IGNOU Post Doctoral Certificate in Dialysis Medicine

IGNOU in collaboration with the ministry of health and family welfare- MoHFW runs a postdoctoral certificate programmes in dialysis medicine- PDCDM for postgraduate in in medicine and pediatrics.

The one year PDCDM programme covers areas such as haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. The programme will equip students to operate the dialysis machine, catheterise patients apart from making various shunts and fistulas to enable the dialysis

The course material available in the form of booklets and videos has been tailor-made for this programme with the help of nephrologists belonging to prestigious institutions from across the country including AIIMS, New Delhi.

In this programme post graduate Doctors with MD in Medicine or Paedetrics will be trained to handle stand alone dialysis units. They will be posted in tertiary hospitals identified by the Ministry for a period of six months for this training.

This programme is open to sponsored candidates and private practitioners.

CSIR - IIIM invites application for admission to Ph.D. programme in the relevant areas of research in the Institute.

Conditions for eligibility - M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Chemistry / Pharmaceutical sciences and qualified in CSIR-UGC-NET, ICMR, DBT examination for Junior Research Fellowship. The fellowship should be valid as on the date of joining. Candidates appearing in final exams in 2011 and who have cleared the above exams for JRF can also apply.

How to Apply - Candidates need to fill up the application form till 18th May, 2011 that can be downloaded from the Institute's website. Applications should be sent by email to phd_programme@iiim.ac.in as an attachment. Hard copy of the application along with photocopies of certificates of date of birth, educational qualifications and proof of qualifying JRF examination should be sent by post/by hand to Chairman, Academic Affairs Committee, Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Canal Road, Jammu - 180 001 so at to reach latest by 25th May, 2011. National Institute of Immunology Ph.D Admission Process 2010

The National Institute of Immunology (NII) is an autonomous institution supported by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. The Institute is committed to advanced research addressing the basic mechanisms involved in body's defence, host-pathogen interactions and related areas with a view to contribute to the creation of an internationally competitive intellectual knowledge base as a sustainable source of innovative futuristic modalities of potential use in health care.

National Institute of Immunology (NII) invites applications for its Ph.D. programme. Cutting-edge research at the Institute encompasses broad interdisciplinary areas –
1) Chemical Biology
2) Genetics & Cell Signaling
3) Immunity & Infection
4) Molecular & Cellular Biology
5) Reproduction & Development
6) Structural & Computational Biology


Minimum qualifications-:
M.Sc. in any branch of Science (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics) or M.Tech. or M.B.B.S. or M.V.Sc. or M.Pharm. or equivalent qualification recognized by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, is required.

First Division or equivalent grade or at least 60% of aggregate scores in all major examinations from Senior Secondary Certificate (10+2) onwards is required.

Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination this year may also apply; they will be admitted provisionally pending satisfactory fulfillment of the above requirements at the time of joining.

Reservations are as per statutory norms.

Selection procedure-:
Candidates fulfilling minimum requirements will be invited for a written qualifying test at their own expenses on February 13,2010 at any of the following
four centres - Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata & Ahmedabad. The Institute shall try to accommodate the choice of centers indicated by the candidate.
However, in case of non-availability of a seat at the centers chosen by the candidate, the candidate shall be required to appear for the written qualifying test at the centre allotted by the Institute.

The written test is aimed at evaluating abilities to comprehend, analyse and reason. Therefore, the examination is General Aptitude Test & no separate syllabus is prescribed.

The results of the written test along with the details of the interviews shall be available on the website of the Institute as well as on the Notice Board of the Institute
on February 22,2010.

Interviews will be held at National Institute of Immunology, New Delhi from June 3-6, 2010. The Interviews will be held in two stages. The candidates will be short-listed for the final interview based on their performance in the first interview. Final interview will be held in the last two days.

The selected candidates would be paid second class train fare for joining the Ph.D. Programme on providing the proof of journey.

Candidates selected after the interviews will be enrolled for the Ph.D. programme of Nil in academic affiliation with JNU, New Delhi.

Ph.D. Programme-:
The programme will start on 15th July, 2010.

The Institute will provide a Fellowship stipend of Rs.12000/14000/- per month depending on the degree qualifications.

Shared hostel accommodation will be available on request. The request for single occupancy shall be considered only after the completion of 3rd year subject to the availability of accommodation.

Items 3 and 6 in the format should be typed as shown in he Senior Secondary School Certificate or equivalent.

Each page of the application form should be SIGNED by the candidate.

Completed applications MUST BE accompanied with the crossed DEMAND DRAFT for Rs.500/- of 6 months validity in favour of 'Director, National Institute of
Immunology', payable at Canara Bank, Jit Singh Marg, New Delhi. A Demand Draft for Rs.300/- is acceptable from SC/ST candidates, provided relevant documentary proof is enclosed. The drafts are not refundable.

Copies of the certificates or mark sheets SHOULD NOT BE enclosed with the application.

TWO recent passport size PHOTOGRAPHS should be enclosed. One of these should be signed by the candidate and pasted on the application form.

Two self-addressed stamped (Rs.5/-) envelopes of 10 cm x 22 cm should also be enclosed.
