COMEDK PGET 2014 Application Process

Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka- COMEDK invites applications for admission to Post Graduate Medical/ Dental Courses in its 12 Medical and 19 Dental Member Institutions through COMDEK PGET 2014 which will be held on 02/02/2014.

* Post Graduate Medical Degree
* Post Graduate Medical Diploma
* Post Graduate Dental Degree
* Post Graduate Dental Diploma

Eligibility :

Must possess recognized M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. degree or equivalent qualification and should have obtained permanent registration with the Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India, or any of the State Medical / Dental Council or should obtain the same within one month from the date of admission. Must have completed or completing their internship by 30/04/2014 at the latest.

The minimum percentage of marks in the Entrance Test (COMEDK PGET-2014) for eligibility and admission to Post Graduate Courses shall be 50% for General Merit candidates and 40% for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes (All India) and Other Backward Classes belonging to Karnataka State only.

Demand Draft for Rs. 2250/-as application fee shall be drawn only from the Nationalised banks (as mentioned in the COMEDK brochure) in favour of COMEDK payable at Bangalore.

Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) , Bangalore, invites applications for through “Common Entrance Test-2012″ for admissions to first year Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga / Engineering / Technology / Architecture courses for the seats to be notified by the Government in the Professional Educational Institutions in the state of Karnataka for the academic year 2012-13.

Admissions to professional courses in Karnataka for the year 2012-13

Eligibility

(a) For Medical / Dental courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std. or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and with English as one of the languages of study and have obtained a minimum of 50% (40% for SC/ ST) of marks in aggregate in the PCB group and should secure a minimum of 50% ((40% for SC/ ST) ) of marks in aggregate in PCB subjects in the Common Entrance Test.

(b) For Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC /12th std. or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and with English as one of the languages of study and have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in PCB group irrespective of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test. Candidate should have completed the age of 17 years as on 31st of December 2012.

(c) For Engineering /Technology courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology as optional subjects with English as one of the languages of study and obtained a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects, irrespective of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test.

(d) For Architecture course, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent examination with Mathematics as a compulsory optional subject and obtained a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in all the subjects in the qualifying examination (45% of marks in case SC/ ST and Other Backward Classes and person with disability of mental retardation or mental illness (including dyslexia), and should compulsorily appear for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) and get a minimum of 40% in it.

Candidate must appear for the Common Entrance Test conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority, for PCB subjects in case of admission to Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses and PCM subjects in case of admission to Engineering / Technology courses. For admission to Architecture course the candidate must appear for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture and they must compulsorily obtain CET-2012 brochure and submit the filled application form.

Brochure cum application form will be supplied through the schools / colleges located within the State of Karnataka where the students are studying 2nd PUC or 12th standard examination upon submission of Demand Draft for Rs. 650/- to the Principals in advance, drawn in favour of “The Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore”, payable at Bangalore and Rs. 500/- for students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Category-1. Last date for submission of Demand Draft to the Principal of Schools and Colleges within Karnataka will be 09-03-2012. Karnataka candidates residing outside Karnataka (Horanadu, Gadinadu and other Karnataka candidates i.e., who fulfills the eligibility conditions) who are studying or who have studied 12th standard or equivalent examination outside the State of Karnataka, within the territory of India, can procure the brochure cum application form by “SPEED POST”, by sending a self-addressed cloth-lined envelope of size 25 cm x 30 cm along with a Demand Draft for Rs. 750/- drawn in favour of “The Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore”, payable at Bangalore and a Karnataka candidate residing outside India can get the brochure cum application form by sending a demand draft for Rs. 5,000/-. The cover in which the demand draft and self-addressed envelope are sent should be boldly super scribed with the words “REQUEST FOR CET-2012 BROCHURE” and should be sent to the office address of Executive Director by “Speed Post” ONLY.

The last date for submission of Demand Drafts by “Speed Post” will be 15-03-2012.

All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination, 2012

AIPMT entrance examination is being conducted exclusively for the 15% merit positions for the Medical/Dental Colleges of India as specified in the directive of the court and will be governed by the rules and regulations specified for the same by the Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare from time to time. The responsibility of the CBSE is limited to the conduct of the entrance examination, declaration of result and providing merit list to the DGHS as per their instructions. The counselling for successful candidates is conducted by the DGHS. During counselling, the eligibility criteria, various documents, etc. of the candidate is verified and Medical/Dental College is allotted to the candidate according to the choice.

The entrance examination consists of:

Preliminary Examination: The Preliminary Examination would consist of one paper containing 200 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only. The duration of paper would be 3 hours.

