To interface interdependent disciplines of computer science and pure sciences as also application programming and scientific computing, it is one of the first of its kind in India. It has close association with the Department of Chemistry and the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC).The department currently offers Master of Computer Science(M.C.S.), with specialization in Scientific Computing conducted at the University of Pune.

Pune University admission to M.Sc in Scientific Computing is based on the entrance examination conducted at Pune. This examination is designed to test the speed and power of your reasoning and your grasp of the fundamental concepts of mathematics and C-programming. Mathematics done at graduation level will be tested. C-programming will include questions on programming fundamentals and C-language syntax. Your competence in English language will also be evaluated. Sample questions are provided to give you an idea of nature of examination.

Eligibility :
B.Sc. (Computer Science)/B.C.S. with minimum 50% marks (40% in case of Reserved Categories)
OR
B.E. (Computer Engineering/Information Technology/Electronics and Tele-Communication/Instrumentation and allied areas).
The candidate should have Mathematics as one of the subjects in std. 12th.

University of Pune Admission to Integrated M.Tech – Ph.D Program in Technology (2011 – 12)

University of Pune invites application for Newly introduced Integrated M.Tech – Ph.D Program and Ph.D program in the Faculty of Technology. These are the Programmes based on interdisciplinary approach involving industry sponsorship. These programmes aim at creating human resource which can meet the expectation of industry and at the same time provide highest level of academic leadership in Science and Engineering.

Eligibility Criteria
(A) M.Tech – Ph.D Programme – A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Master’s degree in Science with minimum 60% marks. Relaxation of 5% marks in case of the candidates belonging to SC/ST Categories.

(B) Ph.D Programme – Master’s Degree in Engineering / Technology with minimum 60% of marks. Relaxation of 5% marks in case of the candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.

University of Pune MBA Admissions 2009

University of Pune's MBA in Biotechnology course.

Eligibility

Any science/medical/engineering/pharmacy graduate with 45 per cent marks (40 per cent for reserved category) from a recognised university and the candidate should have appeared for ATMA test to be conducted on February 8.

Selection process

Based on overall merit of ATMA score and GD/PI conducted by PUMBA.

Reservations

50 per cent seats are reserved for the SC/ST, DT, NT, OBC category candidates from Maharashtra State.

University of Pune BINC examination 2009

University of Pune, on behalf of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, will conduct the BINC examination on February 21-22, 2009.

The objective of this examination is to certify bioinformatics professionals, trained formally as well as self-trained.
