The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is an all India entrance examination conducted on rotation by 14 National Law Universities (NLUs) for admissions to their under-graduate and post-graduate degree programmes (LL.B & LL.M). The 14 participating NLUs in the order of their establishment are:

Eligibility :

For Under-Graduate Courses

To be eligible to appear in CLAT-2013, a candidate should have obtained a Senior Secondary School/Intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent certificate from a recognised Board with not less than 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of SC and ST candidates) and should be below 20 years of age as on 1st July 2013 (22 years in case of SC and ST candidates).* Candidates who are appearing or have appeared in the 10+2 examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to appear in the test. However, such candidates are required to have passed the qualifying examination at the time of their admission and must be able to submit proofs in support of their claims.

For Post-Graduate Courses :

To be eligible for appearing in CLAT-2013, a candidate should have obtained a LL. B/B. L. Degree or an equivalent degree from a recognized University with not less than 55% marks in aggregate (50% in case of SC and ST candidates).* The candidates who have passed the qualifying degree examination through supplementary/ compartment and repeat attempts are also eligible for appearing in the test and taking admission provided that such candidates will have to produce the proof of having passed the qualifying examination with fifty-five/fifty percent marks, as the case may be, on the date of their admission or within the time allowed by the respective universities.

The candidates who are appearing or have appeared in the qualifying degree examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to appear in the test.

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) – 2013 for admission to under-graduate and
post-graduate programmes offered by member National Law Universities is scheduled to take place on Sunday, i.e. on 12th May 2013, from 03:00 p.m. to 05:00 p.m.

AICTE set to allow Distance Engineering Courses

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) set to allow more technical courses including engineering through correspondence i.e. distance learning mode, as long as the laboratory work for these courses is conducted through face-to-face sessions.

Distance Engineering / Technical courses is good initiative in Indian Education System

A move is on to bring distance education in the country under a proper regulatory frame work and the AICTE will come up with a set of guidelines to conduct technical education in this mode by March next year.

This provision for allowing studying engineering through correspondence comes with a clause: "Only those students who have at least one regular classroom diploma or degree and with some work experience are eligible to apply for these distance technical/engineering education degrees.

Students of distance education will not face any problem in getting jobs as their diplomas or degrees will have the same value as those acquired after undergoing courses in educational institutions

IGNOU announces admissions to Management Programmes (MP), through an entrance test ( OPENMAT-XXXIII ), to be held all over the country on February 24, 2013.

Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research-JNCASR invites applications for its Summer Research Fellowship Programme 2013, for motivated and talented Indian students in Science and Engineering.

The Centre offers summer fellowships for two months to bright undergraduate and MSc students (renewable for a second year for selected students). This programme has proved to be popular and competitive; each year, about 5000 students from all over India apply for the 120 fellowships awarded. KIIT University (KSOM) is conducting a pan-India KIITEE-MANAGEMENT 2013 Test for selecting students for its two-year ­flagship MBA programme 2013-15.

Eligibility : Graduate in any discipline recognized by the AIU with a minimum of 15 years (10+2+3) of education and having minimum 50% aggregate marks (or equivalent CGPA) with KIITEE MGT/CAT/MAT/XAT/GMAT/ ATMA 2013 score. The percentage of aggregate marks is to be calculated as per the practice followed by the concerned University/ Institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the University/ Institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing CGPA obtained with the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant with 100.

IIM Indore Executive Post Graduate Programme in E-Governance (EPGP-EG) Admissions 2013

The Executive Post Graduate Programme in E-Governance (EPGP- EG) of IIM Indore intends to create a pool of skilled professionals in e-governance domain who can be instrumental in ensuring good governance in the country either through government initiatives or through private participations. EPGP-EG is an effort to bridge the growing gap between demand of skilled and relevant manpower and their availability. It is an intensive one-year residential programme designed to inculcate skills in management, governance, and IT enabled administration. Supported by the National Institute of Smart Government (NISG) and Department of Information Technology (DIT), Government of India, the programme is expected to build manpower that can take leadership role in private and government organizations in conceptualizing, designing, and implementing e-governance projects.

Eligibility :

*A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with minimum 50% marks during graduation and

* Full time work experience of at least two years.

Candidates with work experience in public management, e-governance projects, Government or corporate IT projects etc. will be given preference.

Eligibility:
For BM & HRM programmes:
Candidates who have completed three years of Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline by a recognized appropriate authorities / Association of Indian Universities are eligible to apply. Those completing their final examination by June 10, 2013 may also apply.

For GMP:
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline by a recognized appropriate authorities / Association of Indian Universities.
