Bennett University and edX Online Courses
Times Group's Bennett University and the non-profit online learning edx online courses moocplatform edX, founded by Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), will now jointly provide online courses to its students.
edX as well as Bennett University plan to work together for developing a mutually-agreeable plan to offer Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC).
edX would become the preferred MOOC provider for the new Indian university as it tries to offer a blended on-campus model for its courses. The faculty at Bennett would also get involved in creating new online courses that would later be put up on edX. In fact, Bennett would also have Anant Agarwal on its International Advisory Board to guide it as it aims to become India's first post-digital university.
Bennett university would be aided by research-driven faculty, global academic partnerships as well as a holistic industry-centric curriculum. It would also help in preparing students in competing along with doing well in rapidly-transforming world. In the beginning, the university would be offering B.Tech in engineering with certain specialisations such as computer science, electronics & communications and mechanical engineering as well as an MBA. The new venture would be offering myriad courses to undergraduate, post-graduate and Ph.D students in a number of domains such as management, engineering, management, media, design, law, architecture, liberal arts as well as applied sciences.
