA Program

Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Pharmacy/B.Sc. Agriculture Engineering (Minimum of 4 Years duration after 10+2. Mathematics must be one of the subjects in 10 + 2. The Bachelor's degree must have AICTE recognition.)
Masters degree in any branch of Physical/Chemical/Mathematical Sciences like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Electronic Science, Environmental Science, Applied Geological Sciences, Operational Research, Computational/Information Science, Agriculture or Master’s Degree in Commerce/Economics/Psychology.
Qualified in JMET 2008 or CAT (NOV 2007) or GMAT (After June 2007).

Individuals appearing in the final year examination of the above degrees may also apply. However, such candidates must have the results of the qualifying examination as above before the last date of registration i.e. 31 July 2008 and submit it to RGIPT.

A Minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters) or 6.75 CGPA on a 10-point scale or equivalent in the above mentioned degree programs is essential for admission. Those applying with MSc degrees must fulfil this condition in their Bachelor's degree as well. A relaxation of 5% in marks or 0.50 in CGPA will be given to SC/ST/OBC (excluding the creamy layer) and PH candidates as per the Institute norms. Candidates who have qualified the JMET 2008, CAT held In November 2007 or GMAT taken after June 2007 and fulfil the above educational qualifications are invited to apply to the RGIPT MBA program. They will be short listed and thereafter invited for a group discussion and interview.

Fee Structure

The tuition fee of Rs. 12,500 per trimester has been fixed for the students of the MBA program. In addition, the students have to pay other fees like insurance, alumni fees, Gymkhana fees, etc. which is likely to be Rs. 6,000 per trimester. SC/ST students are exempted from paying tuition fees but are required to pay the other fees. Foreign and Non-resident Indians are required to pay tuition fees and other fees amounting to US$ 4,000 per trimester.