Final Examination: (Only for those who qualify in the Preliminary Examination). The Final Examination would consist of one paper containing 120 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only. The duration of paper would be 3 hours.

DMIMS Medical Courses Admissions 2012

Entrance Examination for AIIMS -M.B.B.S. Admissions commencing on 1st August, 2010.

Eligibility Criteria-:
(i) Candidates who have passed 12th class examination under 10+2 system or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English securing a minimum of 60% marks (50% in case of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe
candidates) aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English or whose results of Class-XII are likely to be declared by 7th July, 2010 are eligible to apply.
(ii) The candidate should have attained the age of 17 (seventeen) years as on 31st December, 2010.

The Prospectus-cum-Application Form costing Rs. 1000/- (Rs.800/- in case of SC/ST candidates) inclusive of examination fee can be obtained in the following manner:

Eligibility-:
• Candidate seeking admission to postgraduate Medicine/Dentistry course should hold MBBS /BDS degree of recognized University by MCI/DCI.

• A candidate who has completed one year compulsory rotating internship or is likely to complete the same on or before 31st March 2010 can appear for PIMS-AICET-PG 2010

• All such candidates will have to submit the documentary proof, from the Principal / Dean of the college regarding the likely date of completion of internship along with the manual application form, failing which the application shall be rejected.

• A candidate should have obtained permanent registration with MCI/DCI (as the case may be) or any state council. If candidate does not have such registration , he should obtain the same within one month from the date of his/her admission.

• Candidates who are previously registered and pursuing/completed the PG degree course or have obtained PG degree, are not eligible for appearing at PIMS-AICET-PG 2010.

• Candidates previously admitted to PG degree course and resigned/ left the seat are not eligible for appearing at PIMS-AICET-PG 2010 .

• Candidates who have completed Medicine postgraduate diploma course or would be completing by 31.03.2010 will be eligible for PIMS-AICET-PG 2010 for admission to Medicine postgraduate degree in the same subject only.

Admission to MBBS/BDS course under 15% merit positions in medical/dental colleges

All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Examination (AIPMT) 2010 to be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi as per the following schedule for admission to 15% of the total seats for Medical/Dental Courses in all Medical/Dental Colleges run by the Union of India, State Governments, Municipal and other local authorities in India except in the States of ANDHRA PRADESH AND JAMMU & KASHMIR :-

1. Preliminary Examination - 3rd April, 2010 (Saturday)

2. Final Examination - 16th May, 2010 (Sunday)

PATTERN OF EXAMINATION: BOTH PRELIMINARY AND FINAL EXAMINATION WOULD BE OBJECTIVE TYPE.

Eligibility Criteria-:
(i) He/She has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year
M.B.B.S./B.D.S. course and is an INDIAN NATIONAL.

(ii) The upper age limit for All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination is 25 years as on 31st December of the year of the entrance examination. Further provided that upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes.

(iii) The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination shall be limited to 3 (three) uniformly for all the candidates.

(iv) The candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together
in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination. In respect of
candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes
the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying
examination be 40% instead of 50% for General Candidates. Further, for persons for
locomotory disability of lower limbs, the minimum of 45% marks for General-PH and
40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required. Those who are taking plus two
examination in 2010 can also appear for the entrance test provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later.

(v) 15% seats for SC candidates, 7.5% seats for ST candidates, 27% seats for non-creamy layer OBC candidates in Central Institutions only and 3% seats on horizontal basis for Physically Handicapped candidates are reserved in 15% All India Quota for
MBBS/BDS courses.

A candidate can apply for the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination in either of the following two ways:-

Offline-:
Offline submission of Application may be made on the prescribed Application Form. The
Information Bulletin and Application Form costing Rs.800/- for General/OBC Category and Rs.450/- for SC/ST category can be obtained against Cash Payment from the designated branches of Canara Bank/Regional Offices of the CBSE between 20-10-2009 to 27-11-2009. Information Bulletin and Application Form can also be obtained by Post from the Board by sending a written request with a Demand Draft for Rs.850/- for General/OBC Category and Rs.500/- for SC/ST Category payable to the Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi along with a Self Addressed Envelope of size 12” x 10”. The request must reach to the Board on or before 18-11-2009. The request should be superscribed as “Request for Information Bulletin and Application Form for AIPMT-2010”.

Online submission of application may be made by accessing the Board’s website
www.aipmt.nic.in from 20-10-2009 (10.00 A.M.) to 27-11-2009 (5.00 P.M.). Instructions for sending online application, payment of fee and computer generated printout are available on the Board’s website.

Candidates who have qualified for a postgraduate diploma may also apply for the postgraduate degree (MS/MD) course in the same subject. Post Diploma candidates with a diploma in the same subject need to undergo 2 years of training for the degree. Note: Those who complete a DCP will not have this benefit for MD Pathology.

Candidates currently pursuing a postgraduate training programme and who complete the same by the 15th of May 2010 only will be eligible to apply.

Residency in Medical Physics
MSc degree in Medical Physics or a Post-graduate diploma in Hospital Physics (Dip R.P) from BARC, Mumbai.

Candidates applying from abroad (other than SAARC countries) should send a Demand Draft for Fifty US Dollars or its equivalent.

Entrance test-:

Candidates for all medical Post Graduate courses (MD /MS/ Diploma)entrance test conducted by the College are ranked on the basis of a written test, practical tests and interview.

1. The written test will be conducted at BANGALORE, CHANDIGARH, CHENNAI, DELHI,
HYDERABAD, KOLKATA, MUMBAI, PUDUCHERRY, TRIVANDRUM and VELLORE.

2. The written test will be of 2 types:

a. A GENERAL paper consisting of multiple choice questions drawn from all subjects taught in the undergraduate medical course.
b. A SPECIAL paper consisting of multiple choice questions in the specialty for which the candidate has applied and subjects allied to it e.g., the paper for E.N.T. may include questions in anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, etc., with respect to the ear, nose and throat.

Fellowship Programme:
Post doctoral Fellowship in Diabetology (Total 6 seats out of which 3 is sponsored)

Eligibility
1) Candidate must be a Resident Indian National
2) Age : Upper age limit of 35 years as on 1.1.2009 (not applicable to sponsored service candidates)
3) Candidate must possess a degree in M.D. from a University or DNB recognized as equivalent thereto by the MCI, in the respective discipline as mentioned hereunder:

D.M. Neonatology
M.D. (Pediatrics Medicine) from a University or DNB (Pediatric Medicine) recognized as equivalent thereto, by MCI.

D.M. Neurology
M.D. (Medicine) or M.D. (Pediatric Medicine) from a University or DNB in Medicine or DNB in Pediatrics recognized as equivalent thereto, by MCI.

D.M. Clinical Immunology
M.D. (Medicine) or M.D.(Pediatric Medicine) from a University or DNB in Medicine or DNB in Pediatrics recognized as equivalent thereto, by MCI.

D.M. Clinical Pharmacology
M.D. (Pharmacology) or M.D. (Medicine) or M.D.(Pediatrics) or DNB (Pharmacology) or DNB (Medicine) or DNB (Pediatrics) recognized as equivalent thereto, by MCI.

POST DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP COURSE IN DIABETOLOGY
1) Candidate must be a Resident Indian National

M.D. (Medicine) from recognized University or DNB (Medicine) recognized as equivalent thereto, by MCI.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
The application form and the form for hall ticket for the afore mentioned courses can be downloaded from JIPMER Website: www.jipmer.edu.in Filled-in application and hall ticket forms with due signature, finger print and photograph, enclosing a M.I.C.R. Bank Draft for Rs.1000/- (One Thousand only) drawn in favour of “Accounts Officer, JIPMER” payable at Pondicherry, (UT) shall be posted to Professor (Academic), JIPMER, Puducherry-605 006. The last date for receipt of the completed application with the hall ticket form filled-in by the candidate is 12.9.2009 (Saturday) -- 5.00 pm. Application forms incomplete in any respect are liable to be rejected and will not be processed for issue of hall ticket.
The relevant page of the application for downloading from JIPMER website will function from 9.00 a.m. of 15.08.2009 to 4.00 p.m. of 12.09.2009.

Service candidates should route their applications through their employers.

Candidates can apply for only one course.

Candidates for all courses, including sponsored candidates, are required to appear for entrance examination.

No pre-printed applications either by postal request from Academic section or by cash from any Bank are available for these admissions notified above.

Applications submitted / received after the due date will not be considered, under any circumstances.

Applications without the bank draft will be rejected without any further correspondence.

Service candidates can send their advance copy with the bank draft. However they will not be permitted for the interview if the application forwarded by the employer does not reach the Professor Academic before 22-09-2009 (date of the interview).

Hall tickets :
Candidates are required to collect their Hall tickets for the entrance examination personally or through a letter of authority from the Academic section on 19.9.2009 from 9.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. The hall ticket will not be dispatched by post. The venue of the entrance exam is Institute Block, JIPMER.
